The National Testing Agency deleted a few topics from JEE Mains syllabus and thus reduced the syllabus in 2024. After 2024, no changes have been made to the exam syllabus. Therefore, aspirants of JEE Mains 2027 can refer to the JEE syllabus from the previous year (2026) to prepare for the exam. JEE Mains Reduced Syllabus 2027
JEE Mains Reduced Syllabus 2027: NTA is expected to follow the same revised syllabus in 2027, which has been followed from 2024 to 2026. The syllabus of JEE Mains 2027 exam will be available with the information brochure of the exam at jeemain.nta.nic.in, soon. The students who will appear for JEE Mains 2027, should prepare for the exam using the 2026 syllabus. If there is any change in the JEE Main 2027 syllabus, the same will be notified by NTA.

JEE Main 2027 Syllabus Deleted
The JEE Main 2027 syllabus will continue to align with the rationalised NCERT Class 11 and 12 textbooks, maintaining the major syllabus reductions implemented by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The following breakdown details the chapters and topics deleted across Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
NTA reduced the JEE Mains syllabus due to the following reasons:
- To sync the entrance exam with the post-COVID rationalised school curriculum and to minimise student stress.
- The NTA committee consulted with over 40 education boards from various states and the central government in India. The aim was to create a fair starting point so that candidates from different regional boards would not be unfairly affected by topics missing from their local courses.
- To align the syllabus with National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 guidelines.
- To eliminate redundant and outdated content.

Chemistry saw the largest number of cuts, with several entire chapters removed from both physical and inorganic sections.

If you have focused while studying, then it will be easy to prepare for the exam otherwise, you may find it difficult. NCERT textbook is the best for Chemistry and Physics. Time required to cover JEE Main syllabus changes from one student to another student. In general, to complete the entire JEE Main syllabus, students would require around 1 year. It is advised that students prepare for the exam strictly as per the syllabus and do not leave any topic to prepare for the exam.
While NCERT books are good to begin the JEE Mains preparation, students should not study only NCERT.
