Review of Avichi College of Arts and Science.
Placements: The college is good but not at all, so many companies will come for recruitment, but some well-known companies will come for interviews. Students who get placed in such companies are getting salary packages of about Rs 25,000 per month. With this type of placement, not all the students in the class get jobs.
Infrastructure: The college is small when you compare it to other colleges. The old auditorium was fully demolished and there is a new block being built in its place, so the college doesn't have an auditorium. In the future, they may construct an auditorium.
Faculty: The teaching is good. Their way of teaching is good, but their attitude is not good. Exams are a little tough, but it is easy when you write your exam with your own creativity. Our course is completely related to computer applications and web development, and also coding developments.
Other: BCA degree encourages me to work in IT fields and also helps me develop my career-related skills. BCA is one of the valuable courses that are now required in this world.

Dissatisfied because of faculty. No placements.
Placements: Not value for money as it is the worst college around I have seen. There are no scholarships, internships or placements available. None get placement because there is no placement in the college.
Infrastructure: Poor faclities such as library and labs. There are 55 systems only of which only 40 are in good condition, that also for some time. There is no canteen and medical facilities. Washrooms are not up to the mark. the college has sports facilities.
Faculty: The teachers were good and their teaching quality was good as well. 50 is the pass percentage out of 100. We have learnt nothing about our course. We don't know whether we will be having a job after completing our course or not.

B.Sc. in Visual Communication - Batch of 2023

This college is one of the best for Visual Communication students.
Placements: I pursued a Visual Communication course here. We had a placement cell.
Infrastructure: We had a photography studio, an audio studio, an editing lab, a CG lab for Visual Communication students, and computer labs for computer students. Our college was well and good and located in a prime location of the city, where you can access both the bus and the metro.
Faculty: The staff were so supportive and always pushed our limits to explore more. My professors have been my guide, and till now they have been guiding me. The semester exams for SCUM students were pretty easy, while the practical, we had to do lots of projects. The projects were related to the major specialization we had chosen, like direction, production, editing, etc.
Other: My college life was filled with smart learning, and we even attended the Goa Film Festival, the Chennai Film Festival, and other film festivals. Here, we not only learned, but we experienced.

B.Com. in Bank Management - Batch of 2024

There are no proper amenities and services available.
Placements: Only 10% of the students secure placements, with the highest package being ₹25,000 and the lowest at ₹8,000. Noteworthy companies like Trust and Sutherland are absent, leaving IIT internships as the sole option. Many graduates are struggling to find employment.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are decent, but the absence of a canteen and proper medical facilities, along with the lack of Wi-Fi, is noticeable. The saving grace is the auditorium, and the recreational facilities are satisfactory. The absence of hostel facilities and a small campus hinder proper maintenance.
Faculty: While the University of Madras handles the curriculum and exams, the faculty poses a significant issue. A majority lack expertise in their subjects, leading to inadequate teaching. Some faculty members deviate from the syllabus, and cultural programs are notably absent.

I am satisfied with the college, but the management is not good.
Placements: There are many companies offering jobs. The highest salary package is Rs. 45,000 per month and the lowest is Rs. 10,000 per month. We went to IIT Madras for internships. We are placed in various famous companies. They conduct some pre-interview processes before the campus interview. It makes students bold to attend the interview.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi. Classrooms are fine, but there is no proper library to gain knowledge. There is no hostel, proper canteen, or medical facilities. They give importance to sports like football, cricket, Kho-Kho, and other athletic games.
Faculty: The teaching is a bit low and the course curriculum is relevant. It doesn't make students industry-ready. Our college is affiliated with Madras University, so the question paper is a little bit tough and complicated for slow learners. The passing percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to gain knowledge in the commerce sector and am studying an add-on course in R programming. Events conducted by the college are not good. There is no importance for extracurricular activities.
