Admissions to IIMs and other top MBA colleges in India through CAT usually close at 94 percentile. So, what should students with CAT 80 to 90 percentile do? They need not worry as there are a good number of well reputed colleges for them too. Shiksha has listed down top MBA colleges accepting CAT score 80 - 90 percentile below.

CAT 80-90 percentile range

MBA colleges accepting CAT cut offs 80 to 90 percentile - Every candidate strives to score 99 percentile but the competition is so high in CAT, that the percentile falls even if there is a difference of decimals in candidates' scores. However, low score in CAT is not the end of MBA dream. There are over 1,300 MBA colleges in India which accept CAT score for admission. A large number of these colleges, private as well as government, accept CAT score in the range of 80 to 90 percentile. 

Aspirants who score 90 percentile and above in CAT have greater chances of getting shortlisted for the Group Discussion (GD), Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI) round of top B-schools. But those who score less than 90 percentile in CAT, shoukld not feel disheartened. Even if your CAT result is 90 percentile or lower than that, you can secure a seat at a top MBA/PGDM college. Many well reputed MBA colleges have CAT cut offs in the range of 80-90 percentile. CAT exam, aspirants must check what are the CAT cut offs and admission criteria of their target colleges so that they can prepare accordingly. MBA Admission Through CAT: Key Highlights

  • CAT is a nationally recognised MBA entrance exam and is accepted by over 1,300 management institutes.
  • CAT is accepted by private as well as government institutes including central and state universities.
  • Check the selection criteria of CAT 90 percentile colleges for MBA admission before applying
  • Selection criteria of CAT 80 percentile colleges for MBA admission is same as CAT 90 percentile colleges
  • Every institute has a minimum CAT cut off, and they select only those candidates who have scored same or above the cut off.
  • CAT cut offs differ category wise. Admission cut offs are higher for General category students in comparison to EWS, NC-OBC, SC, ST or PwD category students.
  • Only meeting the CAT cut off won't ensure admission. Candidates will have to clear the GD-PI round of the B-School as well.
