AMC Organises Webinar With Dr Philip Kotler

August 30, 2021: With its webinars, AMC Engineering College seeks to present its audience with current knowledge required in today's dynamic structures, and who better to do it than Dr Philip Kotler, the ‘Father of Marketing.’ Kotler has made a name for himself in the realm of marketing on several levels. He is a renowned educator, an accomplished author of more than 50 books, a well-travelled speaker, a social activist, and a trusted consultant to some of the world's most well-known corporations. This webinar provided excellent knowledge on the ins and outs of marketing to those who attended. The do's and don'ts, as well as some helpful hints.

The modern world is unpredictable, and the global economy is moving at a breakneck pace. Despite having a number of constants to its credit, the Marketing industry continues to face countless changes and problems on a daily basis. Staying current and having a thorough comprehension of the subject matter are essential for staying on top of your game, both monetarily and socially. In this webinar, Dr Kotler discussed the seven perspectives on how marketing and businesses are changing. He discussed the key functions in a corporation, how anything other than these obligations turns into costs by default, and how to reduce them for improved organisation performance. He educated the audience on the emotional components that play a role in decision-making as humans, and how this influences a variety of things for a company or product. A number of preventative steps for modern-day businesses were also emphasized, such as the importance of always contemplating the wider picture before embarking on anything significant. What features of a company should be noted, the obstacles faced by students in today's tumultuous world, and the notion that greater marketing leads to a better world were just a few of the notable subjects that were covered. The topic of how to deal with unusual circumstances and how to make the best of them was also explored.

With roughly 15,600 registrants on YouTube, the webinar was a success. Dr Kotler gave his audience vital information on his seven books, which contain all of the information that was presented. The books cover a wide range of issues, including how to use marketing in an increasingly digital world, the necessity of STP, the evolution of marketing eras, branding, social media marketing, health care marketing, and so on, all of which were discussed in this forum. Dr. Kotler was enthusiastic about the notion of forming a marketing club on the AMC campus to commemorate the marketing guru's 90th birthday, and to name it after him, the ‘Philip Kotler Club 90.’

AMC Organises VUCA Webinar With Prof. David Lewin from UCLA Anderson School of Management

August 30, 2021: The VUCA webinar was held by Professor David Lewin from UCLA Anderson School of Management with the goal of bridging the gap between people's accurate comprehension of ‘VUCA and its applications in the current world.’ This webinar covers a wide range of subjects for entrepreneurs, students, social media superstars, bankers, academics, journalists, and researchers, among others. The Professor gave his audience an overview of VUCA's concepts and what it stands for. The current Covid-19 virus has put the entire planet on lockdown, making this one of the most dangerous times in the history of the VUCA world. The changes that have occurred since the beginning of the epidemic are massive and occur in real-time.

Leadership is in limited supply everywhere. Leaders are ill-equipped to effectively lead. Command and control structures fail in this fast-changing and disruptive environment. On partial or insufficient information, leaders are supposed to act. They are unsure where to begin in order to effect change, given the complexity of the situation has grown. Leaders who don't have enough time to reflect end up acting too soon or too late as a result of analysis paralysis. They are cut off from the source and must act with just a rudimentary comprehension of events and their implications. As we try to recover from this catastrophe, the role and kind of leadership are being put to the test.

Leaders can't forecast the future, but they can make sense of it if they want to succeed. This webinar looked at the obstacles that leaders are facing at this important time and how they can be turned into opportunities. Although VUCA may appear to be unavoidable in some industries, you can manage yourself, your team, and your company to reduce its consequences. You can even take advantage of it. Breaking down VUCA into its component pieces and identifying volatile, uncertain, complex, or ambiguous circumstances are crucial insights into managing in this context.

The Professor informed the audience that each type of issue has its own set of causes and solutions, necessitating the need to focus on one factor at a time. Prof. Lewin offered a framework for dealing with VUCA threats during his webinar. He proposed that one combat volatility with vision, meet uncertainty with understanding, respond to complexity with clarity, and combat ambiguity with agility. In an industry or company influenced by VUCA, he finished this informative webinar by noting, “You have a choice."

You can either let VUCA ‘manage,’ overloading and overwhelming you, or you can accept and manage it so that you and your team can reduce its consequences. Accepting VUCA makes you and your team less susceptible, and it equips everyone to deal with uncontrollable, unpredictable forces. VUCA can be viewed as a challenge to enhance one's leadership and management skills, or it can be viewed as a chance to make one's team more effective by focusing on the correct areas, he said.

Good faculty members and decent placements.

Placements: AMC Engineering College offers decent infrastructure, good faculty members, and placements mainly in CSE and ECE branches. Top companies like Wipro, Accenture, and Infosys visit. Average package is around 5 LPA to 6 LPA. Placement support can vary by branch. Placements are good here.

I am not satisfied with this college because of the placement.

Placements: In terms of placements, the percentage is very low, only 2 to 3% of students get placed in this college. Don’t mention the highest or lowest package because those who get placed receive only 3 to 4 LPA. No one gets internships from companies. All students have paid internships only. Lastly, only 4 to 5 students in my college got placed, and they all got trainee developer jobs. This is not a good college for placements. It is average to below average.

A very mediocre and average college.

Placements: Around 85% of students will be offered placements. The highest salary package offered was 18 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered was 4 LPA, from what we know. Microsoft, IBM, Google, and TCS are among the recruiters. Various internship opportunities are available during the course, but a good CGPA is required to enroll. Many competitive programs and hackathons also take place.

It has good infrastructure. There is a well-maintained and big campus.

Placements: To be honest, about 30-50% of students get placed and others are left unemployed. The average package ranges from 3-4 LPA. Some of the companies that visit the college for on-campus hiring are Cognizant, Accenture, Tech Mahindra, etc.

AMC Engineering College, Bengaluru.

Placements: In AMC Engineering College, I chose CSE AI/ML in which 70% of students got placed. The highest package offered is more than 25 LPA. The average package offered is 6 LPA-7 LPA, and the median package offered is 5 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, TCS, and Capgemini visit our college. Among 70% of students got an internship from the CSE department.

College is average, but if there are not many options, it is better.

Placements: There are very few companies this year and placements are average. A very good CGPA is required for placement and exams are very hard. This year, there are no good companies. Maximum placement salary package is 18 LPA and the average salary package is 3 LPA - 4 LPA. In previous years, companies like Microsoft, IBM, and others were present.
