A total of 109 students were awarded diplomas at the Convocation ceremony. JK Business School, India’s leading B-School, celebrated its convocation Ceremony on 1st September for PGDM batches 2016-18 and 2017-19 at its campus. 

The students were conferred by Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JK Business School, Guest of Honour Mr. Vivek Gupta, Founder and Chairman, ISON Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and Guest of Honor Mr. Varun Gupta, Director, Kent RO Systems Ltd.

Mrs. Varsha Singhania, Vice-Chairperson, JK Business School encouraged the students and shared her own experiences. She said “It is said that a human being is born twice. First, when you’re born and second when you discover the reason for your birth. Our ikigai is hidden deep inside each of us and finding it requires a patient search.” She also shared her journey of self-discovery or ikigai in Japanese. She asked the students to have a purpose in life and stressed the need to undergo self-discovery before deciding on a career.

She presented medals to all the rank holders of PGDM batch 2016-18. The list includes Varsha Tiwari (1st position, 3.68 CGPA), Anushree Nuwal (2nd position, 3.5 CGPA), and Varsha Chhokar (3rd position, 3.39 CGPA) – and to the rank holders of PGDM batch 2017-19 – Iti Sharma (1st position, 3.7 CGPA), Md. Abu Bakkar (2nd position, 3.68 CGPA), Twinkle Gaur (2nd position, 3.68 CGPA), and Piyush Khandelwal (3rd position, 3.49 CGPA). Dr. Ajay Mehta, Registrar, JK Business School oversaw the entire convocation while Dr. Richa Dahiya, Dean, JK Business School introduced the guests.

Dr. Sanjiv Marwah, Director, JK Business School, felt proud for the grand success achieved by all the students and said, “Do not go where the crowd takes you; make your own path, think for your own and most importantly, do not accept hand-me-downs.”

Over the years, the college has seen tremendous success and received many awards as a matter of appreciation. He mentioned the many initiatives taken by the college in the last few years. The leadership lectures, industry visits, workshops, and conferences were a few of the many.

  JK Business School is the ‘Asia's top institution for Industry-Academic Partnership ASSOCHAM 2019’ and being awarded the Education World Grand Jury Award for Extraordinary Leadership by Education World (All India Ranking 3) 2019.  

Dr. Marwah concluded his speech by uttering a few wise words for the graduates, emphasising that they should create their own paths and think independently.

Mr. Vivek Gupta, the guest of honour shared his personal and corporate challenges and encouraged students to work hard to achieve success in life. He detailed his journey to success with big corporations, the ups and downs he encountered along the way, and the birth of his entrepreneurial venture, ISON Technologies Pvt. Ltd. His encouraging words of pursuing one’s dreams, irrespective of one’s background, and the need to unlearn and re-learn encouraged the graduates to work hard and follow their passion.

Mr. Varun Gupta, an alumnus of Columbia University and Director, Kent RO Systems Ltd., also shared some of his personal experiences. He shared the challenges faced by his company on the way to becoming India’s top personal water treatment brand. He spoke about late President APJ Abdul Kalam in his speech and said that Mr. Kalam always urged youngsters to learn. He concluded by motivating the students and asked them to stay focused learn from failures.

The total BBA fee at Jagannath University is around INR 3.46 L, whereas JK Business School charges about INR 2.37 L. Students who are searching for budget friendly options may find JKBS slightly better in terms of affordability. However fees charged by any university depends on many parameters.

Both Jagannath University, Haryana and JK Business School offer BBA courses. Both differ in fees and packages they offer. While Jagannath's the highest salary is INR 3.6 LPA, JK Business School packages spiked up to INR 24 LPA.
