B.E. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2023
4.0
Review of Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: There were around 80% students placed in my college based on their skills and performance. The highest package was 7.7 LPA and lowest was 4.6 LPA. The top companies for the civil engineering department were Eagle Infrastructure, Larsen and Toubro (L&T) , Lodha Shapoorji palonjiwala and Eshan Developers. I was offered the roles of civil site engineer in Eshan Developers.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure was good and there we students had proper labs and also each classroom has AC and Smart boards. Hostels were like an apartment; each room was a 1-bedroom flat, with every room having 4 students and mess food that was tasteful and the owner of the mess was quite a friendly person.
Faculty: The teachers were very helpful in my civil engineering department as we had very vast syllabus and less time to cover everything during every semester but teachers helped us time to time. Along with book knowledge, we were also given site knowledge, as there was a once-a-week site visit for students, which made us ready for jobs and industry.

The campus is huge with a good environment. The college is far away from the railway station.
Placements: There are no placements in the civil engineering department. Our college provides various internships in companies like JSW, ACC, Godrej, Lodha and many more nearby industries and construction sites. An internship is provided to various students. Various industrial visits are provided in solid waste management sites of the municipality and various construction sites like Lodha, etc.
Infrastructure: The college provides biometric facilities, a gym centre, playground, bus facilities, medical facilities, library, labs, workshop and auditorium. The facilities provided in the hostel are not so good, and the quality of food served is not good. Sports and games are conducted on the college campus.
Faculty: Teaching staff members are very supportive, and they try to communicate with students. They will help us if we need any help. They are highly qualified like M.Tech, ME and PhD. Few are fresher staff members. Exam level is quite difficult as it is conducted under the guidance of Mumbai University.
Other: I have chosen this course because it provides vast knowledge in the field of construction. There are very few companies and industries in a civil engineering course and few vacancies, and they expect students to have experience of 5-10 years. Companies should atleast provide apprenticeships and internships if they cannot provide jobs. Various scholarships are provided for online admission through the Mahadbt scholarship. Various events like Matru Devo Bhava, Shivjayanti, Republic Day, bike rallies, Garba, technofest, etc., are organised here. Our college also conducts extracurricular activities like Robotech, solar power projects and many mini-projects. The campus is huge, with a green environment. There are poor network connectivity and electricity issues.

Recommended, if you want less attendance issue.
Placements: There are less percentage of students placed, Average package is around 2.5lpa. Not many student get internship as most of them don't apply. Mostly students here aren't interested in getting job or internship. College puts it's effort sometimes, Most of the practical equipment not working .
Infrastructure: The faculty changes every year and the faculty has very low knowledge of some subject and some are pretty good at some subject, food is cheap here, quality is adequate. Sports are played if you are interested you can join different teams. Medical facilities is not available .
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Teaching quality is some times good, some time you will be sleeping in lecture. The institute comes under Mumbai University. The curriculum is decided by University and the curriculum is outdated, they are trying to improve every year .
Other: I had other option in suburban colleges but they were if different stream, as I wanted to do civil engineering only so I compromised with this institution. The college crowd is not at all good. Events, FEAT campus crowd are all the worst. You will not enjoy any of them, you will curse yourself for four years for selecting this college. But there is less attendance issue compared to other college in Mumbai University.

Our college provides good placements and knowledge.
Placements: Around 30% of the students get campus placements from our college. The highest salary package offered was 9.4 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 8 LPA. Top companies like L&T, Lodha Constructions, and Ambuja were the top recruiting companies of our college. Almost 45% of the students got the internship programme in L&T and Bhanu constructions. Most of the students got high salary packages around 10.9 LPA. Roles like an assistant engineer and assistance surveyor were offered.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is well and good. We have good ground, labs and a good hostel facility. No complaints reported till now. Only one issue was raised in between, for clean water, but now it is solved completely. The library is also good in the environment, and all books are available so that students get extra knowledge from them. Hostel environment good with the natural and silent environment so that students can study easily.
Faculty: Faculty members of our college are good enough because most of them have completed their masters and some are pursuing it. They are knowledgeable. The teaching methodology is also good and easy to understand things, but for industry, students need extra classes and gain more knowledge.
Other: I chose this firm because I like to construct things with some innovative idea as an engineer. Students should get new studying material so that it helps to understand things easily. All activities like techfest, build o bridge, games, etc., are performed and enjoyed in our college

