Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU, formerly known as Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University) offers a vast range of merit, need-based and sports scholarships to its UG, PG and diploma course students. Offered in the form of full and half tuition fee waivers, PDEU scholarships are awarded with effect from the first year. However, to become eligible for the continuance of the scholarship in the subsequent years, for most scholarships, the students are required to have a minimum SPI (which differs with each course) in the first semester and in every subsequent semester.
Merit Scholarship: All the students who want to get admission in a given band of JEE and ACPC rank for various programmes will get a full tuition fee waiver. The details are as follows:

Special Merit Scholarship: The special merit scholarship offered to needy students. The scholarship is offered in various criteria:
- 25% Tuition Fee Waiver as per the intake of the batch of 2025-29 of Civil / Electrical / Petroleum Engineering.
- Admission is either through All India Seats or ACPC seats.
- The scholarship will continue up to the final semester for the students passing fully with a minimum 6.5 CPI in Sem. - I and onwards. (This provision is NOT applicable to admissions on NRIseats / TFW seats.)
Scholarship for Defence/ CAPF Persons: A candidate will apply in the normal category as well as in the Defence /CAPF category. There would be no change in the eligibility criteria for admission as described in Section 4 of this document.
- 100% tuition fee waiver to wards of Gallantry Award winners or those who made a supreme sacrifice for the nation, i.e. fatal battle casualties. The candidate has to present proof of the award from the respective organisation.
- 50% tuition fee waiver to the ward of war war-injured / war disabled soldier of the defence force and CAPF. The candidate has to present a war disability certificate from the respective organisation.
- 50% tuition fee waiver to the wards of soldiers whose annual income is less than 8.0 lakhs. The candidate has to present an income certificate.

Scholarship for Son/ Daughter of Widow/ Divorce or Orphan Child: The institute offers a half-tuition fee waiver. The below-mentioned are the details:
- The scholarship will be 50% of the total Tuition Fees from the 2nd Academic Year.
- The merit list will be based on the result of the First Year, and further, the continuation of the scholarship in subsequent 3rd and 4th year shall be subject to a minimum 8.5 CPI at the first attempt in the previous year, besides fulfilment of other norms. e.g. regular attendance, discipline and exemplary behaviour.
- Total Annual Income (from all sources) of the student’s family should not exceed INR 4.50 Lacs in the previous financial year.
Scholarship for Son/ Daughter of Physically Handicapped Parents: The below-mentioned are half tuition fee waivers:
- The scholarship will be 50% of the total Tuition Fees from the 2nd Academic Year.
- The merit list will be based on the result of the First Year, and further, the continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent 3rd and 4th year shall be subject to a minimum 6.5 CPI at the first attempt in the previous year, besides fulfilment of other norms. e.g. regular attendance, discipline and exemplary behaviour.
- Those students’ parents who are more than 40% physically handicapped (Certificate to be provided)
- Total Annual Income (from all sources) of the student’s family should not exceed INR 4.50 Lacs in the previous financial year.
Note: For Widow / Divorcee or Orphan Child & Physically Handicapped Parents: In total, 10 students will get these scholarships based on the CPI and parents’ income on a merit basis, and additional 5 students will get these scholarships on Special Recommendation (if they fulfil the above criteria)
