Merit Scholarships:
Merit scholarships are awarded based on entrance exam performance.
scholarship slabs: 100%, 75%, 60%, 40%, 25%, 15% of tuition fees.
Accepted entrance exams include: GAT, GBAT, JEE Main, EAPCET, CUET, SAT, CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT.
Applicants offered 60% or higher must attend a personal interview. Evaluation criteria include academic consistency, communication, program fit, and extracurriculars.
Post-interview adjustment:
Score ? 8.0 -> upgraded by one slab
Score 6.0–7.9 -> original slab retained
Score < 6.0 -> slab reduced by one level (not below 40%)
Renewal requirements:
CGPA ? 8.0 -> scholarship continues
CGPA 7.5–7.99 -> slab downgraded by one level
CGPA < 7.5 -> scholarship discontinued
Need-Based Scholarships:
Need-based scholarships offer additional tuition fee support to students already receiving a merit scholarship between 15% and 75%.
Eligibility thresholds:
Tier A (program fee ? 2 lakh/year): family income < 12 lakh/year
Tier B (program fee < 2 lakh/year): family income < 8 lakh/year
Documents required: Both parents’/guardians’ Form-16 or ITR
Submission deadline: 31 August 2025
Eligible slab upgrades:
75% -> 100%
60% -> 75%
40% -> 60%
25% -> 40%
15% -> 25%
Need-based benefits are reviewed annually. Continuation depends on income proof and CGPA eligibility.

GIMSR scholarships are granted based on marks scored in the GAT (GITAM Admission Test) or equivalent qualifying exam. Meritorious and eligible candidates can avail a scholarship up to 100% for first-year and will be continued for the subsequent years, subject to scoring 8.0 & above CGPA every year. Tabulated below is percentage of scholarship and respective GAT score needed to avail it:

The fee payment can be done through a demand draft drawn in the name of GITAM Institute of Medical Sciences and Research payable at Visakhapatnam. In addition, a fee can also be made by transfer (RTGS/NEFT) to the institute's account and proof of remittance must be produced at the time of reporting for admission. Placements: Almost 100% of students get placed. The highest package is 5 LPA. The hospital is very good and it provides the best medical services. The doctor plays a main role and they also teach the subject. We can also learn to work in the free time of our college in our departments. For some courses, there are internships. For some courses, there are no internships.
Infrastructure: Hostel facility is good because they charge a lot of money for that. Food is hygienic as well they also provide various facilities like gym, indoor games, basketball, cricket, and football. There are also vending machines which make it a bit easy to buy food as it saves time from going outside.
Placements: In our college, almost 60% of students are placed. The highest salary package offered is 5.6 LPA and the lowest salary package offered is 2.4 LPA. The GIMSR hospital is the most popular recruiting platform. A total of 100% of students get internships from our course at GIMSR Hospital. Top roles offered are anasthesian, anesthesia technician, duty doctor, drug advisor, etc.
Placements: In MBBS after passing out, most of the students were concerned with pursuing post-graduate degrees, and the college was being the first batch, students were not offered any campus placements. From this year, they were planning to take the post-graduate courses so it was a very good option to choose. If students can afford it, then they can surely opt for this college.
Placements: There are around 150 members for every batch. Any medical student wants to study PG after the MBBS degree. So until we pursue PG degree, we will not be offered good salary packages. About 85 to 90% of the students are doing internships. The salary packages offered vary for each field we choose.
Placements: College course is good. No bullying during internship or the entire course. Seniors were good and extremely helpful. Although patient loads was less but it was good compared to other private colleges. The rotation were hit or miss. Some departments were amazing, like Pediatrics, where I actually felt like I was making a difference, even with small things. The seniors there were supportive and explained stuff without making me feel dumb. On the flip side, Surgery was. Well, let? S just say it was...
