BITSoM opens admissions for MBA Class of 2026 – 28 : Increases intake from 160 to 240 for the flagship MBA programme
BITS School of Management (BITSoM), the Mumbai-based business school under the aegis of BITS Pilani, has announced admissions open for its two-year residential MBA, commencing June 2026. BITSoM has increased its 2026 intake from 160 to 240 seats for the upcoming academic year, reflecting growing application numbers since the programme's launch. This will be the sixth cohort of the flagship MBA programme.
The programme brings in global faculty from leading business schools, including Wharton, NYU Stern, Kellogg, Chicago-Booth, University of Texas at Austin, USC Marshall, Johns Hopkins University, and SMU Singapore. The visiting faculty model allows for an agile curriculum that has been updated with a spectrum of courses on applying AI to business. Along with the traditional MBA curriculum, BITSoM places an emphasis on developing soft skills and leadership capability, with individual attention and a parallel track called “Winning at the Workplace".
“There is strong demand from recruiters for talent that can draw business value from AI and related technologies. With the upgraded curriculum and ability to bring in stellar global faculty, I am confident that BITSoM is one of the best places for a young manager to prepare for the AI future, whether they be from a technical or a non-technical background", said Dr Saravanan Kesavan, Dean and Professor of Operations, BITSoM. "With our expanded intake next year, we are excited to extend the BITSoM learning experience to more aspiring leaders. Here, students experience more than just world-class teaching; they are also part of an ecosystem that instils innovation, empathy, and resilience.”
Admissions Process
Admissions are based on a comprehensive evaluation of standardised test scores (CAT, GMAT, or GRE – any one is required), academic records, extracurricular and co-curricular achievements, demonstrated leadership potential, and strong communication skills. The school emphasises building a diverse class across gender, academic backgrounds, work experience, and interests.
Work experience is not mandatory and BITSoM encourages applications from fresh graduates as well as experienced professionals. Applicants must hold a recognised undergraduate or postgraduate degree in any discipline from an accredited Indian institution or international university or be in their final year of study. The application process is entirely online, and the Round 1 deadline was November 16, 2025.
Campus Facilities
Enrolled students will have the opportunity to experience vibrant campus life at the new BITS Pilani Mumbai Campus (near Kalyan), a state-of-the-art, digital-first and fully residential facility. Spread around 60+ acres, the campus has 80% open, aesthetically landscaped green spaces, modern classrooms, a library, multimedia studios (including video and podcast rooms), a startup incubation centre, and extensive sports and recreation facilities.
Prospective students may visit the school’s website www.bitsom.edu.in for detailed information on eligibility criteria, application requirements, and the admissions timeline.
