Our college is a very good option for students who are looking for 2 year MCA in Jammu.
Placements: Every week our college shares recruitment mail and they also provide smart training. They provide us CoCube test and make us ready for various job opportunities. Moreover, they also conduct extra activities to help us in collecting extra certificates like volunteer for yoga certificate, environment day certificate, etc. They also offer us the Coursera Certificate too.
Infrastructure: Everything on the campus is outstanding. Once you visit the college you would love it, the facilities and the faculty members are excellent. They all are very supportive and always stay in touch with you. You can contact them on WhatsApp or direct on call. Teachers are very experienced.
Faculty: Currently, during the covid 19, all exams are conducting online and they are very supportive. They are teaching very good, and the result of the college is 100%. After completing the syllabus, they provide extra-curricular activities which help us to gain more certificates and increase our skills and knowledge.

University is good at studies, but there a lot of loopholes which needs to fulfil.
Placements: Only a few students got placed from our batch because only some companies came for recruitment in our university. Students searched for jobs in companies on their own outside the state because there is no scope of MCA in our state. Companies should approach in our state.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our institute was good in condition. Classrooms were also good, but hostels were in bad condition. The quality of the food served was the worst in the hostels. There were no medical facilities provided in the university. Our library was in good condition but not well-managed with reference to the current magazines and their management.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful. Some teachers are very good at knowledge and are experienced. But some teachers are below average this is because of contractual faculty recruitment policy of Jammu University. They hire teachers for 6 months only, and later they recruit a new teacher, which is the worst part of college. The college should hire a teacher for at least 3 years to give him/her chance to their best to serve students with higher knowledge.

University of Jammu, has good computer science department and IT.
Placements: There are not a lot of placements. I don't know when was the last time that the department of computer science arranged a placement drive inside the campus. I have seen two batches passing out one in 2016, other in 2017 but no placement drive was conducted for them inside the campus. They are sent to distant locations for interviews in companies like Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Bangalore, etc. The students go there at their own expense, and department bears nothing. Students are well placed, and some are even getting Lacs per month. Some of the people I know are getting about Rs 20,000 as they are at an early stage while some of our alumni are even abroad.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good infrastructure. Classes are air-conditioned. Departments are clean, and so are washrooms. There are separate faculty rooms. The department is big and airy. There are 3-4 separate laboratories with different operating systems like Linux, windows, etc. Labs are big and air-conditioned. There are about 30 working computer systems in every lab with internet facility. The Wi-Fi facility is only available to teachers and scholars, and the regular students are only permitted to use the internet in labs. The department has a library which has books on almost every subject. There are newspapers and magazines available and sitting facility too. Sports kits are also available in the departments, and students can take them from the office for use. There is a canteen outside the department which serves snacks, maggi, tea, and coffee. Hostel rooms are good but small. Approximately 2 or 3 students are given a room with a separate cupboard for every student.
Faculty: The MCA course consists of 6 semesters of 5-semester study and the last semester consists of project work. The teachers are very good, helpful, hardworking and well qualified. They spend a good amount of time on the students, and the classes of almost every subject are held regularly. The primary focus is on software rather than hardware here. The teachers make use of whiteboards, and interactive lectures are given through smart classes. The student to faculty ratio is approximately 10:1. I don't think there is enough industrial exposure. Though the department organises seminars from time to time, still something lacks. The course curriculum is very well prepared and useful.
Other: No fests are organised. Small functions are sometimes held in the seminar hall of the departments. The department is not good regarding cultural activities. The campus is inside the city and is a green campus with dustbins spread all over. Sports meet and inter-departmental sports meetings in various sports are held every year.

Admission in University of Jammu- blunder of my life.
Placements: Since last 10 years, placement has been decreased at a very rapid rate as told us by our seniors. From the previous batch also only 2 students got placed and that they had go to Chandigarh for interview. No campus placement. Hardly any company visits. Almost it is equal to nill.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in labs is good but in classes it is poor. Overall infrastructure of department is not upto the mark. Since it is NAAC accredited A+ university but the facilities are very poor. No Wi-Fi facility for students. Internet facility available only in 1 lab while the other one is without internet facility. No official trip or visit to companies.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable but they are unable to deliver their 100 percent. Teaching methods used are still way back of old times. Total 5 teachers are assigned for 5 subjects. Total students are 36. No industrial exposure. Course curriculum is more focused on theoretical point of view.
Other: No events, no fest, no extracurricular activities. Campus surrounding is good.

Fully satisfied with the faculty of our department.
Placements: Placements for our batch will be done in the fourth semester. Our seniors were placed during their final year. Most of the eligible students were placed during the course of study. The highest salary offered was 50k and the lowest was 20k for the seniors. To the seniors. Many top companies visited the campus like Intel, HCL, Sony, Samsung, Dell, etc.. Students have to work on the computers as our course is all about computers. 100% students got an internship from the college. You can do an internship on your own. We got stipend near about 5k.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is not available because of some technical issues. As we are students of computer science we need computer labs and the labs are big and compatible. The library is also good and big. Books are available in the library of all the courses. Medical facilities are also provided by the campus. Sports activities are also done every month. The quality of food in the canteen is good. The hostel rooms are also fine. You will not face any issue if you will decide to live in the hostel.
Faculty: The faculty members are very kind and nice. The way they dictate things, impressed me a lot. I always wanted faculty members like these who could understand my difficulties. They use different teaching methods to gain interest of the students in the subject. They are always ready to help their students. They are experienced teachers and have a vast knowledge about their subject. We don't get any industry exposure. The course is useful for me.

Satisfied only because of the supportive faculty.
Placements: The placement drive for our course was not that much great. The approach to the companies was mostly through udaan. The packages provided by the companyies were very low. Most of the students went to the companies just for the internship. But didn't settled there for any job.
Infrastructure: There was no facility of Wi-Fi available to students. Only scholars and teachers were allowed to use the Wi-Fi. We also went for the strike but in vain. I don't know much about the hostel life. But I know that the quality of mess was poor.
Faculty: The teachers were well educated and was quite helping in nature. There was an industrial visit but that was not taken seriously by any of the student. The way we were taught in university definitely led us somewhere. We are definitely thankful to our staff.

I am absolutely dissatisfied with our college.
Placements: Still, placements are not conducted in our college for our batch. About 5 students got placed from our senior batch. The salary offered to our seniors who got placed is Rs. 20,000 per month. There is no placement cell, and teachers are not very efficient to teach.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi facility, and the infrastructure of classrooms is very poor. However, labs are good, but there is no medical facility. Students don't even get the first aid. Windows are broken, and they look very bad. Air-conditioners don't work properly, and less number of fans are available in classrooms.
Faculty: Teachers here are knowledgeable but have poor skills in teaching. They teach through chalk and board method or sometimes PPTs. I didn't get industry exposure since they didn't conduct any industry visit. The course curriculum is good, but the 1st year syllabus is not useful because it is the same syllabus which we have studied in BCA. Seminars are not organised. The syllabus is very outdated that what we learnt in BCA will be taught again in MCA. So, it is a waste of pursuing MCA for 3 years.
Other: Fests have not been organised until now.
