NIT Trichy offers two-year M.Tech programmes in 23 specialisations. NIT Trichy does not conduct any in-house entrance test. It grant admission to the courses on the basis of merit in national-level examinations. The accepted entrance examinations are JEE Main,  GATE,  IIT JAM,  CAT, and NIMCET. Only the candidates with a valid score in the accepted exams as per the applied course are admitted.

Opening and Closing rank depends on the category and quota of candidates. For JEE Main Round 6 cutoff 2023, the opening rank was 1147 and closing rank was 1509 for the general category candidates under All India quota. Cut off are different when it comes to other categories or female candidates and even domicile of home state. In All India, opening and closing rank for female candidates was 2086 and 2086. Admission to Computer Science Engineering in NIT Trichy is based on the scores obtained in the JEE Main entrance exam. Applicants are advised to confirm what category are they applying while checking for cut offs.

The aspirants with a BE/BTech degree with at least 60% aggregate can apply for M.Tech at NIT Trichy. For admission to MTech, candidates must have a valid score of GATE, which shall be equal to or higher than the cutoff. Selected candidates further are called for CCMT Counselling. Interested candidates must apply for the GATE exam and counselling within the due date.

The cutoff trend for B.Tech at NIT Trichy has been increasing in the recent years. In 2022, the closing rank for B.Tech. under general category for all India quota was 1205. In 2023, it increased to 1509. Likewise, the cut off ranks have changed from 2974 to 429 for OBC 61 to 268 for SC 11355 to 51 for ST 2142 to 241 for EWS 7 to 5 for PWDThis trend is likely to continue in the coming years, as the demand for engineering education in India continues to grow. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.

If you are getting NIT then never think of Jadavpur University. The QS World University Rankings ranked NIT Trichy 228 in Asia in the 2018 ranking. NIT Trichy was ranked 11 among engineering colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2017 and 34 overall. So I prefer you NIT Trichy.

For the students from SC category the cutoff that has been declared by National testing agency is just at 51.9776027.As you can see you have scored quite well with respect to this cut off percentile. Hello Yamini S, 51.9776027 is the cutoff percentile as announced by National testing agency for JEE mains. You have obtained percentile is much higher than this minimum. I am therefore confident that you will get admission in your desired branch in desired NIT.
