Generally, candidates cannot get direct admission in Kurukshetra University for any of the courses. However, some lateral entry options are available for candidates. Also, some seats are reserved for certain candidates, such as those belonging to the defence personnel category, etc. They can get admission in the university through a special selection process. 

Kurukshetra University accepts KUK entrance exam to offer various UG courses. The 2024 admission cutoffs captured an intricate picture of diversity in demand of the courses. The cutoff data has been made available for General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS, and PWD categories under All India and Home State quotas. The General AI candidates experienced cutoff of 90.4 for B.Sc. in Multimedia for the General AI category candidates. Similarly, for Integrated MPA (Hons.) in Tabla, the cutoff stood at 68.6 for the General AI category candidates.

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Kurukshetra University offers a total of 25 hostels for boys and girls. For boys, there are 12 hostels, while for girls, there are 13. KUK hostel fees consist of university share and hostel share. University share includes Accommodation/ Room Rent, water, and electrical and medical fees, while for hostel charges, students are required to pay for utensils and furniture fund, mess development fund and sanitation, among other charges. Candidates with disabilities are exempted from the University and hostel shares, however, they are required to deposit a Mess Advance charge of INR. 3000 and a Hostel Security of INR 1000 as a caution deposit.
