If you’re comparing for CSE, both are decent options, but honestly Lovely Professional University has a bit more advantage overall.
LPU has a bigger campus, more exposure, and a wider range of CSE specializations (AI, Data Science, Cybersecurity, etc.). You also get more opportunities like hackathons

If you're comparing honestly, Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is the stronger pick over Jain University for M.Tech — especially for something like environmental engineering.
Thapar has:
Better academic reputation + faculty + labs
Stronger industry exposure and peer group
More credibility
