Candidates seeking admission must have a class 12 or equivalent pass certificate with a 60% aggregate. Further, based on the BSc paramedical specialisation that a candidate chooses to pursue, he/she must have the compulsory subjects in the qualifying exam. For example, for a BSc in Anesthesia Technology, Renal Dialysis Technology, EMT, and MLT, the candidate should have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English subjects.

Yes GIMSR offers a BSc in Paramedical course spread across six specialisations. The course duration varies from three to four years, depending on the choice of specialisation. The specialisations offered are namely BSc Anesthesia Technology BOptometry, BSc Radiology & Imaging Technology, BSc in Renal Dialysis Technology, BSc Emergency Medical Technology (EMT), BSc Medical Lab Technology (MLT)

The total tuition fee for a BSc at GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research is INR 4.4 Lacs – INR 6 lakh. In addition, this fee is taken from unofficial sources and hence is subject to change. For the GAT application, the students have to pay a sum of INR 1,200, which is non-refundable. The registration fee can be paid online through credit card/debit card/net banking.

To get admission to the GIMSR Master of Surgery course, students must begin with an eligibility check. Only the eligible students can apply for the MS programme. The application forms are available at the online admission portal of the institute.

After applying, students must register and appear for the NEET PG counselling. Only those who have qualified NEET PG exam can take part in the counselling process. The selection of students is done based on their merit obtained in the NEET PG exam. GIMSR offers a full-time MD programme with various specialisations for students to choose from. Upon graduating from these courses, students can apply for job profiles, such as General practitioner, Health Administrator, Dermatologist, etc. Moreover, prospective career choices and expected salaries depend on chosen specialisations. Most of the MD graduates often choose to work in hospitals, clinics, etc.

Some graduates also prefer to establish a clinic of their own. Those who are interested in staying connected to academia can take up academic or research roles. Researchers in the medical field can expect to get a salary ranging from INR 8 LPA to INR 10 LPA. 

MD seats offered by GIMSR are allocated based on marks obtained in the NEET-PG examination. The seats are alloted during the counseling rounds for the NEET-PG examination. Students who are allocated a seat are required to report to the institute for verification of documents. Students must pay admission to secure their seats.

To get a Master of Surgery seat at GIMSR, students must follow the below-mentioned steps:

1. Check if you fulfill the eligibility requirements. In order to be eligible, students must have completed an MBBS degree from a recognised university and completed a one-year internship. Moreover, students must have a valid NEET PG score.

Yes, students enrolled in the MS and MD courses offered by the GIMSR are required to submit a thesis. The topic of the thesis must revolve around their chosen specialisation. Moreover, this project work is to be successfully submitted at least six months before the theory and clinical/practical examination. A candidate shall only be allowed to appear for the theory and practical/clinical examination only after the acceptance of the thesis by the examiners.
