The seat intake for every year varies as per the course opte. However, the elligibility criteria for admission to the B.Tech programme are as follows:- The candidate should be an Indian National.- The candidate must have either appeared at the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC / Std. XII) examination or equivalent qualification of any board in India or abroad, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Life Sciences (and desirably with Mathematics) or if the result of the examination has been declared, he/she must have passed the same examination with minimum 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together (40% for the Reserve Category candidates).- The selection process is done through an online proctor-based entrance test conducted by the university.The total intake capacity for B.Tech programs is 240 students per year. The institute offers B.Tech programs in the allied fields of health Science such as Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Data Science, Food Technology, and Biomedical Engineering.

According to the official website of IMU - IMU Navi Mumbai Indian Maritime University, the B.Tech programme in Marine Engineering has an intake capacity of 40 students per year in each batch. The admission is based on the rank obtained in the IMU Common Entrance Test (IMU CET). The eligibility criteria for this programme are as follows:The candidate should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subjects with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks.The candidate should have a minimum of 50% marks in English in 10th or 12th standard.The candidate should be physically fit and meet the medical standards prescribed by the Director General of Shipping, Government of India.The candidate should be between 17 and 25 years of age as on 1st August of the year of admission.
