For student interaction, faculty uses real-life case studies with presentations and group discussions, says Jana Sankari

I was applying for a two-year MBA programme which is a residential programme. The biggest benefit of a residential programme is campus experience. You stay on campus for complete two years with a lot of other students from diversified backgrounds. It is an opportunity to create strong networks and nourish them for the rest of your life.

I was a Science student in school days and had a great interest in Science and its related subjects. Soon after the school ended, I chose to take admission in Biotechnology course. I got admission to Biotechnology but somewhere I was not in sync with what I was pursuing and what I aspired to be. As soon as the graduation ended, I switched the domain and decided to get into management studies.

The day I decided to pursue the management stream, SSN School of Management was my first choice. The main reasons for choosing the college were excellent infrastructure and the amazing faculty members of the college. The first time I visited the college, I was impressed with the infrastructure, ambiance and hygiene of the campus. It gave me positive vibes. The admissions team and the other staff members were courteous and polite to guide us through the complete admission process.

I was applying for a two-year MBA programme which is a residential programme. The biggest benefit of a residential programme is campus experience. You stay on campus for complete two years with a lot of other students from diversified backgrounds. It is an opportunity to create strong networks and nourish them for the rest of your life. Considering the needs of every student, SSN offers accommodation facilities in both single occupancy and double occupancy. The hostel mess is decent and hygienic. There is also a canteen in the college campus. In other words, I should say that it is a home away from home.

To get admission in SSN, one has to undergo the complete admission process that includes MAT or TANCET scores followed by other procedures. I chose to appear for TANCET counseling session as it was easier to prepare for it than MAT. I didn’t find the need to undergo any coaching classes rather, I chose to prepare for the exam on my own with the help of Google. I practiced previous year question papers and sample papers in time-bound frame to analyse my strengths and weaknesses. I also read articles on last moment preparations and saw videos also to change the strategy in the last few days of the exam. I was able to clear the exam and complete the process.

Speaking of the campus, its kinda lifetime experience. The campus is spread in a huge area with greenery around. I prefer to go for a peaceful walk as soon as the classes end. The infrastructure also offers Gym facility within the campus to helps students stay physically and mentally fit. What I like the most about college is the delivery of the curriculum. All the faculty members use a lot of real-life case studies with presentations and group discussions to let students interact in the class. These ways the learning becomes fun and easier.

The college has helped me gain confidence and learn public speaking skills. It has always given me a platform to express my thoughts as a student in various situations. Apart from just classroom learnings, practical exposure has helped me grow as a person with life lessons.

The college has helped me secure a position in my field of interest. I’m in the process of attempting Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). Over a span of five years, I plan to see myself exploring the investment industry and go with it.
