The university has a total of 5520 seats for BA programmes. In addition, the seat count varies at the affiliated colleges. Candidates are admitted to the course based on merit in last qualifying exam and as per the sanctioned seat intake. This seat intake is as per the official website/sanctioning body. For BA at AAFT, students should be Class 12 pass from a recognised board. Admission is based on the AAFT Global Entrance Exam followed by a personal interview. Once shortlisted, candidates are allotted seats depending on merit, performance, and availability across BA specialisations.

MG Kashi Vidyapith (MGKVP) has an elaborate seat reservation policy. Seats are reserved for candidates belonging to various categories. The percentage of seats reserved for each category is given below:

• 1% of seats are reserved for Handicapped candidates
• 20% of total seats are reserved for women candidates (category-wise, in respective cadre)
• 2% of total seats are reserved for dependents of Freedom Fighters
• 5% of total seats are reserved for Soldiers, Ex-Soldiers, Soldiers posted in J&K, parliamentary dependents or dependents of misplaced citizens of J&K
• 10% of total seats are reserved for dependents of the permanent employees of MGKVP

Allahabad University accepts CUET scores for admission to the UG courses and the CUET application process is usually concluded between January and March.
