B.Tech. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering - Batch of 2017
3.4
It is a good college, but the teaching is excellent.
Placements: Placements in our college were average. Placements were conducted along with National Institute of Science and Technology (NIST) which is one of the reputed colleges of Orissa. Many reputed MNCs like Infosys, Wipro and Mindtree visited the campus for placements. Since the number of students is quite hight, the placement rate is also high. However, the college provides opportunities to deserving candidates in all reputed MNCs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. Laboratories are good. A communication lab is available which is good for students to improve their communication. It has an audio-visual system to learn things easily. The college provides 24x7 Wi-Fi facility. The library is good and has a rich collection of books. Classrooms are well-equipped with all modern facilities.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and experienced. They all are postgraduates, and some of them have completed their doctorate. An industrial visit was organised for our batch. Teaching methods are quite good when compared to other colleges nearby. Board and projector are used for discussing complex topics. Some topics are taught in the laboratory for a better understanding.
Other: A tech fest is organised every year. Various events are conducted on some special days like College Ke Tasanbaaz, and it is organised with radio partner 92.3 FM. There are many clubs like electronics hobby club, robotics club etc.

This is the best college in my life.
Placements: This college is good if you are smart and intelligent in other activities like English and the small courses like CAT, etc., which help you in getting the best placement in the best company. The companies will hire a perfect student to boost their company to the top. Students should be perfect in all other fields.
Infrastructure: The faculty members in our college campus are good. To improve your performance in SD better in branch to teach who to improved u r self and best speed of Wi-Fi to help to connect internet to discovered new infor and play a tournament of cricket all branch participate and very good environment.
Faculty: The faculty members in our college are good and helpful. They help us to improve ourselves. The teaching methods are easy. They help the students to prepare for exams. They give short answers to save time. We have industrial visits for students. We learn the subject practically.
Other: The campus is good in all aspects.

Averagely satisfied as I got many thing to learn apart from studies.
Placements: The placement for our senior batch was much better than us. For our batch, only 6-7 companies were available, and those companies took only a few people in the placements. As a whole, around 20% to 30% of the students got placement through our college and others by their own effort. The students who got recruited went by an average salary of 2 LPA to 3 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college campus was equipped with all the facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and medical facility. The sports and games were a bit on the lower side. The food quality in the canteen was somewhere in between lower and average. The hostel rooms were good, but congested, as 5 people were residing in a single room which was for 4 people.
Faculty: The teachers were good and qualified, but not many of them were qualified as required for a college teacher. The teaching quality was good but not better. The teachers never tried to help poor students but only helped the students who could score marks in the exam. We didn't get any industry experience. The course curriculum was somewhat better.
Other: There was tech fest every year which was organised by the senior batch. It was great fun.

According to me, I would rate it 5/5 and it is a best college.
Placements: This college has a good placement record. Those who have a good academic record and carry more than 60% had more chances to get placement in good MNC companies like Wipro and Infosys. This institute gave PPT classes which would help us in on-campus and off-campus placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good as it is situated near NH5 at Pahal. It has all the facilities that an engineering college needs. It has good infrastructure and well-planned buildings and has a good area for parking and playground also. It has not more infrastructure like other big colleges but has an average position.
Faculty: This college has talented faculty members and helpful which an institute needs. They help their students how to get the jobs and how to increase their knowledge in software firms. They give extra classes about how to qualify the written exams and vivas.
Other: This college celebrates its anniversary every year and also annual functions. It also arranges welcome ceremonies for the newcomers and arranges farewell for most seniors. It arranges tech fest every year and also robotic programme by which many other college students attend and show their programs with us and selected programs are rewarded. It also gives the scholarship to the students who have the financial problem.

Good infrastructure and facilities. A bit dissatisfied with the campus placement.
Placements: Apex Institute of Technology and Management provides campus placement for the final year students every year. Honestly speaking, the provided campus placements are mostly from IT and software industries, not from the core industries. Still, a good number of students in my batch as well as in the senior batch from all branches have been placed through the campus and well settled. A lot of students have already been placed in companies like Infosys, Wipro, TechMahindra, Goalsr, Keeves, Hexaware, etc. with a package of 4 lakhs per year to 2 lakhs per year. As most of the companies are from IT industries, students are offered the role of system engineer, software developer and some of our seniors are the project leader in those companies.
Infrastructure: Frankly, our college does not has a big infrastructure like other engineering colleges. But still, it has provided a lot of facilities within the campus. It has provided Wi-Fi facility of 5-6 Mbps on the campus. The classrooms are neat and clean with projector facility but not air-conditioned. In Apex, classes are taken regularly and really studies and practical at labs are given much priority. The labs from all the branches are satisfactory. All sorts of advanced systems and all types of equipment are available in the labs. It has a library providing all sorts of books and magazines on technical subjects as well as personality development, entrance related books, grammar, aptitude, reasoning, management, etc. It has a reading room in which students can read magazines and newspapers in their free time. There is not a big playground for sports facilities but there is a small field in which students can practice cricket, volleyball, etc. Indoor games like pool are also there. I can't say that the quality of food in the canteen is very good but it is fine as the price is also not high. Hostels are not on the college campus. Hostels are someway far from the college. But students are provided with bus facility. I didn't face any big issue related to the infrastructure apart from little problems like the food in the canteen on some days.
Faculty: The faculty members are really helpful, experienced, and friendly. No one ever complained regarding the help from faculty. Their teaching methods are very good and they show interest in teaching the students. There was a good number of faculty members but nowadays it has been reduced as the number of students has also reduced. In the mechanical branch, the number of faculty members is very few. We got industry exposure at our time. The course curriculum was useful.
Other: Internal exams and viva in practicals are conducted from time to time. All the students are given an ID and password in the online information system which can be accessed from the college Wi-Fi. From this, the students can keep their academic records, college notices, project, presentation submission, and educational material.

