OP Jindal Global University launches five Japan Study Abroad Programmes for summer 2026 to boost global education.

O.P. Jindal Global University announces five short-term study abroad programmes in Japan for Summer 2026. These courses offer academic rigor, cultural immersion, and global learning across leading Japanese universities. This is significant for India and Japan's educational ties.

JGU has announced that five new ST-SAPs for summer 2026 will be undertaken between 15 June and 3/4 July 2026. The programmes will give rigorous academic exposure and cultural immersion across five prestigious institutions to all attendees:

1. University of Tokyo, Tokyo

Theme: Japan in a Globalized World

Dates: 15 June – 3 July 2026

2. Chuo University, Tokyo

Theme: Global Japan: Understanding Law, Economics, and Society

Dates: 15 June – 3 July 2026

3. University of Yamanashi, Yamanashi

Theme: AI and Humanities: Applications in SDGs

Dates: 15 June – 4 July 2026

4. Kyorin University, Tokyo

Theme: Tradition Meets Tomorrow: Explore Japan’s Heritage, Economy, and Society

Dates: 15 June – 3 July 2026

5. Musashi University, Tokyo

Theme: To be announced

Dates: 15 June – 3 July 2026

The convocation celebrated the graduation of over 4,400 students from JGU’s 12 Schools and Institutes. Many important guests were also present, including legal experts, diplomats, and senior officials.

Professor (Dr.) C. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU, said: “This significant expansion of our study abroad programmes in Japan reflects JGU’s steadfast commitment which globalises Indian higher education and creates meaningful pathways for our students to engage with the world. Japan stands at the forefront of innovation, governance, culture, and sustainable development, and these programmes represent an extraordinary opportunity for immersive learning. By building one of the largest India–Japan academic networks, JGU is contributing to strengthening bilateral relations and preparing globally minded graduates equipped to address the complex challenges of our time.”

Several governors of indian states also attended the programme, which include Vinai Kumar Saxena (Delhi), Hari Babu Kambhampati (Odisha), Arif Mohammed Khan (Bihar) ,Justice (Retd.) S. Abdul Nazeer (Andhra Pradesh), and Shiv Pratap Shukla (Himachal Pradesh). Each Governor spoke about service, building the nation through education, compassion, and lifelong learning.
