To get admission into MCA courses at Thapar University, candidates are required to complete the basic eligibility criteria first and go through a selection process. Moreover, selection is based on merit prepared by giving weightage to Class 10, Class 12, and graduation scores. The weightage has been given to aggregate marks up to a pre-final year. Yes, candidates appearing in their final exam for the BTech degree can apply for an M.Tech at Thapar University. However, such candidates have to submit their undertaking at the time of counselling stating that they are applying at their own risk, as their result of the final exam has not been declared, and ensure that they do not have any backlogs in previous semesters. Further, the undertaking also demands that students not expect any backlog in their final exam. Moreover, candidates must produce their proof of passing the qualifying examination with the minimum aggregate required, i.e., 60% (55% for reserved categories), before December 31, 2025.
