Overall review of campus life, fees, placements, and ROI.
Placements: This college doesn't provide you with any campus placements; you have to do everything on your own after completing your course from this college. They will just provide you with the degree/certificate, that's all. Academics are easy, you can score well, but no further career assistance is provided.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this college is okay. There is no field as such, only a few buildings, and it's small for the capacity of students this college holds. Classrooms are fine, some are well-equipped, but some are pathetic. The library is fine. Wi-Fi facility is not available in all parts of the college and doesn't even work properly all the time. The canteen is the worst, it's just a place you can go and chill because there's no food most of the time. You get water or a few items like chowmein, paratha-sabji, that's it.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. Faculty are, also good, they make you understand topics and all. Irregular classes and schedule is poor. However, exams are conducted nicely, and faculty provides you with utmost marks. Pass percentage is huge, and exams are not that difficult to handle.
Other: Fees is quite less, around 7000 per year for B.Com. Campus life is good for people who are already very active and extrovert in nature. College is crowded in the Aug-Sept months mostly. Not much extracurricular activities. Scholarships are only the government scholarships that residents of Assam get, but nothing from the college. However, it might provide free admission based on certain criteria.

Review of Gauhati Commerce College.
Placements: Few students in our batch got placed as only a few companies visited our college for placement. The top recruiting companies were Pepsi, Coca-Cola, etc. The highest package was 5 LPA and the lowest package was 2 LPA. Many students got internships in my course in companies such as OIL and IOCL.
Infrastructure: College hostel is very good, offering the students various facilities including 24×7 Wi-Fi, classrooms, and a library. The quality of food in the hostel is very good and very hygienic to eat. The medical facilities are also up to the mark, as well as the sports and games in the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified in their field of subject, carrying expert knowledge and professional experience. Their teaching quality was very updated. Yes, this course curriculum is very relevant as it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams were moderate, and the pass percentage was near up to 95%.
Other: I chose this course because it offers the best education in our region. The syllabus needs to be updated for a few subjects as it is no longer relevant to us. There were many cultural events in our college, the campus surroundings were very pleasant, and many students also got scholarships.

Unbiased Review of GCC: The Good and The Bad.
Placements: Placement opportunities are really poor as there is a lack of exposure. Hence, it is advisable to say that no placement opportunities are available. You have to search and opt for internships and job interviews on your own. No such help regarding it is provided by the college.
Infrastructure: There are no hostel facilities for females. But there are hostel facilities provided for boys. According to what I have heard, they are pretty cheap and affordable. Regarding the infrastructure and course, it's pretty much average. More than 1 teacher is allotted to each subject for better understanding of the subject.
Faculty: More than 1 teacher is allotted to each subject for better understanding of the subject. The teachers are really qualified and efficient, but the syllabus is always incomplete due to lack of time. There is no practical experience, only knowledge and theoretical experience. There are 2 exams conducted in each semester: midterms and final end-semester exams. The pass percentage is 98%, and very few students fail or get back in a subject.
Other: I have always been interested in accounts and commerce, so choosing this course was the best option for me. Teaching methods can be improved to encourage better teacher-student interaction. During the rainy season, the campus is filled with floodwater, which creates a lot of inconvenience for students as well as teachers. Various events and competitions are conducted to encourage student well-being. These include quizzes, sports, dance, singing, debate, and such competitions. Several festivals are also celebrated, such as Saraswati Puja, Independence Day, etc. Apart from these, Freshers, College week, and Farewell are also conducted.

It is an affordable, reputed, and career-focused commerce education hub.
Placements: Placement opportunities at GCC are moderate. Some students report that companies like Amazon and Flipkart have recruited from the college. The average package ranges from 1.8-3.6 LPA. However, others mention limited placement activities, indicating variability across different courses and batches.
Infrastructure: The college boasts well-maintained infrastructure, including air-conditioned classrooms, smart boards, a well-stocked library, and a spacious auditorium. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and features facilities like a cafeteria and a medical center.
Faculty: GCC offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in commerce, business administration, and related fields. The course curriculum aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP), aiming to prepare students for real-world applications and competitive exams. Faculty members are generally supportive and approachable. Some students suggest that younger teachers could enhance their conceptual teaching methods.

Good college for B.Com. But overall infrastructure is not excellent.
Placements: Around 600 students passed B.Com along with me from Gauhati Commerce College. Now some are preparing for government exams, some for higher studies, and all. After B.Com, we have not received any placements for jobs. But the B.Com course helps us to know more about management, accounting, and financial services. With this knowledge, we can further prepare for various career options such as CMA, CA, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that good. But it is okay for the B.Com course. We have proper boards, classrooms, electronic appliances, hygienic toilets, a canteen, and proper fields. The food in the hostel is excellent. Also, we have lots of sports to play in the hostel, like cricket, football, etc. So overall it is good.
Faculty: Teachers were too friendly and excellent. They always help their students. The exams conducted by the teachers during classes are exam-relevant and help the students to get good marks in the final exams. Students are asked to do their assignments and homework on time.
Other: Since I was from a commerce background, and I was interested in learning management and accounting subjects, therefore, I chose this course. Gauhati Commerce College is one of the top colleges in Assam for B.Com. I chose this college. Events and fests are also conducted every year that help students to participate in co-curriculum activities and develop their skills.

As a government college, it is not dissatisfying.
Placements: You won't get placements directly obviously you are just doing bachelors. You have to apply for jobs yourself. There might be some internship programs offered in the WhatsApp groups. But those are not from the college just some random which are sent by students themselves.
Infrastructure: Classes are big enough. Some have AC and some don't. We do have computer labs so when required they do take you there. For tally, you have to bring your own laptop. Wi-Fi is slow, it barely works and not everyone knows the password. For library, you have to pay extra and make a card.
Faculty: Faculty members are not bad. You can ask questions to them if you have doubts. Can't say about all of them though. But the professors we got are nice only except 1-2 which I won't say the name, because I still have time to graduate. But overall it depends upon you how you prepare yourself. Sessionals are easy but end-semester exams might get tough so it depends all upon you.
Other: Plenty of events will be there. GCC is quite famous we all know it. Overall it depends all upon you. You can't depend on or rely on anyone else. As a government college, it's neither bad nor good. It is mediocre I would say. I don't have any personal grudges or problems its just my personal opinion. Everyone will have a different opinion of course.
