Placements: For a B.A. (Hons) in Economics at Cotton University, the placement opportunities are steadily increasing. About 50 to 60 percent of students in recent years get jobs after they graduate. The highest salary packages for economics graduates are usually between 6 LPA plus 7 LPA. The average packages are near 5 LPA. Entry-level jobs offer around 3 LPA. The main companies and organizations that recruit are big banks like ICICI Bank, and HDFC Bank, and also educational and research groups. Internships are a very important part of the studies, with students gaining real work experience in many types of fields.
Infrastructure: Cotton University is in the center of Guwahati city. People say it is one of the most famous institutions of Northeast India. The university was established in 1901 as Cotton College. After many years, it turned into a full university. The campus is very large with old-style buildings plus new buildings. The grounds are full of greenery. There are huge halls like KBR Auditorium and Sudmersen Hall. The new academic blocks, digital library, and labs are all very good. They help students to learn with current technology.
Faculty: The B.A. Honors in Economics at Cotton University has a very high academic standard with many good professors. Departmental professors are helpful. They have lots of knowledge and are friendly. Plus, many teachers have advanced degrees such as Ph. D.s, in addition to having control of their subjects. These teachers are committed to giving students a good quality education. They focus on both theory and practical use, along with showing how things work in real life, which helps students understand complex economic ideas or concepts better.

Satisfactory with qualified teachers .
Placements: I personally don't find the placement cell of the university of much use. Though it is a good state university but not many students get placed across different courses. The average package offered to undergraduate student was INR 5.4 LPA in 2022. The placement performance of the university fails to compliment the reputation of the university.
Infrastructure: The overall infrastructure for my department is quite good but it could be much better. Our department library has mostly all the required books and materials and teachers are also helpful. However, the classroom and hostel facility needs improvement.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and knowledgeable in my course and their teaching quality is also commendable. The course curriculum is quite relevant and exams are also conducted timely. However the result declaration takes a lot of time which needs to be improved.
Other: I chose this course because I was always interested and passionate about studying Economics and it aligns with my career goals as well. I believe it will grant me with skills and knowledge required for my future opportunities. There are many events organised occasionally in our department which helps us grow personally and professionally.

Satisfied with the professors, library environment, and the curriculum.
Placements: The placement process is being developed day by day. Even two of my good friends got placed in ICICI bank this time. Apparently, many others got placed in different places, such as HDFC Bank, International schools, etc. Studying in Cotton University will give you a better chance for placement.
Infrastructure: The economics department is one of the best departments in the university. Facilities are good and professors are very friendly. Software knowledge such as Stata and R is also provided in the department. If one has a keen interest in research, then also CU is one of the best options in Assam.
Faculty: Professors are helpful and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is good, focusing on both theories and mathematics. If one studies well, he/she can easily score a good CGPA. Everything is fine. If you are interested in the research field, then it's also good to be at Cotton University.

Really good infrastructure and the best campus life for university students.
Placements: Placements are given for professional courses such as media and technology. For general courses, placements are very rare, to say the least. Very renowned companies across the city come to the University to provide placements. Many students from our course have received placements.
Infrastructure: The departments of all the subjects are neat and clean. The library is very peaceful and one of the best places to study in the college. The canteen food is average. Sports and games can be played in the indoor stadium of the university. Classrooms are fine.
Faculty: The faculty is very helpful and provides notes for exams. The pass percentage of the university is 100% most of the time. The teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Exams conducted are not based solely on bookish knowledge but also include general knowledge.

The Best Govt University in Assam is Cotton! Best place to explore the political Or cultural fields.
Placements: Unfortunately, the placement cell was inactive until 2023. I was in the Economics department. Psychology and a few other departments started getting internships (both paid and unpaid) from the 5th semester onwards. Most of the students from my batch got placed in HDFC Bank in the last semester.
Infrastructure: The department has been trying its best to expand its materials in the depth library. There are not enough classrooms for the students pursuing Masters. Plus, the rooms are too small with a capacity of around 30 students. Hostels have a good environment.
Faculty: I was an enthusiastic student taking part in varsity selection protests everything but the previous HOD was against it. Luckily, the new HOD supports students to go beyond studies! The 3rd sem was the most difficult Of all!
So will be the 1st sem if you're from a CBSE background.
Other: Campus life was good. You'll find mostly selection candidates And hostellers “appealing” Canteens are good too. The placement cell had been inactive until now. Varsity week is the biggest festival along with daily music fests!

Our college provides good placements.
Placements: Our college provides internships for students in good companies.
Infrastructure: All departments have libraries, and students can refer to any book easily. The library is open from 9 am to 10 pm. Free Wi-Fi is available in our college. Our college has many classrooms. Hostels are average but have a good environment. The food served in the hostel is good. Our college provides a canteen, medical facilities, and sports equipment. Students can play many games in the playground. Our college has a warden.
Faculty: Our teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. They graduated from IITs. Most of them are Ph.D. holders. They conduct classes regularly. Our course curriculum is up-to-date and relevant. Semester exams test our knowledge of understanding which is very helpful. The pass percentage is high.
Other: Many students take admission to our college. Our college organises industrial visits for students.

Good campus life, gives exposure and placements are pretty good.
Placements: I have studied in this college for just a year, so I am not very aware about placements. But I have seen in my department achievements board that many students get placed in government and private banks and companies. So the placement cell does a pretty good job.
Infrastructure: The classrooms are big and spacious, and the library is also huge with a large collection of books. Wi-Fi is also available in the campus. Sports is given a priority in our college and the cultural life is also awesome. The food is also decent in the canteen and affordable too.
Faculty: The teachers are highly qualified from universities like DU, and also very cooperative. The semester exams are not that tough. The course is not that easy not that tough, just the perfect balance, and study materials are provided by the teachers of almost every department.

It was the best university in Assam.
Placements: Only up to 60% received admission to this university. The highest salary package was Rs.30,000, and the lowest was Rs.6,000. I recommended the lowest salary package to be similar to the highest package. Top companies that chose my course included Tata Group, Reliance Industries, Microsoft, and other similar companies. I think that up to 65% of all industries recommended your company for top roles. Tata Group offered very low job offers compared to Google and Microsoft.
Infrastructure: Facilities included instructor availability for our course, department Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, canteen, hostel facilities, and other important study facilities. Our hostel facilities were of good quality, with food provided, a canteen, and medical services always available. We had the best sports and games, high-speed Wi-Fi with unlimited data, Library 1 and 2, shared rooms in the hostel, and four times healthy food, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
Faculty:
Assam had the best teachers who helped students become qualified and gain knowledge. The 3-year course curriculum made students industry-ready. Students were prepared for the industry. There were no difficulties in the semester exams at this college. Only 30% failed.
Other: I liked this course, Economics. I thought just studying Economics was fairly easy. This college had a good campus, crowd, connectivity, scampers, surroundings, scholarships, extracurricular activities, etc. This was the best college in Assam with the best hostel facilities. Located in the best city, Guwahati, this college was the oldest in Assam. I liked this college. It was ranked 17th among India’s top 50 colleges.
