World Student Innovation Summit (WSIS) Launches Innovation Programme for Global Student Community

October 9, 2020: Recently on October 2, the World Student Innovation Summit (WSIS) unveiled its first edition of Global Student Group Innovation Programme. WSIS, a student-led startup forum, is the brainchild of Master Aditya Pachpande and the first Adoption of Social Media in Academia (ASMA) project of NextGen Innov8. The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by the presence of eminent personalities across the globe including the Union Minister of State for Education, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India Sanjay Dhotre and Chairman of AICTE Dr Anil D Sahasrabudhe who were also the chief guest of the event.

Through this initiative, WSIS aims to create a wave of creativity within the population of global students. The event confirmed the announcement of numerous initiatives, including 'Innovation Committees', 'Innovation Ambassadors' and Incubators, for schools and higher education institutions. The WSIS plans to reach several million students from India and abroad through schools and colleges. In December 2020, the second edition of WSIS will be held.

It also highlighted the new breakthrough of the 'Covid-19 Suraksha Pack' from 14-year-old Aditya Pachpande, a do-it-yourself UVC sterilisation package that destroys bacteria, fungi and viruses, like covid-19. The discovery of this innovation is an example of creativity at an early age that destroys bacteria without using toxic chemicals such as alcohol and detergents. Instead, the package uses Ultra Violet C rays to destroy Covid-19 virus and other bacteria and is effective in sterilising everyday foodstuffs, foods and eatables, and products such as key chains and wallets. Aditya Pachpande is the young CEO of newly launched Nextgen Innov8.

The event was also witnessed by several countries, including the USA, Italy, Mexico, Poland, Austria, Malaysia, South Africa and India. The participating stakeholders were from business, industries, education-tech, start-ups, investors, incubators, educators, school and higher education institutions, as well as education administrators

ASM Adds Cloud Computing as New Specialisation in PGDM Programme

July 13, 2020: The ASM Group of Institutes has announced the launch of Cloud Computing as a new specialisation to its PGDM programme. Under this new specialisation, the Institute aims to train and develop the next generation of cloud professionals. The programme will be offered as a part of PGDM in Emerging Technologies with effect from August 2020.

The two-year programme will teach students various modules such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and  Big Data. The course is designed to create employable and industry-ready digital managers that are suitable to perform tasks such as Cloud practitioners, professionals and experts, data analysts, HR analysts, AI & ML professionals, Cloud sales & purchase managers, Cloud engineering and AWS networking specialist. Students will have access to courses and live sessions from Harvard Business School and IIM Bangalore.

Bachelor Degree in IT/Computer Application/ Computer Science/ Electronics / Electrics &Tele Communication

ASM Organises 5-Day Online Faculty Development Programme

May 21, 2020: ASMs Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR) organsied a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) between May 17 and May 21. There was no registration fee for the programme and aimed at imparting online education, remote, virtual classes and teaching techniques to all the participants. The event witnessed the active participation of over 7,500 faculty delegates across 1,500 Indian cities. The resource faculty are eminent academicians and leaders such as Directors of IIM Raipur, IIM Sambalpur, BIMTECH, SIBM Hyderabad, and ASM Group of Institutions.

The FDP sessions are a mix of business and education specialists focusing on the changing aspects of the post-Coronavirus education market, interactive learning technology, modern instructional methods, and preparation of teachers that can continue to tackle the complexities of online education.

The Institute invited prominent dignitaries from various races of life such as Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development, Communications and Electronics & Information Technology, Govt. of India, Sanjay Dhotre to address the audience and Chairman of AICTE, Professor Anil D Sahasrabudhe as the guest of honour, Leslie Loh, CEO, Lithan of Singapore as the International Keynote Speaker and Dr Sandeep Pachpande, Chairman, ASM Group as the host and the moderator.

The event proved to be a big success and informative for all.

ASM to Continue Students’ Placements Amid Lockdown

April 30, 2020: Amid lockdown due to Coronavirus, a lot of institutes have witnessed delayed joining and withdrawal of placement offers. However, the ASMs Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR) continues to place students in IT and Insurance sectors. Over seven students have been placed and the other seven are in the final stage of discussion. The corporates and recruiters are taking virtual interviews of students through video conferencing tools such as Zoom and Chime. The offer letters have been shared with the selected students. Amid the current situation, a student managed to bag the highest package of Rs 12 LPA.

