Salary of an MBA in India based on specialisation stream

In India and abroad students at are more inclined toward MBA for pursuing postgraduate degrees and for this reason MBA graduates are offered high pay scales by leading organisations worldwide. An MBA is a man or woman of many hats because a candidates hard and soft skills during the two years of this course are highly demanded by companies. An MBA brings diagnostic thinking and logical reasoning to an organisation. These skills help the organisation review its risks and make strategic decisions that lead to its growth and impeccable management. 

MBA graduates get a good salary that is a known fact, but the salary differs from specialisation to specialisation. Hence, we have listed down the wages that MBA graduates are offered based on their specialisation ranging from minimum to highest. 

  1. Finance: MBA in Finance is one of the most desired streams companies look for while hiring managers, and hence it is one of the highest-paid sectors in the market. The minimum salary starting for an MBA in Finance is 6 LPA. The salary may begin with 6 LPA, but it keeps increasing with experience. But some companies offer a higher salary to deserving candidates ranging from 10-14 LPA as average to even 20-22 LPA as the highest. 
  2. Marketing: Marketing is a need for every organisation out there, from start-ups to multinational companies. Thus, marketing skills are one of the essential requirements of a company. An MBA in Marketing gets INR 5-6 LPA as a minimum while INR 9-12 LPA on an average. The highest salary range for an MBA in marketing can be 18 to 20 Lakhs per annum. 
  3. Human Resources: For any organisation to run properly, it needs to be managed well. The employees are the backbone of a company, and the department overseeing the employees is essential to the company. Hence, the minimum pay scale offered to an MBA in HR is 3-5 LPA, while on average; one is offered 6-9 LPA. For an MBA in HR fresher, the highest salary offered can range up to 9 -12 LPA. 
  4. Information Technology: The current world runs on technology, and hence an MBA in IT is the need of the hour. The minimum pay scale of an MBA in IT ranges from 3-6 LPA, while on average; it ranges from 9 to 12 LPA. The highest salary offered to an MBA in IT as a beginner can even vary from 12-15 LPA. 
  5. Operations: Operations is a very versatile as well as a necessary part of any organization. An MBA in operations can take care of most departments in the organisation and act as a great leader. Thus, the minimum pay scale of an MBA in operations ranges from 2 to 6 LPA, while an average of 6 to 10 LPA is also offered to some candidates. The highest salary offered can be around 9-15 LPA to the most deserving candidates as freshers. 
  6. Business Analytics: Analytical thinking and logical reasoning are the most desired MBA skills that make this specialization competitively pursued. Business Analytics helps the organisation grow with the help of strategic decision-making. The minimum pay scale offered to an MBA in Business Analytics range from 3-5 LPA, while the average scale is 5-9 LPA. The highest scale offered to freshers is around 9-12 LPA.
