B.A. in Film, Television and New Media Production - Batch of 2027
5.0
Best college for future Filmmakers.
Placements: Our batch includes 80 students, and our course is film television and new media production, which means filmmaking. Our college also has many placements, such as Red Chillies, Dharma Productions, BBC, and many more. We are going to get interviews soon in the production house.
Infrastructure: The faculty members are so friendly and so overwhelming; they are so knowledgeable and they don't miss any chance to entertain us They have also worked in many films and in film festivals and the infrastructure is out of the box; it's a studio, IT lab, a color grading lab, sound lab, etc.
Faculty: The course is so curriculum relevant because it teaches us how to be the best filmmaker, and there is a lot of competition in today's time, so the course doesn't hesitate to teach us any new lessons or to update us till the date; it's full of knowledge, and it's so amazing.
Other: The best thing about my course is to be in a film industry that I'm in the film industry. In today's time, it's impossible to fit in this industry because there is so much competition.

I am very satisfied with the teaching approach.
Placements: Many students from our batch enrolled in the training and placement program from the college and got internships in some good companies.
Infrastructure: My course is one of the rarest in Mumbai and DGMC offering it is truly a boon to me. The infrastructure here is top notch, from library to sound studio, colour grading lab and also green room, this college doesn't quite lack anything and gives the best to the students.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and make you prepare for the corporate world. The curriculum is extremely good and resonates very much with the type of career you want to pursue in the future. The college challenges students to perform their best on exams and internal assignments. It makes students well prepared for their subjects.
Other: The college witnesses a diverse crowd visiting here every academic year. We organise various fests and also film festivals that reach international levels. Apart from that, we have cultural clubs and clubs associated with films, community services, advertising, photography, and journalism.

Review of Deviprasad Goenka Management College of Media Studies.
Placements: Management and faculty members are very poor except 2-3. There is no placement facility, so you have to find jobs on your own. Nothing is good about the college except for its infrastructure. Very few percentages of students got internships. None of the companies is recruiting students from the college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite good. Everything is available for students, like computer labs, sound recording labs, library, etc. The college is fully air-conditioned, and the facilities are good. The hostel is good with all facilities. The food is satisfactory in the hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified, but everyone is not knowledgeable and had a good vision. The teaching quality is average. The course is quite good if it is done well, but it doesn't make students industry-ready as practicals available are very few.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is the only course available for filmmaking at Mumbai University. The best thing about the course is the in-depth talking about films. More practical activities should have been added to make the course better.

The principal here is like a dictator.
Placements: Students here don't get any placements, and even the last years batch didn't get any placements from college. You can go out and get a lot of jobs easily as there are a good amount of open spots in the entertainment industry. Companies like Netflix and Amazon Prime are hiring a lot of people recently to make web series and TV shows for them.
Infrastructure: The college has an IT lab with a lot of bad computers. There is a studio which we never get to use, but it is mainly used to attract new admissions. The college has a turf which we get to use only 2 hours in a whole week, and there is a bad gym. Canteen is the worse, but the classrooms are good. There are no film cameras, but still, it's a film school. They also have a sound lab which is never used once.
Faculty: Our college has only 2-3 good teachers for the last 2 years, but they haven't taught anything about film making. Faculty members don't support students who are trying their best to pay their fees while working so that they can get a degree and help their families at the same time. The principal does not support students in the future.

It is the ultimate talent and media hub.
Placements: The college provides placements with average salary packages. Many people are either already employed or they start working in the second year through their contacts. You get to learn and work in many places, and even many faculty members help you in reaching production houses, green room, and sound room.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is the only thing I like about the college as it is pretty modern and aesthetic. Different facilities like library, IT room, sound room, and croma shoots, etc., are available which helps you a lot. The only problem is that they don't have all the required software in all the computers in the IT room. Otherwise, everything is just fantastic. The only problem is that water supply is available on a specific floor.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and qualified, and especially our photography sir was very skilled by giving us real-life tips and tricks which helped us a lot. Our communication technology and history of art teachers taught us lessons which are helpful in our real-life socialising.

There is a great faculty, really good infrastructure, and amazing campus.
Placements: There aren't any placements for undergraduates as such. The placements are mainly for PG students. For UG students, there is a placement cell which helps students in getting internships. Also, the faculty and course co-coordinators guide the students in procuring internships and jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of DGMC includes air-conditioned classes, fully equipped IT lab with Apple Macs, a medical room with nurses available 24x7, and a canteen. The food in the canteen is delicious, especially the Chinese dishes. It's very famous among the students. There is a football Turf where students can play football. Also, there's a basketball court. The library has books related to filmmaking and direction and includes other course books too. The students are allowed to use lifts, as opposed to other colleges. There's college Wi-Fi available so that the learning is not impaired. There is a hostel too for students coming from other parts. The hostel has all the facilities. There is a new boys hostel coming up too.
Faculty: The student to faculty ratio is 50:1. The teachers are highly qualified in their respective fields. The college also engages in visiting faculty who are working or have worked in the media field. These visiting faculty members disperse their knowledge to the young students. We get a lot of industry exposure from various workshops and movie promotions too. The assignments are mostly practical and involve making presentations and short films. So, the studies are a lot of fun.
Other: We have an annual media fest called Mumbai Media Champs wherein media colleges from all over Mumbai participate in various events. The campus crowd includes enthusiastic students who want to work in the field of media and are passionate about filmmaking. There are also weekly extracurricular activities like poetry competition, doodle making, clay art, suduko challenge, etc. Along with all this, there are various food joints outside college providing enough places for the students to hang out after college.
