Yes, Jain (Deemed-to-be-University) offers direct (lateral) admission to Engineering courses. The university's direct admission is based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination. Admission to Lateral Entry is done entirely merit-based. There is no entrance exam required for the selection of candidates. Admissions are done based on the merit of candidates in the previous qualifying exam. In BTech Lateral Entry course, admission is given on the valid percentage of candidates acquired in a Diploma course. Once candidates fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria and qualify the selection process, they are called for a counselling process. 

Yes, qualifying JET is not necessary for all the programmes provided by the university. For courses like PhD, JET is not necessary but for courses like JET BTech, and others, JET is important. To qualify the JET exam, candidates must study according to the JET Exam pattern, fill out the JET application form timely, and study the JET 2026 syllabus wisely. Without JET admission will not be possible in the flagship courses provided by the university.

The Lateral Entry admission route for the BTech programme is designed for candidates with prior learning and technical experience to convert their Diploma into a full-fledged degree with this accelerated route requiring students to have a Diploma in Engineering/ Relevant discipline for admission to the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, JAIN (Deemed-to-be University). 

Jain University conducts the application process for all the UG and PG courses in online mode. To apply, candidates have to meet the course-specific eligibility. Candidates have to fill the online application form available on the Jain University website.
