NIOS 12th Registration 2026 (Started for April-May): Check Last Date & How to Apply Online

The NIOS Admissions for classes 10^th and 12^th usually happen on the same dates all year round. The dates for the current academic year are as follows:

The NIOS admissions take place twice a year, Block-I in April, while the Block-II admissions take place in October, every year. The dates usually remain the same every year. Students have to check the official website nios.ac.in or sdimis.nios.ac.in. for NIOS 12th registration 2025. The NIOS admits students of Class 12 in two cycles. All eligible students can register themselves through the official NIOS website. The NIOS admissions to the Senior Secondary levels are conducted twice a year. The first cycle (Block-I) usually happens around April/May while the second cycle (Block-II) of admission is during October/November, every year.

The NIOS 12^th Registration window is open for Block-I admission. All the students who wish to appear for NIOS 12^th exams can fill out the NIOS 12th application form 2026 through the official website of NIOS and pay the required application fee.

2. Read all the instructions carefully and click on 'Register'.
3. Fill in all the details required.
4. Upload all the supporting documents.
5. Pay the required fee.
6. Save your form for future references.

NIOS 2025 Admission- Eligibility Criteria

Students who fulfill the NIOS eligibility criteria can apply for NIOS 2025 admission. Here are the eligibility conditions of online NIOS admission:
Age Limit

For NIOS 12th admission, the age should be 15 years minimum.

Minimum Education

He/she must have cleared class 10 from a recognized board to apply for NIOS class 12 registration 2025. Students who are applying immediately after passing 10th will not be allowed to sit for the exams for all the subjects in one attempt. 

All the students who will be applying for NIOS Admissions for Class 12 must have the following documents handy. Aspirants must collect all the documents mentioned below with them before applying for NIOS 12^th Admissions. 

• Recent Passport size coloured photograph
• Signature (preferably in Black Ink)
• Valid identity proof (like Aadhaar Card or Passport or Ration card or etc.)
• Valid proof of Date of Birth (like Aadhaar Card with date of birth printed on it in the dd/mm/yyyy format, Birth Certificate etc.)
• A valid proof of Residence (like Aadhaar Card with complete address printed on it, valid Passport etc.).
• Address proof i.e. Aadhaar Card/Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card/Indian
• Passport/Statement of Operational Bank Account/Appointment Letter from the Employer on Printed Letter Head, if living in rented accommodation - copy of any proof of permanent address along with present Rented Agreement
• Class 8th marksheet (in case of secondary course) or class 10th marksheet (in case of senior secondary course)
• Social category/Caste certificate (in case the learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category). Ex-serviceman certificate (in case he/she is an Ex-serviceman)
• Disability certificate (in case he/she is having any kind of disability)
• Fail Mark sheet of previous Board, failing which Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result. If TOC Board marked with (*Other) is selected then the Result should be available on the Concerned Board Website or Learner has to submit result verification letter from Concerned Board as per NIOS norms.

Stream-2, 3 and 4

Note: A learner registering under Stream-2, Stream-3, Stream-4 and desirous to take different subjects or additional subject from parent boards, will have to pay INR 720 per subject in addition to Admission/Registration Fee, Examination Fee and TOC fee.

• After filling out the online NIOS form, students should start preparing for the exams. They should read NIOS syllabus to get good marks in exams.
