The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is accepting applications for NIOS admission 2026 Block II for classes 10, 12. The NIOS 10th, 12th exam registration window for Oct/Nov 2026 exams is open. Students can register themselves for the October-November 2026 exams with the normal fee till January 31, 2026. Thereafter, the NIOS admissions can be done between February 1 and 15, 2026 with a late fee of Rs 260. Students can register for NIOS admission 2026 in online mode on the official website - nios.ac.in by filling the NIOS admission form. Candidates have to pay the requisite NIOS admission 2026 fee and upload the required documents through NIOS login, to complete the NIOS admission 2026.
Further, NIOS 10th, 12th admission 2026 window for Oct/Nov exams 2026 will remain open between February 16 and 28, 2026, with a late fee of Rs 520 and between March 1 and 15, 2026 with a late fee of Rs 910.
Candidates who have cleared class 8th and have reached 14 years of age can apply for NIOS 10th admission 2026. Those who passed class 10 can apply for NIOS 12th admission 2026.
Yes, NIOS allows students who have taken admission in the Secondary level to change their subjects. Students have to pay the fees as mentioned by the NIOS. Eligibility for NIOS 2026 Admission
Those who meet the NIOS eligibility criteria can apply for NIOS 2026 admission. Given below are the eligibility requirements that must be fulfilled by students in order to apply online for NIOS admission 2026.
Age Criteria for NIOS Admission 2026
The minimum age required for NIOS registration 2026 for Class 10 is 14 years as on July 31, whereas a student should be at least 15 years old to apply for NIOS 12th admission 2026.
Educational Qualification
NIOS 10th admission: Students must have cleared class 8 from a recognized board of education or must possess enough knowledge to sit for the class 10 exam I.e, a candidate has to give a self-certificate stating that they have studied enough to be eligible for NIOS 10th registration 2026.
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) began the registration process for the NIOS 10th, 12th public exam April-May 2026. Students appearing for NIOS board exam 2026 April-May are required to pay the exam fees through the official website, nios.ac.in. Students enrolled in stream 1, block 1 for March/April 2026 exam can pay the exam fee from Nov 21 to Dec 20, 2025 without late fee. With consolidated late fee INR 1600 Per learner, learners enrolled for April/May 2026 can pay from 01 January, 2026 to 10th January, 2026.
NIOS 12th admission: Students must have cleared class 10 from a recognized board to be eligible for NIOS class 12 registration 2026. Students who apply immediately after passing Class 10 will not be allowed to sit for the exams for all the subjects in one attempt.

Students who wish to apply for NIOS 10th, 12th admission 2026 must know that the last date to apply for NIOS Board online admission is ongoing. Students ccan apply for the NIOS admission 2026 for Oct/Nov exams till January 31, 2026 without any late fee. They can apply till February 15, 2026 with a late fee of Rs 260, till February 28, 2025 with a late fine of Rs 520, and between March 1 and 15, 2025 with a late fine of Rs 910. NIOS 12th Application Form: Important Dates

How to apply for NIOS Admission 2026?
Students can follow the steps below to register for NIOS 10th, 12th admission 2026. It should be noted that the NIOS registration can be done online only.
- Visit the official website at nios.ac.in
- Click on the Admission tab on the left and then on Academic from the scroll-down options
- Then select Stream I (Oct/Nov 2026) to apply for admission to Stream 1 Block II -2026
- The online application form will open on the screen
- Fill in the state, identity type, identity number and the course you are eligible for accurately
- Submit details
- Now, a window asking for the candidate’s basic details will open as shared below
- Verify the mobile number and email ID and submit details
- Next, a candidate can select the subjects for which they want to appear and also choose the exam centre
- Now, upload the scanned/soft copy of the documents and submit

NIOS admission 2026: List of documents required
Students applying for NIOS 2026 admission have to upload scanned copies of their academic documents and ID proof. The list of documents required for NIOS online admission 2026 is listed below:
- Aadhaar card or passport or ration card or other identity proof
- Birth certificate for proof of date of birth
- Address proof i.e. Aadhaar card/water bill/electricity bill/voter ID/ration card
- Signature (preferably in black ink)
- Recent passport-size colour photograph
- Class 8th marksheet for students applying for the secondary course or NIOS class 10
- Class 10th marksheet for students applying for the senior secondary course or NIOS class 12
- Disability certificate for PwD candidates

A student needs to pay the admission fee to complete his/her NIOS registration. The fees will have to be deposited online through NetBanking/debit card or credit card. The NIOS 10th, 12th admission fees for different category of students is given below:

The last date for NIOS 12th April/May Exam fee is Jan 10, 2026 with late fee INR 1600 per learner. Students can check the details regarding the NIOS 12th exam fee payment 2026 on NIOS 12th application page. Admit card will be issue for those who paid the exam fee. Students can visit nios.ac.in for completing the fee payment process. They have to pay the fees online.
