The faculty comes from various walks of life, some with corporate experience, some with academic experience, says Ankit
Since childhood, I was fascinated by the art of creating of roads, elevated corridors, tall buildings, bridges, etc. But as I grew up I realised this is all a job of a Civil Engineer. So, after Class 10 exams, when every student has to make a tough choice about stream they wish to pursue ahead, I chose Science as it will lead me to a career in Engineering.
While pursuing BTech in Civil Engineering, we were given live projects to understand real-life business problems and alongside internship was a mandatory part of our curriculum. I am a team player so while working on those projects and problems, I used to help my teammates in their assignments too. This was the time when I realised of interest in people management too. Upon completion of the BTech, I wanted to go for higher studies but in the management domain. So I researched about the specialisations available, institutes offering management courses, various courses available to me, eligibility, scope, etc.
After deep-diving into various management programmes available to me as options, I decided to go for PGDM as it is full of practical exposure. And, moreover, my interest lay in Human Resource as a specialisation.
To be a part of any management institute or programme, one has to go undergo at least one nationally accepted management qualifying exam. I appeared for CAT exam and basis the score, I was offered admission to AIMS - Atharva Institute of Management Studies. To prepare for the entrance exam, I did not feel the need to undergo any coaching classes. I used google as my preparatory tool and practised various mock tests available to upskill myself. There were no such challenges faced.
Due to the global pandemic and nationwide lockdown, we didn’t get the chance to visit campus but we have had online classes since orientation day. Though it was a totally new concept for all of us, the faculty played a major role in comforting us making sure that we have an equal quality education experience as that of the classroom learning. The faculty comes from various walks of life, some with corporate experience, some with wholesome academic experience.
Among all subjects, I like to attend the financial accounting class the most. Doing calculations, forecasting return is all the way new learning.
College life has brought several changes in me. Now that I look back, I feel more confident and responsible today.
Going forward, I aspire to be a successful HR Manager in an organization of repute.
