M.Sc. in Information Technology - Batch of 2016
Offered by Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science

Hoping this review will help you to decide whether you wanted to be in or not.
Placements: Got placed in Wipro as well as LnT but don't made to continue with both or at least one. I got chance to appear because of the fine academic records. But those who don't fit in criteria have to place by there own search. It's not easy to be best in today competitive world. You guys have to work really hard to catch the job.
Infrastructure: We have an awesome infrastructure and building in Pillais. Surrounding is just too good with a small garden. But the little bit confusing for those who visit or the first time. But once you are in, then you will become familiar with all department wise buildings and blocks.
Faculty: The faculty members are also too good with theory subjects. For practical based scenario it's not below average but yes on the average. The course curriculum we had were not all outdated. But the one which is the corporate perspective you need to work hard. In sum, all the subjects and teachers were awesome.

Overall, it's a good college.
Placements: I recently took admission for Masters there. Although I don't know much about placement, the college has organised a 2-3 job fair. Students took great participation, had a great response. I asked the students who had passed out from that college if they got placed through the college.
Infrastructure: I don't live in a hostel. But for classrooms, labs, and libraries, they have great facilities, a variety of books, and also PC and a classroom with a projector. Helps students to understand better. As for sports and games, students get a platform to play or represent the college.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, and teaching is also good and complete syllabus, conducts practical and so on, also encourages students to participate in educational activities. Exams weren't hard, not easy, just moderate, as all the topics and syllabus are covered.
Other: As I already did Bachelors in it, I took admission in Masters. Fest is great.

The college has good infrastructure and teaching.
Placements: Placements for my course (biotechnology) are limited. Only a small percentage of students got placed, and most of them had to look for jobs off-campus. The highest package is around 4 LPA-5 LPA, with the average being approximately 2.5 LPA. Core companies rarely visit for recruitment. Most placements are in sales or QA/QC roles in small firms. Internship opportunities are also limited and not always course-relevant. However, placements seem better for engineering and computer science departments.
Infrastructure: The campus infrastructure is good and well-maintained. Classrooms are equipped with projectors, and the labs are decently equipped for practicals. Wi-Fi is available but not always reliable. The library has a decent collection of books.
Faculty: Faculty members are generally knowledgeable and supportive. Most of the professors are well-qualified and teach with clarity, though a few classes felt rushed. Some subjects feel outdated and would benefit from revision to make students more job-ready. Semester exams are moderately difficult, mostly from the syllabus, and the pass percentage is quite high if you study regularly. However, practical exposure and real-world applications are limited, which affects industry readiness. Teaching is good.

For the students belonging to the General AI category, the minimum percentage required for admission was 45.17 in Round 1. Hence, candidates must target a higher cutoff percentage to get a seat at Pillai College of Arts, Commerce and Science.