Not just the placements, but the corporates are equally interested in recruiting students for virtual internships. Over 16 students have been offered internship opportunities and others are in pipeline.

ASM IBMR has a track record of quality placements and the institute has also been awarded with ‘Most Preferred B-school offering employability skills’ for placements at the ASSOCHAM’s 13th Higher Education Skills & Livelihood Conclave 2020 held recently in New Delhi.

ASM Group of institutes bags a double at Kotler Awards 2020

April 22, 2020: Pune-based ASM Group of Institutes have been recently awarded with Kotler Awards 2020 at an award ceremony held in New Delhi. The group was awarded two awards:

  • 'India Achiever Academician' award in the Excellence category
  • 'Best in Global Orientation' in the Institutional Excellence categories

To present the award, Laura Ries was invited who is the author of marketing books and co-founder of the advertising consultancy firm Ries & Ries.

The winners were decided based on the criteria of organisational or individual contributions to the industry and their significance. These included achievements, effectiveness, innovation, resource management, sociality, strategy & foresight, delivery & impact and personal vs professional qualities.

ASM IBMR to Deliver Lectures Online

April 14, 2020: Considering the current pandemic the whole country is under lockdown but learning at ASM has not stopped. ASM Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR) is the first institute to move the classes of ongoing batches online. April 3, 2020: ASM Institute of Business Management and Research (IBMR) facilitated a batch of students with the opportunity to undergo eight-week digital course training conducted by IIM Bangalore. The name of the course was IIMBx. The course aimed at giving students an edge over other PGDM or management degree students. Students got the opportunity to interact with IIM Faculty members and attend interactive webinars and classroom sessions.

The students who attended the course were honored with certificates. Many of them have already secured campus placements with top brands.

March 19, 2020: The esteemed ‘Most Preferred B-School offering employability skills for placements’ award was presented to ASM Group of Institutes at the 13th Higher Education Skills & Livelihood Conclave 2020 held in New Delhi. ASM Group of Institutes has successfully placed over 100 students in top companies such as TATA, UB Group, Aditya Birla Group, Infotech, Colgate, Godrej, Mercedes Benz, Johnson & Johnson, General Motors, SK Infotech, XL Dynamics, MTS, Toshiba, ICICI Securities, Deloitte. The highest package has been reported to be Rs 12 lakh. Institute has witnessed an increase of 40 per cent in total placements and 30 per cent increase in overall CTC as compared to the previous year. The two-day conclave addressed how the education programme ought to be connected to the orientation of ability and potential requirements.

ASM IBMR offers MBA, PGDM and MCA courses. The institute also offers PhD programme. Candidates must complete graduation with relevant subjects with at least 50% aggregate to apply for PG courses. Admission at ASM IBMR is entrance-based.

ASM IBMR considers entrance exam scores for admission. The institute accepts CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT, etc. for MBA/ PGDM courses. Admission to MCA is based on MAH MCA CET scores of the candidates. Hence, candidates cannot get admission without passing any of the accepted entrance exams.

ASM IBMR has a total of 360 seats in MBA programme. Candidates are offered seat in MBA based on their scores in CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA, etc. followed by performance in group discussion/ interview. Selected aspirants need to pay course fees to confirm their seat.

Candidates must pass graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate for MCA. There is a relaxation of 5% in the aggregate for reserved category candidates. Students need to study Mathematics or Statistics at Class 12 or higher examination level to apply for MCA.

At IBMR - Institute of Business Management & Research, students are shortlisted based on entrance exam scores for the MBA programme. Interested students have to provide valid CAT/ MAT/ CMAT/ JEMAT scores and then appear for the GDPI round conducted by the institute.

Candidates with a UG degree passed from a recognised university can apply for MBA at IBMR Kolkata. It accepts degree in any discipline. However, the candidates should have the pass certificate and degree. It is required for verification purposes at the time of admission.
