Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2028
3.0
A peek into life in BMSCA.
Placements: While there is a placement cell, your knowledge of subjects matters. Based on your merit, you get your internships fixed at reputed firms. Internships in architecture cannot be determined as they are in engineering. You score, you fit, otherwise, you have to search for a firm by yourself.
Infrastructure: The exterior campus is very pretty. Built inside a beautiful green space, it includes a lot of informal gathering spaces. Classroom studios are huge, but the drafting tables need to be replaced. The washrooms are in bad condition. The handwashing facility is not neat. Lifts don't work at times. The hostel has good food and is fairly neat.
Faculty: Teachers are very friendly. They make time to help you out when you need guidance. They reply to your messages. The best teachers you can ask for. The college is affiliated with VTU, so the curriculum lags behind quite a lot. You are given multiple tasks. You don't get time to feel bored. Sheets, posters, submissions, presentations, assignments, and theory exams—sleepless schedules.

Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) - Batch of 2025
5.0
This is the best college for architecture.
Placements: The college has very good placement offers since it is one of the topmost colleges in Karnataka. It is the number 15th architecture college in the whole of India. The college has a very good atmosphere for students. The average package is around 6-7 LPA.
Infrastructure: The college has a very good campus and hostel facility. Even though the hostel fee is a bit high for middle-class families which is 2 LPA, it is good. The campus has almost all the facilities including sports, music, yoga, NCC, and all other activities.
Faculty: The faculty here is very nice and most of them are highly experienced and polite. They teach us with all their heart and take care of the students wholeheartedly. They are always there for the students. The course makes students industry-ready.

It's a really nice college and very prestigious as well.
Placements: I am yet to get placed. I am studying in the second year, so I have no much idea about placements yet. However, I have heard that BMS College has great placements. It is one of the best colleges, and hence there will be surely nice placements.
Infrastructure: There are amazing facilities like library, E-library and digital classrooms. There are sports ground and various canteens. Medical facilities are great because there is a hospital right outside BMS College. Everything is available for you at any time. It is absolutely recommended.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive and amazing. They help you with every difficulty. They give you more like provides experience to every student separately and makes you feel concentrate. The course curriculum is very much updated with the industry.

Our college has good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: For courses like B.Arch, placements aren't normal in our college because while doing our professional training in the 5th year, we usually continue working in the firm in which we are interned after our graduation. If students who are pursuing B.Arch requires placements, the department and the placement cell will help them.
Infrastructure: The hostel accommodation was pretty decent, and there were 3 sharing and 2 sharing rooms. Some blocks had attached washrooms, while others had common ones. The food served in the mess was below average. There are no lot of choices for food, and the food wasn't healthy or nutritious.
Faculty: There are faculty members with masters from CEPT, SPA, AA, UCLA, etc., for us. Visiting faculty members were highly qualified also. The course curriculum is helpful to an extent, but what you learn while doing your internships is really helps for a long time. Only 30% of what we study in college is being applied when we start working as an architect.
Other: Our course helps to do new possible things and is a catalyst to your creativity.

I am not fully satisfied, and college can get better in terms of infrastructure.
Placements: Students haven't been placed yet. While for the internship the pay starts at Rs. 2,000 and can go maximum up to Rs. 10,000. The salary packages are not yet offered. Most of the students get an internship. As in the last year, the internship was compulsory, and most of the students get placed, but it isn't as easy cause there is no placement as such that happens from college. Students are supposed to submit their portfolios, and accordingly, they might or might not get selected.
Infrastructure: In college 3d cutting lab and computer lab is in good condition. The hostel is not provided by the college. The food in college canteen is bad. The kitchens look really unhygienic. There is no proper place where students can get healthy food. The indoor stadium contains 4 badminton courts and one basketball court.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and highly qualified, and teaching is very good. There are some unwanted subjects that are a part of the curriculum or otherwise the course curriculum is relevant. The teaching quality is at its optimum. Teachers are open to discussions at the time of the day, which helps students in the design field.
Other: I have chosen this course because it's not monotonous, and there's something new to tackle every week. The infrastructure can be improved, and the subjects taught must concentrate on learning software's and not simply do everything by hand. Envisage is an architecture fest that just began last year in BMSCA bull temple road. Zonasa is another fest and platform organised every year for all architecture colleges around India.

No placement facility. Average infrastructure present. Faculty is good.
Placements: This college does not have a placement facility. The average salary is very less compared to other courses. Since the internship is compulsory, all the students were placed in different offices with a stipend of three to five thousand. No placement cell is present in the college.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi doesn't work most of the time. The classrooms are good. Computers in the lab are not sufficient for the number of students present. The library is not so efficient. The provision of e-library should be made available to students. The quality of food in the canteen is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good. The student to faculty ratio is around 30: 1. I did not have any industry exposure. The syllabus was too vast which could have been reduced a bit to help students. The mandatory internship is helpful.

Overall satisfied with the college and good industry exposure provided.
Placements: There are no placement opportunities for architecture students. Sadly students from the architecture branch have to apply for the internships on their own. There were placements cells for all the other UG and PG degree except architecture. There were 100% placements for B.Tech students. There is a placement cell for other students except architecture.
Infrastructure: There was Wi-Fi facility, but it was very slow. Classrooms were good. The library was well furnished, and we had a mobile app to track the information about the issue and availability of books. The quality of labs and classrooms were satisfactory. Hostel rooms were clean and spacious. We had Wi-Fi and washing machine facility in the hostel. I did not face issues related to the infrastructure during my tenure at the college.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching was not that great. As it is a masters degree course, it expected more efforts from the students' side than that of the teacher's side. The syllabus was really vast.
Other: The annual day is conducted once in a year. Annual day events are called Utsav, and this is known to be the best college event in Bengaluru. There is no free space anywhere. The entire campus is filled with buildings, and also the number of trees has been reduced.

BMS College of Architecture has good faculty members.
Placements: Architecture is a course where a year of internship is compacted in 5 years. We were provided exposure to the work environment before completing the course. Placements are available, but none of our seniors or lecturers prefers placements because we will not be able to design and instead will be made do some computer work of some other peoples designs. Even I don't recommend students to opt for placements.
Infrastructure: Our college is pretty old, and it was built in 1948. Architecture course started in the '80s, and it was regulated by BMSCE all these years. Now, the college has its own identity, and we got a defined campus for architecture with newly renovated blocks. Every studio has defined classrooms with benches like a normal class. Classrooms are equipped with boards, screens and projectors. The studio part has personal drafting table for each student. The important thing about this college that made me take admission in this college is that it's located in the heart of Bangalore, unlike other colleges. Students can reach the college with all means of transportation like bus and metro. The campus is lush green. For students to take admission in the architecture course, a college should have all the above facilities, but the most important one is material availability, i.e., we should have easy availability to all the stationaries which will help us to get quality sheets and models as it has more weightage in our course than exams.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are pretty good. For every subject, there are one or two highly experienced lectures who are qualified with masters in their subjects. Most of them are qualified from CEPT College of Architecture, Ahmedabad. It's a renowned institution in India. The course is none or the less same as we follow the syllabus designed by VTU. Our seniors were under autonomous BMS, so we have a slight change in syllabus, but comparatively, our syllabus is tough and lengthy.
Other: Last November, we had our own architecture fest named Envisage. Basavanagudi is the area where our college is located. Architecture course is something that has tours as a part of its curriculum. We have national and international study trips included in this five-year course. Many site visits are conducted to provide practical knowledge about the subjects.
