NIOS 12th Applicaton Form 2026: The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) started the registration process for the NIOS 12th public exam April-May 2026. All registered learners of Oct/Nov 2025 can pay the exam fee from January 13 to January 22, 2026, without late fee. They can do the fee payment from January 23 to 27 January 27, 2026 with late fee INR 150 Per subject. They can also do the fee payment with consolidated late fee of INR 1600/- per learner from January 28 to February 1, 2026.

Students enrolled in stream 1, block 1 for March/April 2026 exam could pay the NIOS exam fee from Nov 21 to Dec 20, 2025 without late fee through the official website, nios.ac.in. They could do the fee payment from 21st December, 2025 to 31st December, 2025 with late fee INR 150 Per subject. NIOS 12th open form last date 2026 was Jan 10, 2026. The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) began the registration process for the NIOS 10th, 12th public exam April-May 2026. Students appearing for NIOS board exam 2026 April-May are required to pay the exam fees through the official website, nios.ac.in. NIOS 12th Admissions 2026: Related Dates

The NIOS admissions take place twice a year, Block-I in April, while the Block-II admissions take place in October, every year. The dates usually remain the same every year. Students have to check the official website nios.ac.in or sdimis.nios.ac.in. for NIOS 12th registration 2025. The NIOS admits students of Class 12 in two cycles. All eligible students can register themselves through the official NIOS website. The NIOS admissions to the Senior Secondary levels are conducted twice a year. Students can apply for NIOS online through sdmis.nios.ac.in. The NIOS board releases all the notifications on the NIOS portals. Q:   What is the procedure for correction in NIOS admission records?
A: 

In case, there is any discrepancy in students personal details, address, photo etc., the same should be corrected through NIOS e-services. As per the NIOS rules, correction in the admission records will be considered prior to appearing in the first examination or within 3 years of learners from the date of registration for admission upon uploading of supporting documents. Correction, if any, may be requested in such a manner that the same may be done before the issue of NIOS Admit Card so that Pass documents are issued with correct details. No request for correction will be accepted after 3 years from the date of registration. Applicable fee for above corrections, in addition to fee for revised document as per NIOS norms, will be charged online. 'the latest correction rules' will be applicable at the time of making request for correction in the record.
Please note that the revised corrected documents will be issued only after students have submittted the Origional Documents (Marksheet, Mirgration Certificate or Provisional Certificate or Final Certificate) with incorrect details issued to students by NIOS and requisite fee.

Subjects available for students at the secondary level include Hindi English Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali, Odia, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Punjabi, Assamese, Nepali, Malayalam, Arabic, Persian, Tamil, Sindhi, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, Home Science; Psychology, Indian Culture and Heritage, Painting, Data Entry Operations, Accountancy, Hindustan Music, Carnatic Music, Veda Adhyan, Sanskrit Vyakaran, Bharatiya Darshan, Sanskrit Sahitya. NIOS offers 35 subjects including 18 languages for Class 10 students. The NIOS tenth class student is required to complete a minimum of 5 subjects with a minimum of one language and a maximum of two languages, to be eligible for certification. The subjects are broadly divided into two categories- Group A and Group B. Students who fulfill the NIOS eligibility criteria can apply for NIOS 2026 admission. Here are the eligibility conditions of online NIOS admission:
Age Limit

For NIOS 12th admission, the age should be 15 years minimum.

Minimum Education

He/she must have cleared class 10 from a recognized board to apply for NIOS class 12 registration 2026. Students who are applying immediately after passing 10th will not be allowed to sit for the exams for all the subjects in one attempt. 

To appear for the NIOS 12th examinations 2025, the learners should fulfill the following eligibility criteria:

  • The student should be at least 15 years old to apply for NIOS 12th admission 2025-26.
  • The learner should have passed the secondary (10th) exams successfully
  • The learner should be enrolled with NIOS

NIOS Admissions for Class 12: Documents Required

All the students who will be applying for NIOS Admissions for Class 12 must have the following documents handy. Aspirants must collect all the documents mentioned below with them before applying for NIOS 12th Admissions. 

  • Recent Passport size coloured photograph
  • Signature (preferably in Black Ink)
  • Valid identity proof (like Aadhaar Card or Passport or Ration card or etc.)
  • Valid proof of Date of Birth (like Aadhaar Card with date of birth printed on it in the dd/mm/yyyy format, Birth Certificate etc.)
  • A valid proof of Residence (like Aadhaar Card with complete address printed on it, valid Passport etc.).
  • Address proof i.e. Aadhaar Card/Water Bill/Electricity Bill/Voter ID/Ration Card/Indian
  • Passport/Statement of Operational Bank Account/Appointment Letter from the Employer on Printed Letter Head, if living in rented accommodation - copy of any proof of permanent address along with present Rented Agreement
  • Class 8th marksheet (in case of secondary course) or class 10th marksheet (in case of senior secondary course)
  • Social category/Caste certificate (in case the learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category). Ex-serviceman certificate (in case he/she is an Ex-serviceman)
  • Disability certificate (in case he/she is having any kind of disability)
  • Fail Mark sheet of previous Board, failing which Transfer of Credit (TOC) marks will not be updated in NIOS result. If TOC Board marked with (*Other) is selected then the Result should be available on the Concerned Board Website or Learner has to submit result verification letter from Concerned Board as per NIOS norms.

Q:   How shall I appear for the NIOS improvement exam?
A: 
Candidates who are unable to secure pass marks in the NIOS Class 12 exam have to appear for the improvement exam or the Compartment exam. They have to apply for the same by paying the exam fee. In case the subject has both theory and practical parts, then the student has to take both the theory and practical exams. The application form for NIOS Improvement exams will be available on the official website. The NIOS board will release notification regarding the improvement exam after the release of the NIOS 12th result.
