Cotton University offers various UG, PG and PhD courses, such as BSc, BA, BCA, MCA, MSC and MA. Admission to all the courses is entrance-based. The university accepts CUR-UG for admission to UG courses and conducts a university-based entrance exam i.e. CPGEE for admission to PG courses. Applicants seeking admission to any of these courses must appear in the entrance exam and score well to grab the final seat.

Cotton University offers admission to various UG courses including BA, BCA, BSc based on CUET UG scores followed by round-wise counselling. Yes, Cotton University Jaipur accepts entrance exams for admission to UG, PG, and doctoral courses. The entrance exam includes CUET and any other state-level entrance exam for admission to UG, PG and PhD courses, respectively. Additionaly, the university conducts university-level entrance exams i.e, Cotton University Post-Graduate Entrance Examination for admission to PG courses.

Candidates need to apply through the university website, and Assam State Admission Portal for PG and UG programmes respectively. As a Higher Education institution, Cotton College has gone through several milestones from the initial phase of being under Calcutta University to the present when it is one of the full-fledged autonomous state universities of Assam. It is a Public State University established in 1901 by Sir Henry Stedman Cotton, the Chief Commissioner of the erstwhile British province of Assam.

It was established in 2017 by the provisions of an Act enacted by Assam Legislative Assembly to merge the Cotton College State University and Cotton College.
