Placements: Almost everyone gets to do an internship, and after that, you will be a medical officer under the National Health Mission. The package is skill-based, but a minimum of 35,000 rupees a month is given during rural postings. After the internship, you will be heading the public health center in rural areas.
Infrastructure: Centralized AC and Wi-Fi are present throughout the campus. Labs are well-equipped with state-of-the-art equipment. The library has all the books required. Hostel facilities are the best in the entire Northeast, with mess food provided. Sports and a gymnasium are also present.
Faculty: Teachers are the best of the best from the Northeast, with immense knowledge and expertise in their fields. It is a totally clinically based course of study, so you are ready for the world outside. Semester exams are quite difficult and sometimes take a toll on you, but in the end, it's all worth it.

This college has a great learning experience due to the high patient. inflow.
Placements: There is an internship program at the end, in which mandatory service is provided in the hospital. It can also be considered a stage of learning about healthcare by being a part of its providers. The stipend paid is Rs. 35,000 per month, which is generally higher than that offered by many medical colleges, making it a plus point.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are equipped with digital boards, and classes are conducted through presentations displayed on the smartboards. Classrooms also have air-conditioners. There are two libraries. One is in the college building, and the other is in the lecture hall complex. The practical demonstration labs are located in their respective departments.
Faculty: Faculty members are very dedicated and help students to the best of their ability. The syllabus is structured by CBME. Topics and number of classes are decided and set by CBME, which must be completed by the designated dates. Exams are divided into three semesters, each lasting three months. The syllabus is divided into three parts for this purpose. The final exams are conducted after a one-month gap following the third semester or pre-finals, during which the entire syllabus must be prepared.

Placements: Out of 200 students admitted each year in the MBBS curriculum,. Whoever passes out after 4.5 years gets the chance to continue an internship in the respective hospital of our college for one year. They get paid by the national health mission, Assam, and further rural postings for 1 year.
Infrastructure: Labs are perfect for experiments; smart boards and AC are available in classes, but Wi-Fi is not available. A central library is situated on the 5th floor. The hospital of our college is the largest hospital in Assam, having an ICU more than 600 and containing 33 departments. A super-specialty block is available, and there is ongoing construction of a 1,000-bed maternity hospital.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and supportive. There are 3 internal exams (sessional exams) and one final exam (professional exams) evaluated by the university. The curriculum is vast and hard to cover all topics. Students face difficulties before exams are revised. But they get adapted to it.
Other: For my passion to continue myself as a physician. The best thing is that you get respect and can proudly be a part of the healthcare system. Events like college week, shankaradeva tithj, Saraswati Puja, etc. Celebrated.

It is a very good college in north east.
Placements: There are total 200 students in a batch. After passing the final exams everyone gets to do 1 year internship in this hospital itself. After completing internship we have to do 1 year rural service also as medical officer. Salary is 35000 per month during this time. E3.
Infrastructure: Large lecture halls are present. Practical labs are present for all subjects. Library is present. Hostel is good. Food is also good. Canteen is present in college. However sports are not given much importance except college week. Medical facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and are themselves famous doctors Teaching quality is okay. Teacher use slides in class. Exams are held almost every week which is hectic. Semester exams are tough and students have to study a lot. Pass percentage is 50 percent.

It is an excellent college in Assam.
Placements: In an academic year, 200 students are enrolled. All students who pass successfully get jobs as medical officers under the rural service scheme. They receive reservations for NEET PG, which is good. After PG, they get jobs in government hospitals and can also work in private nursing homes.
Infrastructure: Our college provides good infrastructure. The college is away from the hospital and hostel. All the buildings are far away. Theory classes are held in the auditorium, while practical sessions occur in the college. It is located on a hilltop. The college bus is not frequently available.
Faculty: Our teachers are good and well-qualified. However, due to the busy schedule, like in most colleges, very few students can focus during class as everyone is tired. Around 20% of students fail per batch.
Other: The course may be difficult, but in the end, you will be happy with how it teaches you to treat people.

For all Indian students, it's not that good, but for state students, it's damn good.
Placements: There are a total of 200 students in the batch, and there are a total of 4 groups in the dissection hall, continuing with 50 students. It has many courses beside MBBS, and it is one of the top colleges, but in one class, the number of students is quite high.
Infrastructure: It is one of the oldest colleges in the state, so its infrastructure is very poor. Also, the buildings are segregated; one building is on a hilltop while the other is downhill near the hospital, which is in the main city. Also, AC does not work, and there is no Wi-Fi for students.
Faculty: Our principal only wants us to study all the time. The principal wants students to always be at the top of the university.
Due to this, the extracurricular activities and fest are not well organized, which is why we miss campus life, but the teachers are helpful as well as experienced, and the semester is quite tough; you will have to score a 50 percent to pass.
Other: Fest and extra activities are not much here, but during internship, the hospital is quite crowded, which is beneficial.

