Absolutely satisfied in 2026.
Placements: Gauhati Commerce College provides great placements at different companies and corporates. It makes it easier for students to get a job after completing their master’s in any of the courses provided by the college. It feels like a great opportunity for students like us.
Infrastructure: I have not taken a seat in the college hostel. But what I have heard from students residing there is that the hostel campus is good. The food provided is almost the same every day, except for vegetables. But the same recipes are used in all food items.
Faculty: Faculty is great, very supportive, helpful, and highly qualified. The college participates in all cultural activities and festivals while also taking care of students’ studies. The exams are conducted very smoothly and easily.

Really decent infrastructure and facilities I won't say excellent.
Placements: Our college placed students with 70-100 percentile scores. The package isn't offered yet. I have no idea about any recruiting company. We got an internship from our own college but I chose something different. Many roles are offered but I'm not aware of those.
Infrastructure: Good facilities with decent Wi-Fi experience but sometimes the Wi-Fi hangs. The classrooms are average but in some rooms there is no AC which makes it difficult for us to attend classes in summer. Overall it's good. The library is good and has an aesthetic vibe.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and the course is relevant too. The course makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are not that tough it's easy and reliable as compared to the final exams where question papers are circulated by the university.

I'm personally absolutely satisfied with the college.
Placements: 20-30 percent of students got placed from the course in our college. The highest package is for BBA students which fetches Rs. 22,000 and the lowest is the B.Com course which starts with Rs. 7,000. Our college also offers additional courses like M.Com, MBA, and BCA. Top companies like SBI, BOB, etc., recruit students from our college.
Infrastructure: Our college does have a hostel with required facilities and consists of a Wi-Fi accessible to all, a common library, and a mess that is quite clean and maintained in the hostel. There is also a sports ground where sports events are organized every year and there is a gym too.
Faculty: The teachers give their full efforts in clarifying students' doubts. All teachers and PhD holders. The semester exams are pretty simple and easy consisting of the syllabus. 33 percent is the passing criteria. The quality of teachers is absolutely mind-blowing.

Here, the environment is very friendly with supportive seniors and feels like family.
Placements: Our college average percentage placed in our course is more than 85%, and the average annual package for our course is between 6.5 and 9 LPA. Our college provides ample opportunities to grow, and companies like Tata, Reliance, Infosys, and more recruit.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is in a developing phase, our playground is developing, and we have a target to accomplish this project by the end of 2027. Classrooms are also in good condition with ACs, there is safety for girls, no ragging, and many more.
Faculty: Our teachers are highly qualified and have no doubt in their knowledge, with so much experience. I feel like they personally take notice of every student. They don't treat us like students, they treat us like family, and they are very reputable teachers.
Other: This college is one of the best and reputed college in the northeast for those who are pursuing commerce in their life. I wish something to improve is more practical-based examinations.

A pleasant experience as part of the college
Placements: I'll be totally honest with it, students do get jobs through the college, which vary depending on the year. A few get really good salaries, but most start with smaller ones like 2–4 LPA. Big companies like Amazon and Deloitte have come, but not everyone gets into those. Many students also go for internships at places like Oil India. The jobs are usually beginner-level, like that of an accountant or simple office work. If you work hard and stay involved, the college gives you good chances to grow and discover your true potential.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure in the college is fairly good as it is a government college, and they do provide air conditioning in some of the classrooms. The quality of food provided in the canteen is fairly good as well. Major drawbacks include the lack of playgrounds and medical facilities mostly, but overall it's a good college. The football ground is still under construction, which is expected to take some time.
Faculty: The faculty, which includes the professors, is highly qualified and provides good-quality education. They help you out with study material and teach in a professional way, providing education that helps you relate to things more practically. The difficulty level of exams is moderate and they are scoreable. Passing marks are easily achievable.

Overall review of campus life, fees, placements, and ROI.
Placements: This college doesn't provide you with any campus placements; you have to do everything on your own after completing your course from this college. They will just provide you with the degree/certificate, that's all. Academics are easy, you can score well, but no further career assistance is provided.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of this college is okay. There is no field as such, only a few buildings, and it's small for the capacity of students this college holds. Classrooms are fine, some are well-equipped, but some are pathetic. The library is fine. Wi-Fi facility is not available in all parts of the college and doesn't even work properly all the time. The canteen is the worst, it's just a place you can go and chill because there's no food most of the time. You get water or a few items like chowmein, paratha-sabji, that's it.
Faculty: The course curriculum is good. Faculty are, also good, they make you understand topics and all. Irregular classes and schedule is poor. However, exams are conducted nicely, and faculty provides you with utmost marks. Pass percentage is huge, and exams are not that difficult to handle.
Other: Fees is quite less, around 7000 per year for B.Com. Campus life is good for people who are already very active and extrovert in nature. College is crowded in the Aug-Sept months mostly. Not much extracurricular activities. Scholarships are only the government scholarships that residents of Assam get, but nothing from the college. However, it might provide free admission based on certain criteria.

Review of Gauhati Commerce College.
Placements: Few students in our batch got placed as only a few companies visited our college for placement. The top recruiting companies were Pepsi, Coca-Cola, etc. The highest package was 5 LPA and the lowest package was 2 LPA. Many students got internships in my course in companies such as OIL and IOCL.
Infrastructure: College hostel is very good, offering the students various facilities including 24×7 Wi-Fi, classrooms, and a library. The quality of food in the hostel is very good and very hygienic to eat. The medical facilities are also up to the mark, as well as the sports and games in the hostel.
Faculty: The teachers were highly qualified in their field of subject, carrying expert knowledge and professional experience. Their teaching quality was very updated. Yes, this course curriculum is very relevant as it makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams were moderate, and the pass percentage was near up to 95%.
Other: I chose this course because it offers the best education in our region. The syllabus needs to be updated for a few subjects as it is no longer relevant to us. There were many cultural events in our college, the campus surroundings were very pleasant, and many students also got scholarships.

Good college for B.Com. But overall infrastructure is not excellent.
Placements: Around 600 students passed B.Com along with me from Gauhati Commerce College. Now some are preparing for government exams, some for higher studies, and all. After B.Com, we have not received any placements for jobs. But the B.Com course helps us to know more about management, accounting, and financial services. With this knowledge, we can further prepare for various career options such as CMA, CA, etc.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not that good. But it is okay for the B.Com course. We have proper boards, classrooms, electronic appliances, hygienic toilets, a canteen, and proper fields. The food in the hostel is excellent. Also, we have lots of sports to play in the hostel, like cricket, football, etc. So overall it is good.
Faculty: Teachers were too friendly and excellent. They always help their students. The exams conducted by the teachers during classes are exam-relevant and help the students to get good marks in the final exams. Students are asked to do their assignments and homework on time.
Other: Since I was from a commerce background, and I was interested in learning management and accounting subjects, therefore, I chose this course. Gauhati Commerce College is one of the top colleges in Assam for B.Com. I chose this college. Events and fests are also conducted every year that help students to participate in co-curriculum activities and develop their skills.