You would not find any better college to study. Very disciplined environment with dedicated faculty.
Placements: Placement is quite good. Companies like Infosys, Wipro, Tech Mahindra Ltd., Keeves Technology, Hexaware Technologies, PerfectVIPS, Medhaj, Techno Concept, HCL recruit our college students. And if you have talent then you do not need to go for off-campus selection. You will get many job opportunities in the college campus recruitment drive. So you need not worry about the campus placement. All you need to do is focus on your studies and follow faculty members' advice.
Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is good enough for studies. The environment is very good for studies. They provide fairly good facilities to the students. The college campus has a library with pin drop silence and studious environment, a large conference hall. The classrooms are very well furnished.
Faculty: Apex is a very good college for students here. The whole college faculty has a dedication for quality education. They really work hard for the students' success. All of them are very generous and kind. Every time you need them, they are always there for you.
Other: Join this college if you want to focus only on studies as this college is very strict for discipline. However, you can enjoy college festivals. The college organises two tech fests known as Imulse and Zephyre where you can showcase your talent. Other colleges also participate in these tests.

Satisfied because of well educated faculty, good placements in 2015 and 16, really good campus.
Placements: In our college, for our branch, there is a placement cell. Some students are enrolled through some off-campus drives held at other colleges. Some students are also placed in TCS, Tech Mahindra, Ashok Leyland, Capgemini, Wipro. 20% of total students were placed each year. The packages are normal and slightly differ from company to company (2.0-2.20L per annum). Moreover, they are posted as a technical assistant, junior software developer. There is no internship provided by the college. You have to search internships externally.
Infrastructure: The whole campus is Wi-F- enabled. Labs are very good. Wide rooms with hi-tech machines, medical facilities are available in college. Annual sports meet is there. The quality of labs and classrooms is too good. The canteen although is good, food's quality is not that good. The hostels are provided by the college to general students, not to self-financing students. There are no other issues related to the infrastructure of the college.
Faculty: Faculty members are good, experienced, knowledgeable and student-oriented. The learning process are inhibited with smart classrooms. The student-teacher ratio is 48:2. Sometimes the students go for some industrial visits. The course is under BPUT.

Disappointed with intolerant (narrow minded) people (students and lecturers)
Placements: The major companies that come to this college are Infosys and Wipro. I got placed in Infosys along with 4 other students out of 115 students who appeared the placement session conducted by Infosys. Around 7 to 9 students were placed in Wipro (14 in total including Infosys and Wipro) in my batch and were offered the position of Systems Engineer and Software Developer. Once students are placed in a company there are not allowed to sit for further placements (if the package offered is low as compared to the placed company). Companies like Infosys and Wipro offer 3.2 lakh package, which is the maximum. Other companies like Shield Watch and Suderlan Infotech also visit the campus (NIST, Berhampur) where they hire students to work for customer assistance/support (call center). Some students got internship at BSNL and they had to work without any stipend and were instead expected to pay for it.
Infrastructure: The entire college has 2 buildings, 1 was a MBA block (which is abandoned currently and sold to a local college) and another is the main block. And of course, there is a ground which is out of maintenance. The facilities include, WiFi, Classrooms, Library, Sports (cricket, volley ball), Computer labs and Books. The labs use outdated computers, among which, half of them doesn't turn on. The food provided by the hostel mess was so pathetic that I had to leave my hostel and had to rent a room with 2 other friends. I was in hostel for 2 years (during the course duration of 4 years) and the rooms where spacious and good. Except that, they had rented that hostel and now they have shifted it to a different place. Now the hostel is nearly 20kms far away from the college.
Faculty: There is only one lecturer who is very good and above average (Mr. Ajay Anand), who is a pass out from MIT, USA. I did my major project under him and was awarded the best project award for developing an open source browser based simulator for CNC lathe turning. The teaching methods under use over there are absolute, and you can hardly find a person without a backlog. I had 20 backlogs in tenure of 4 years (although, I've cleared them). The course curriculum is designed by BPUT (the university to which the college is affiliated to) and they follow really good curriculum as compared to the international standards (also the books they provide are excellent). But the sad part is, they teach students so that they can pass the exam not to excel at something. There is a pre-placement training, which starts in 3rd year and generally the placements happen in 4th year. The student to faculty ratio was around 40:1, (currently 30:2). The total number of students have now reduced to less than 100.
Other: Overall, they charged me 4 lakhs for the course and I didn't pretty much get what I expected. Teachers will never want a guy and girl together, nor do they have broad insights about social life and goodness, instead they are highly judgemental over almost everything. The only thing I'm happy with in this college was, I didn't waste my time, as my attendance was 20% yet I had no issues to attend the final exams and hence I used that time efficiently learning programming and other soft skills.