The best college for all the branches.
Placements: The college provides many and good placement opportunities for the students of all branches, and even the senior batch has got good placement offers in reputed companies like TCS, Jio, etc. The salary package offered was 2-3 LPA, which is not bad for any fresher or any other student who takes admission in the downside colleges in Mumbai and also for the students with good percentage in academics.
Infrastructure: The college was established in the year 2008, and the infrastructure is excellent. Recently, they have started constructing a new building with a new and modern lavish look which is required for an engineering college. The labs are well-equipped, clean and are air-conditioned.
Faculty: The senior faculty members are well-experienced and punctual. Our HOD is well-experienced. But, the new faculty members are not experienced and are not able to handle the class. Educom facilities are provided in every class so that the students can get the information about advanced studies.
Other: The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled, and the speed is high. The canteen is properly cleaned, which is a major attraction for students in every college. The college also encourages extra activities like food fest and selfie fest. Events like fresher's day are also organised for the refreshment of students after the hectic academic schedule.

Alamuri Ratnamala Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: The college has no placements, but currently, I heard that the management is making efforts for placement opportunities. The companies visit the campus but select hardly any students. The students usually get placed by placement agencies externally. The civil students usually don't get placed easily, but previous HOD had made it possible, but this, it is not the condition with current HOD.
Infrastructure: The college is newly established in the year 2008, and the infrastructure is excellent. The entire campus has internet access through Wi-Fi. The labs are well-equipped, clean, and air-conditioned. There are many computers at students disposal, and all are in good condition. The library has volumes of books. The students beware of CCTV cameras. One major complaint is that electricity goes down frequently in the area. However, the college has made provision for that by installing high capacity generators and full UPS backup for the entire college.
Faculty: Department of the civil doesn't have as good faculty as others. In fact, it had during my tenure. Over there, as a student, they left owing to the dictatorship like the behavior of HOD of civil which was surprisingly favoured by the management. Other departments have had good faculty members. I can say that civil department is working only on visiting facilities arranged by HOD which are also not much experienced or good for work.
Other: A very famous event named Mathru Devo Bhava is celebrated on 22nd February every year for saluting the mothers. Recently, a huge number of cultural, sports, and many events has been started by the management for nourishing the student skills. Marathons, Traditional meets, etc., is organised by the student unions of Shahapur along with the college support.

It is a good college for only studies.
Placements: Placement is not much good because the criteria for eligibility in the placement are more. You have to clear all the semesters till the last without a drop. The package is also not good because it is offering 1 LPA for the freshers and for me, it is very less. In the previous year, I heard that the total students got placement is 20 out of 5000, which is not great.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is also not great as compared to AR Kalsekar as I have passed my diploma from there. Compared to Tahta, I would like to rate 2 out of 10. So, I don't like the college infrastructure very much. But it is renovating now. We are hoping for the best, and it is improving day by day.
Faculty: The faculty members are great, but some of them have the attitude. Some are so good that their lecture is not missed out by at least one student. Coming to other faculty members, the class is full of bunk, but the only thing is that one subject is taught by two staff because almost all the faculty members are leaving.
Other: Fests are great in this college.

The worst faculty, worst infrastructure, and everything is the worst. Stay away from this college.
Placements: There are 0.01% placements in this college. Don't try to expect that from this college. Once in a year, some 2-3 students from almost 600 students get placed. And they show off this by using SMS. I wonder, which company will go in that barren land for giving placements. The maximum package if someone gets is 2 LPA.
Infrastructure: I am giving 4 out of 10 for this. Don't even trust on the college photo which is given on the brochure. They have just edited it, adding some extra greenery on the campus. They made a separate arrangement for civil engineering degree student. And believe me, that building is the worst than the new one. In summer vacation, there is no electricity. You can imagine, how the lectures will be going on there. There is no arrangement for this issue. No machine is in good condition for civil engineering students. I have never seen UTM machine working, over the course of my career.
Faculty: We had only one good teacher who was best in teaching his subject, Mr Ajay sir. But unfortunately, God has taken him away from us. He died in a bike accident in 2017. By the way, he was teaching the structural subject. Rest all the staff is useless. They teach any subject that if the principal asks them to teach. There are only 2-3 members in the civil department. The college just brings the M.E students to the college for teaching. They do not have any teaching skills. The teachers get changes in every semester.
Other: If I say about management, then this thing also joins in the category of the worst part of the college. If there is no management, there is nothing. One day for collecting any form, and one full day for submitting it. You can imagine how big the queue will be. At last, I want to say just one thing, join this college only just to get a degree for the namesake. Otherwise, find some better college.
