From Doubts to Determination: My Ramaiah College of Law Journey

The Journey Before
As a young student in Class 9, I used to enjoy going to school and taking part in various cultural events. Then came Class 10, the nightmare of every student. The biggest challenge during Class 10 was to get good scores, which was not easy for me. I was an average student, and somehow I managed to score 81 percent in Class 10 examinations.
After passing Class 10, I was admitted to Vidya Mandira Pre University College. I had hopes that the journey would be easy after Class 10. However, studies only got harder after that. The thought of getting good scores to get a good college used to constantly revolve in my mind.
The Journey After School
In my Class 12 examination, I got a score of 75 percent. Everyone around me was disappointed after seeing my score and told me that getting into a good college would be difficult. Nonetheless, I applied for various colleges and appeared for several entrance examinations. Finally, I was selected for admission at M.S. Ramaiah College of Law.
One of the plus points of choosing this college was that it was close to my home. Additionally, M.S. Ramaiah College of Law has a great reputation in the field of Law. The course I selected for my graduation was BA LLB. It is a full-time graduation course with a fee of INR 8 Lakhs annually. My admission was done based on the CLAT score followed by a personal interview.
The College Experience
College life is not just about the enjoyment and the studying, students also have a lot of competition among themselves. College life involves many things such as lectures, assignments, examinations, projects, group discussions and fests. Writing hundreds of assignment pages and maintaining 75 percent attendance were the two things I did not enjoy during my college life. But, the fun I had with my friends, long conversations during lunch, and attending fests, were some of the things which made my college life more manageable.
I also participated in moot court competition, which was a great learning experience. The college fests were mainly fun because of my friends, they made every moment enjoyable. I did not spend a lot of time at the library, but I have to appreciate the large number of collections available, which includes thousands of books to read. I did not experience the hostel life at the campus myself, but have heard many good things about the same.
College life has its challenges, and you learn a lot of things that help you in the real world. Academic pressure often gets overwhelming, which requires a lot of planning and persistence. Many students face uncertainty about their career paths. Additionally, the fear of not being able to get placement by the college always persists. Distractions such as social media and peer pressure also impact academic performance.
Looking Back
Despite all these challenges, good time management, and help from mentors can make the journey more manageable. These are some of the things I have learnt throughout my journey. I am most thankful to my friends and mentors who helped me throughout my college life, no matter what challenges I faced. The biggest advice I can give to a fresher is to make good friends in the first year itself. Trust me, it is better to move forward with guidance.
As I am about to graduate soon, I aspire to learn more things in the field of Law to be able to sharpen my skills for my future legal career.