It is an excellent medical college in Assam and the North East.
Placements: Our college provides internships for one year in the hospital, and then one year of rural posting. Many types of patients visit the hospital, which makes us able to witness a large amount of patient flow and learn a lot by observing our mentors and seniors.
Infrastructure: Our college lacks facilities like a playground, an open area, and an enclosed campus. Our hospital provides excellent infrastructure. Our classrooms are like galleries. It allows each student to be attentive in class. Mics are provided for teachers in classrooms.
Faculty: Our teachers are excellent. Classes are interactive. Teachers use digital boards and make the classes more fun. Professors make an extra effort to help us learn and understand the topic.
Other: The campus is not good.

Good college situated in the heart of Guwahati on top of a hill.
Placements: I was studying in this college from 2017 up to 2022. According to the NMC guidelines and state medical laws for students with the State seats, we had to sign an agreement to do 1 year of compulsory internship after the Final Professional MBBS exam. And then do either 1 year of Rural service or 5 years of medical service in the State. So once you enter, placement is guaranteed and depends more on the medical education guidelines than the merit. About 92% of students were allowed to write the final exams considering their fulfilling the minimum marks and attendance criteria. The rest will be allowed to write the exams in 6 months and then the 1-year compulsory internship starts after the 6 months accordingly for such students.
Infrastructure: We don't have a set campus, but our college, hospital and hostel areas are spread across the Narakasur Hill. There are several lecture halls with air conditioning facilities and AV facilities, the college on top of the hill also has its canteen area for students and teachers to take breaks in. The pre-clinical classes are conducted in the college on top of the hill. The para clinical and clinical classes are conducted in the lecture halls present near the GMCH auditorium close to the hospital. There are separate girls' and boys' hostels, with varying facilities. I can't comment on the other hostels but my hostel 3 was at the top of the hill near the college. It's from a good vantage point of view of the whole city centre of Guwahati. It's lush and usually pretty nice during the summertime because of the natural breeze from the hill. The mobile data network however is pretty bad on top of the hill. But this was recently sort of dealt with by giving the students an option to avail of Jio Fiber services which are much faster compared to the usual network. The mess is maintained by the students and usually, the junior batches handle the mess. It's usually good enough to sustain, but sometimes it can be an issue because of the repetitive meals. They provide 3 meals per day and overall healthy food. There are tons of food delivery services available for use in the hostel so it's easier for us to order something to break the continuity of our consumption. The hostel also has a tennis/badminton court and indoor games such as carrom board and a hall for co-curricular activities. There is an auditorium for our college present at the foot of the hill, it serves multiple purposes for a lot of college or government events. The medical facilities are abundant because of our proximity to the hospital and they give priority to students, so it's pretty easy to get treatments or consultations in the hospital itself.
Faculty: The teachers I've encountered throughout the almost 5 years at this college have been pretty knowledgeable people who know their subject well. They are all qualified doctors in their rights and pretty accomplished in other activities such as books and research. The teaching is done using audio-visual aids depending on the teacher. But sometimes we enjoyed the more hands-on learning approach of some of the teachers who didn't require reading material to teach their topic and just wanted us to learn their subjects. The practical classes are always fun to interact with our classmates and our patients. The teachers give us enough time to build a repo with the patients on our own and then teach us the essential skills to diagnose a case. The curriculum is set by NMC and the teachers have to comply with it. The semester exams usually depend on the subjects and the Department taking the exam. They're usually good from a knowledge-based exam standpoint like asking relevant questions and current questions and elaborating usually seen diseases or pathologies. Sometimes students might have to do a lot of self-studying due to missed classes or an occasional lack of good learning sessions during lectures. The senior batches usually help out their juniors with exam preparation with study materials and previous years' question papers so it's good to build a healthy relationship with the seniors. The pass percentage of the exams is 50% until told otherwise. This is also according to the NMC guidelines and may change in the future. There are semester exams but the final exams for each year carry more weight. There are 9 semesters, and 4 years. This includes the 1st, 2nd, 3rd (part-1) and 3rd (part-2) professional MBBS exam. This is also according to the NMC guidelines and will be changing soon.
Other: I chose MBBS because I've always wanted to be a doctor since I was little and this is the first rather long step towards reaching that goal. One thing I would like to improve is the amount of time we get to study each subject each year. It used to be 5.5 years before but now it's reduced to 4.5 years and that cuts a lot of time that we need to prepare for certain subjects. This is not the University or college's fault really and more the top authorities making decisions about the medical education curriculum. The seniors and teachers understand this issue and are always ready to help us understand the subjects better. There are 19 subjects in the course but not enough time to complete every subject. The campus crowd is mostly friendly and usually acts like a family to one another. Almost everyone knows everyone else. There is a clear hierarchy in the roles and seniority of the course. And the juniors are usually expected to respect the seniors and their batchmates alike. The "campus" is pretty lush mostly due to the fact of it is on a hill. There are government holidays but no real long term vacations. The college does conduct co-curricular activities and events such as college cultural week and sports week alternating every year where one whole week is reserved for cultural and sports activities. Students participate in these events enthusiastically sometimes representing their batch, hostels, and individuals. There is a yearly fest conducted for intercollege activities called the synthesis and it's one of the events most looked forward to by every student.
