WBCHSE Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme for Mathematics
According to WBCHSE exam pattern, the duration for WBCHSE Class 12 Maths is three hours and fifteen minutes. The total marks allocated for the examination is 100 — 80 marks for theory paper and 20 marks for the practical assessment.

Ten preparation tips for WBCHSE Maths exam
The students preparing for WBCHSE Class 12 Maths exams need to understand the basic concepts to secure a high score in the subject. Some of the important tips to prepare for WBCHSE Class 12 Maths exam are discussed below:
- Adequate practise: To get a good score in Maths, students need to practise the questions daily. Understand the basic concepts from the textbooks provided by the board and then solve the illustrative examples at the end of each chapter.
- Buy Reference books: After completing the syllabus of the NCERT Books, students can refer to other reference books as well. This will help in understanding the concepts clearly and learning new and interesting methods to solve a particular problem. The most important reference books for WBCHSE Class 12 Maths are R.D. Sharma, and R.S. Agarwal.
- Be familiar with the syllabus: The students should be acquainted with the entire syllabus of Mathematics before they start practising for the board exam. The questions in the examination are asked from the prescribed syllabus. Hence, after knowing the syllabus, it will be easier for students to chalk out a plan for board exam preparation.
- Solve previous year papers: Practising previous years question papers is important for every student preparing for board exams. This will help them in increasing their confidence level as well as managing time during the exam. - Focus on your weak areas: Take mock tests and analyse the paper. Identify the weak areas, make a note of the same and then start working on these areas. - Be calm, don’t panic: Mathematics is a scoring subject. Therefore, while solving question answers, the students should stay calm and focused. This will help in boosting the confidence level to achieve the best result.
