Fake promises by the HOD during admission, lack of facilities, poor syllabus.

Placements: Only 10% of students were placed. It was not because students were not talented, but because of the department's placement officer, Mr. Siddayya Hiremath, who guided students in training and placements and conducted mock interviews. Other faculty and the HOD were least bothered about placements, and no support or credit was given to him in front of the administration. The average package was 4 LPA. He pushed a lot of students through his connections.

Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi, no computer lab, no pure water facility, and students frequently had to move from one building to another for labs. There were no Mechanical labs, or labs were not well-equipped. Few classrooms had AC or good projectors. The canteen was average. In one building, they ran 2–3 Engineering departments.

Faculty: Faculty members were good, but they did not teach well. The syllabus was too diluted compared to other Energy Engineering syllabuses. It had to be at least 40% Electrical, but they had only 4–5 subjects in 4 years. Students did not get much knowledge about what was required in the renewable energy industry today. They did not have Power Systems, MATLAB, or Simulink courses in the curriculum. Only 1 faculty member had industry experience, while all others taught only bookish subjects. Most faculty were recent graduates and alumni with zero industry experience.

Other: I chose this course because it was affordable at that time. Everything was not good. Events were rare, and activities were only in name. They initially said it was equivalent to Mechanical and Electrical. When the students graduated in 2025 and asked for an equivalent certificate, they refused to give one. Students could not apply for technical roles in the government sector as it was not mentioned as Electrical or Mechanical. They were not even eligible for internships and apprenticeships in PSUs and other research institutes. The HOD played with words, giving fake promises to students and parents.
