HNBUMU Dehradun Admission 2026: Fees, Courses, Eligibility and Selection

Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMU) was established in 2014 by the Government of Uttarakhand. It is also known as HNB Uttarakhand Medical Education University and is located at Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The University extends its affiliation to three medical and paramedical institutes each and 13 nursing colleges.. 

HNBUMU Admission Process 2021: Fast Facts

The University offers several programmes at undergraduate level such as MBBS, BDS, BSc (Nursing), BPT and BMLT. At PG level, it offers MD, MDS, MS, MPT, MSc, PG Diploma and Post Basic Nursing programmes. 

UG Courses 

• Candidates must apply for NEET UG conducted by NTA for admission to MBBS and BDS programmes
• Admission to BSC, BPT and BMLT is merit-based

PG Courses

• Candidates seeking admission to MD/ MS programmes need to appear for NEET PG
• For MDS programme, admission will be based on the qualifying marks obtained in NEET MDS
• Admission to MPT, MSc, PG Diploma and Post Basic Nursing Programme is based on the merit

HNBUMU UG Admission 2021

HNBUMU UG admission is offered in MBBS, BDS, BSc (Nursing), BPT and BMLT programmes. All the information related to all the UG programmes is given below.

HNBUMU Admission 2021: MBBS, BDS

The University offers MBBS and BDS at UG level. The course duration of MBBS is four and a half years with one year of compulsory rotating internship. BDS is offered with a course duration of four years with one year of mandatory internship.

Selection criteria: Final selection to both the courses is based on the score obtained in NEET UG.

HNBUMU Admission 2021: BSc, BPT, BMLT

BSc, BPT and BMLT programmes are also offered at UG level by HNBUMU with a course duration of four years each. The duration of BMLT comprises one year of internship period in its total tenure of four years. Admission to all these programmes solely depends on meeting the respective eligibility criteria of each course which is tabulated below:

HNBUMU PG Admission 2021

At the PG level, HNBUMU offers numerous courses such as MD, MDS, MS, MPT, MSc, PG Diploma and Post Basic Nursing. The detailed information regarding admission to all these programmes is given below. 

HNBUMU Admission 2021: MD, MDS, MS

HNBUMU offers MD, MDS and MS programmes at PG level.

• The course duration of both MD and MS is three years (two years for those with a two-year recognised diploma in the same specialty) and admission is based on the score obtained in NEET PG
• Candidates, who have completed their rotating internship for at least one year after completing MBBS on or before April 30, are eligible to apply to for MD and MS courses
• The duration of MDS course is four years and selection of the candidates is based on the marks secured in NEET MDS

HNBUMU Admission 2021: MPT, MSc, PG Diploma, Post Basic Nursing

The University also offers MPT, MSC, PG Diploma and Post Basic Nursing programmes at postgraduate level. The course duration of PG Diploma is one year whereas for the remaining programmes, it is two years each. Admission to all the courses is merit-based. 

• Candidate should be a registered Nurse and registered Midwife or equivalent with any State Nursing Registration Council before applying for Post Basic Nursing programme

HNBUMU Application Process 2021

Application process of HNBUMU is not mentioned on its official website. We will update the same as soon as the University put it on its website. However, admission to some of the courses at UG and PG level offered by the University are based on the entrance exams such as NEET UG, NEET PG and NEET MDS. Step-wise application process of NEET UG is as follows:

1. Visit the official website of NEET (www.ntaneet.nic.in)
2. On the home page of the webiste, Click on ‘Fill Application Form'
3. Follow the instructions mentioned on the next page and click on ‘Proceed to apply online NEET UG’
4. Fill in all the details correctly and submit the fee online through e-wallet, net-banking or debit/ credit card

Step-wise application process of NEET PG is as follows:

1. Visit the official website (www.nbe.edu.in) and click on NEET PG
2. On the home page of the webiste, click on ‘New Registration’ tab
3. Follow the instructions mentioned on the next page and click on ‘Proceed to apply online NEET PG’
4. Upload all the relevant scanned documents and click on ‘Submit’
5. Pay the online application fee through net-banking or debit/ credit card

1. Visit the official website (www.nbe.edu.in) and click on NEET MDS
2. On the home page of the webiste, click on ‘New Registration’ tab
3. Follow the instructions mentioned on the next page and click on ‘Proceed to apply online NEET MDS’
4. Upload all the relevant scanned documents and click on ‘Submit’
5. Pay the online application fee through net-banking or debit/ credit card
