A rollercoaster ride of MBBS.
Placements: As such, we don't have placements in MBBS; we can work as medical officers, but mostly everyone chooses to do post-graduation after MBBS, after which we go into placements. Since our college is very reputable at the state and national levels, we get placed into good hospitals. I'm not sure about the packages. As a medical officer, one can earn Rs. 62,000 per month in the beginning.
Infrastructure: We have 2 libraries, one with books and the other one is a digital library. Both of them are very well-equipped with a vast amount of books and medical magazines. Classrooms are very good. The labs in our college are very advanced. The hostel is nearby and has all the required amenities.
Faculty: Teachers are very professional, and they have vast knowledge of the subject. Some of them are even authors of some famous textbooks. The curriculum is very difficult due to its vastness. One learns to manage it as time passes by. The exam times are the most pressurizing part of our course. It is highly stressful.

B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology - Batch of 2024

I am absolutely dissatisfied with the quality of education.
Placements: I joined the Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) in the year 2020. The fees were around Rs. 18,000. There were about 35 students in the batch. The training was posted in labs in Victoria Hospital every day from 9 AM to 1 PM, with complete exposure to lab diagnosis. We had 1 year internship in the final year.
Infrastructure: There was no allotment of hostel for Bachelor of Science (Medical Laboratory Technology) in BMC&RI. One had to find a hostel/PG on their own. Also, there were no facilities like sports, gym, cafeteria, ground, or auditorium provided for this course. Infrastructure is good.
Faculty: The teaching faculty was good, but they don't teach mostly. Only a few topics are taught religiously otherwise, the student has to prepare on their own. The students were industry-ready only due to their posting in the hospital. The exams were quite tough and had to be done on own.
Other: The 12-month rotation internship was very versatile and tedious. We had to work like professionals from 9 AM to 4 PM on all days [even GH and festivals] in the hospital, but no stipend was given, which drains you completely. The administrative staff was very arrogant and didn't respond to students' queries.

We have a good patient inflow and a very popular college and hospital.
Placements: There are 250 students in each batch. Each student receives a fixed stipend of Rs. 30000 per month for their internship. The internship takes place at Victoria Hospital in Bangalore, where all students are required to serve as house surgeons. Completing this internship is mandatory for every student, as it is an integral part of our course. The internship period lasts for one year.
Infrastructure: The college offers Wi-Fi in the digital library. Cassrooms are spacious enough to accommodate 250 students. There are reading rooms available in both the college and the hostel. The library is located on the college campus, along with a digital library. There are three hostels for boys and one hostel for girls. The food quality is good, with mess charges of Rs. 4,000 per month. There are various sports and games available for students to participate in.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. This course is based on medical. There are 3-semester exams in a year and it is difficult because the syllabus is vast, almost every student passes the exam but achieving a high score is tough. There is one university exam at the end of the year which is very difficult as we have to cover a lot of syllabus.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become a doctor. There is no such improvement required for this course. There are 2 major events conducted in BMCRI 1st Kannada Habba and 2nd Cobalt Skies, well connected as it is in a popular area of Bangalore. Our college provides a scholarship facility.

Top State College, Better Exposure Than Some AIIMS.
Placements: The college has a total of 250 seats for the MBBS course. It is the top college in Karnataka with students from various parts of India. The college offers well-equipped laboratories and a dissection hall with enough equipment for each and every student.
Infrastructure: There are 3 hostels for boys and 2 for girls with healthy food at a minimal cost. The hostels are very near to the college. The college has 8 floors with various labs and air-conditioned classrooms, well-equipped with projectors and speakers, a sports room, and various clubs like music, sports, social, etc.
Faculty: The faculty here is top, and their teaching and guidance are very helpful. They are very experienced and strict in terms of academics. The teachers here see each and every student's performance and guide them to the right path. The college assigns mentors to every student for any kind of problems they face.
Other: Overall, the college is a complete package with good academics as well as a stunning campus life. It has 5 hospitals attached to it, which help students to learn from patients and gain real-life experience during their studies.

BMCRI college life for MBBS students .
Placements: We have 250 students in our batch. This course is 5.5 years, of which 4.5 years is all about studying and writing countless exams. For the next 1 year, we will have to work as doctors in the hospital attached to our college. Here, we will get a stipend of 30,000 per month.
Infrastructure: We have very well-equipped labs for practicals with all the facilities. The physiology department has a hematology lab, human physiology lab, and clinical physiology lab. For anatomy, we have histology and dissection halls and also osteology. For biochemistry, we have a biochem lab. We also have sports like Cricket, Basketball courts, and Volleyball courts.
Faculty: The teachers here are very helpful and very cooperative. We have around more than 10 faculty members for each subject, including PGs, HODs, assistant professors, and professors. We will have to write 3 internal exams followed by the final exam in the 1st year. All the exams are very difficult and not easy to pass.
Other: We have a yearly fest called Cobalt Skies conducted by our seniors. It is my passion to do MBBS.

Faculty is good, and infrastructure is good, but there is no ground.
Placements: The students are placed based on the All India NEET exam, and the highest package offered is about 35 Lacs per annum, while the lowest is 4 Lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies include medical officers, and 99 percent of students will get an internship from the course. Nova Life Healthcare is one of the companies. The top role offered is becoming a multi-specialty doctor, and becoming a lecturer is the highest role.
Infrastructure: In our college, the hostel facility is very good and there are many facilities like Wi-Fi, which help a lot in the hostel. There are many labs which help in understanding the subject, and one big library is there for studies and books to refer to. In our hostel, they give good and healthy food and maintain a good mess and canteen. There is also a little bit of sports available.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified with an MBBS and PG degree, and they are very helpful. The teaching quality is of a high standard. The course curriculum is relevant, and the students are highly eager to learn. Semester exams are not very easy, and it is mandatory for students to pass with a 50 percent pass percentage.
Other: I chose this course because of my passion for it; it has always been a dream of mine. It is a very passionate and serving profession. The campus is not so good, but extracurricular activities are nice.
