TCS & LIBA join hands to launch PGDM course on Business Analytics

PGDM course on Business Analytics

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the leading global IT services, consulting and business solutions organisation has announced its partnership with Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA), to launch first-of-its-kind management programme on Business Analytics. The course will be offered by LIBA from the next academic year, 2017-18. The course has been designed keeping in mind the growing demand for Business Analytics in India. 

This management course aims at bridging the skill gap existing in the industry. Candidates can opt to choose the course in full time or part time mode. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of Vice President, HR, TCS, Mr. Ranjan Bandyopadhyay and Director of LIBA, Fr.P.Christie, S.J. Other academicians from LIBA and senior management representatives from TCS were also present during the signing of the MoU. 

The duration of the course will be one year and initially, the intake will be around 30-35 seats. The course has been designed by TCS and will be run by LIBA. Considering the increasing demand of business analytics, LIBA and TCS are now ready to offer a course that will add value to the students of LIBA. Talking to a leading daily, Mr. Ranjan Bandyopadhyay said, “Analytics is emerging as a key growth area spanning industries. The need of the hour is talent that can work on delivering carefully crafted analytics solutions insights and recommendations to businesses. TCS designed courses bring in contemporary application oriented inputs to the class room thorough its academic collaboration. We are delighted to partner with LIBA in the field of analytics.” 

The main highlight of the course is the Train the Trainer Program (TTT) Program’ wherein the faculty of LIBA will be provided industry knowledge by the specialists of TCS. The course designed by TCS will also be inclusive of a one year Executive diploma in Business Analytics that will train the experienced professionals through weekend or part time programmes. 

LIBA is the first B-School in India to partner with TCS to offer Business Analytics as a specialisation for management student. Mr. Ranjan Bandyopadhyay added there are numerous job opportunities being created in the digital world and it is expected that by 2020, about 200,000 business data analysts and around 1 million data managers and data visualisers will be required.
