SET is a term related to the instituitions that offer professional Engineering courses and hence is a broad label. Without specifying the name of the instituition, and other details like stream of the selected student etc., it is very difficult to answer this question. Also the fact that the cut off criteria and admission process may be unique to the instituition does not help in answering this question. Most of the engineering colleges accept students with qualifications in entrance exams like in Kerala, KEAM is very important and also all India exams like JEE MAIN and JEE ADVANCED, are important in the admission process.

The eligibility criteria for B.Tech at School of Engineering and Technology are as follows:The candidates must have graduated from a recognised institution in class 12 with mathematics, chemistry, and physics as required courses.Candidates must have completed class 12 with a minimum grade of 60% or above.Depending on the college they want to attend, the candidates must take entrance tests like JEE Main, JEE Advanced, BITSAT, VITEEE, LPUNEST, etc.Regarding the JET exam, several institutions administer it to candidates seeking admission to their B.Tech programs. To gain admission to B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry, B.F.Sc., B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), and B.Tech. (Food Technology) programs, for instance, Agriculture University, Jodhpur administers the Rajasthan JET. Similar to this, the Film and Television Institute of India administers the FTII JET to candidates seeking admission to a range of film and television courses. TATA Steel administers the TATA Steel JET programme to hire junior engineer trainees. As such, in order to respond to your inquiry, please be more specific about the JET exam you're referring to as well as the college you're interested in. It is possible to assess your chances of being admitted to B.Tech courses by looking at the anticipated cut-off marks for various JET tests. The number of candidates, the exam's difficulty, the availability of seats, and other variables may cause the cut-off marks to change annually. In order to get the most recent news and information, you should also visit the official websites of the corresponding institutes.

PUB has a higher placement percentage when compared to SET. It may be due to the fact that PUB offers a wider range of programs other than engineering when compared to SET. the average salary range is also higher at PUB and is in the range of 5 to 10 Lakhs per annum while SET's anerage salary range is close to 4 LPA. If you are interested in engineering streams, SET might be better suited for you as it offers diverse options of engineering branches which may appeal to your interests. In short your question has a very complex answer actually and therefore you need to be more specific like your interest in the program, future plans etc.

There are several high ranking institutes in Banglore, but Banglore cannot be said to be the best in this field as there are multiple highly competitive institutions that perform very well due to variety in streams available, specialisation courses, industrial connections, higher quality education system, highly qualified faculty etc. Even then, Bangalore houses numerous well-regarded engineering and technology schools, contributing significantly to the overall national engineering education landscape. The student should actually conduct thorough research on their preferences, their interests, their compatibility, etc. to choose the most suitable stream, location and then close in on an institute after, once again, doing thorough background check on the campus, the faculty, the placement percentage etc. and then only then should they shortlist about 2-3 institutions and try for admissions.

This does not answer the question asked as there is a huge assumption that you are talking about BTech in public colleges. The answer varies significantly based on multiple factors like the stream chosen, hostel and other facilities, categories, the specific institutions selected, and even gender. Therefore, a more specific question is to be asked including the above mentioned details.
