Information about Goa College of Engineering.
Placements: Till now, half of the students of IT department have been placed. The highest package offered this year is 12 LPA, and last year, it was 14 LPA. The lowest and the average package offered was 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Technoriz, Wipro, Vedanta, Quest Global, etc. Most of the students get internships. Some of the internships are provided by the college itself while the others try on their own.
Infrastructure: There are separate buildings for each department. Each department has their own auditorium and labs. There are different labs for different subjects, there’s a total of 8 labs for IT department . There is Wi-Fi available on each floor. There are 3 floors in the IT department. There are 5 hostel buildings for boys and 3 for girls. The hostel mess and the college canteen’s food quality is also good and the rates are feasible.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful while the others are arrogant. Most of the teachers are well skilled and teach well. The course makes the students industry ready but the students have to practice on his own. The semester exams are tough and the passing marks are 40 out of 100 per paper.
Other: I chose this course as I had an interest in coding and software. GCE holds the biggest college fest in Goa. Happening big events are organized by GCE . Scholarship schemes are also provided by the college.

It is a good college if you are ready to put in some extra effort and focus.
Placements: Placements are decent. You have to have something different. You have to prepare all your core topics and have projects mentioned in your resume. Since it's not an NIT-level college, you will have to make some extra effort in order to get placed on-campus.
Infrastructure: Labs have good facilities. If you are in the IT department, you could also carry your own laptop if you have some trouble with the department labs. The labs are air-conditioned and equipped with Wi-Fi. Classrooms are also huge but not that smart. The library is huge and could easily meet your needs. The infrastructure is good overall. When it comes to hostels, all sorts of hostels are available. Even though they are good, apply for it as soon as possible.
Faculty: Teachers are really insightful and have good knowledge. The first-year teachers are fine since the portion is also not so great, but after the first year, the level increases. It also depends on the interests of the student. The curriculum is good, as mentioned after the first year. The subjects start to get interesting. The exams are above average in difficulty. If you study, you can score well enough.

Our college has good infrastructure.
Placements: Our college is one of the best institutes for engineering. Many companies visit during the seventh semester for placements of students. Infosys, IBM, and Tech Mahindra have placed many students from our degree course. Many students from Goa and other states attend college.
Infrastructure: Our college has a huge campus consisting of hostels with mess facilities, a library, a gymkhana, an infinity ground, a canteen, etc. Our hostels also have Wi-Fi facilities. The mess serves good quality food. During my entire degree course, i.e., 4 years, I stayed in the hostel.
Faculty: Our college has good, qualified faculty members. They gave you good direction and guidance for the future. Semester exams are tough, but if you study regularly and strategically, it is very easy to pass. During the final year, students have to submit their project, which should solve any real-time problem.

One of the better engineering colleges of Goa University, with decent placements a huge campus.
Placements: Many companies do come for campus placements. Most of the students in computer science and information technology got placed. Around 35-40% of students get placed on campus with packages offered as high as 12 LPA to the lowest of 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies are Accenture and TCS. Local companies like Spark+ also come here. Almost every student does an internship in companies like Spark+, EdGate, GSL etc.
Infrastructure: Each department is provided with the latest technologies. Each department has its own independent building. Each department has 6-10 labs for all kinds of purposes. Wi-Fi is available in the hostel. The library is great with a huge collection of books. Each department even has its own conference room where seminars are held. The hostel is average. Cleanliness is not taken care of, in the boys' hostel. 4 students share 1 room. Mess service is decent. There is a huge ground for all sorts of outdoor games, and there is also a gymkhana with a badminton court.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, very helpful, kind and very knowledgeable. The updated syllabus is great, and students are taught the latest industry trends. HODs are really helpful. They encourage you to learn more from other sources and do internships to gain industrial knowledge. Teachers give good exposure to what it is like to work in the industry.

Review of Goa College of Engineering.
Placements: I am from IT batch 2017. Very few top recruitment companies had visited for college placements which includes like Infosys, Persistent, IVP. Most of the job offers were for a software developer post. Rest all the companies were based in Goa. The average salary offered ranges from Rs. 25,000-30,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Classroom facilities were quite good with Wi-Fi facility for computer labs. The library had all the required and updated books as per requirement. Hostel rooms were good and clean as they were new, but maintenance was very poor, and no lady to cleanroom even every week. The food quality in a mess is quite poor. The canteen is quite unhygienic although the food quality is improved after new canteen caterers, and no proper medical facilities are provided.
Faculty: Some best teachers are excellent in teaching the subject and are a true saviour, but then some are not so knowledgeable. Teaching quality is moderate, quite good. In the course curriculum, some topics are not relevant, and all and the curriculum is not updated up to industry standards. News languages should be taught to students.

Worth for money. Low fees, great infrastructure.
Placements: The overall placements are quite average. Now, with NIT and IIT in the same campus, it's getting tougher. The average CTC offered is Rs. 2.5 LPA and the maximum is around Rs. 7-8 LPA. The companies vary year to year with a few assured in the list of those who hire in bulk. One can expect to sit in the placements drive if with 6+ GPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good and up to the industry standards. The labs are well equipped. The hostels are Wi-Fi enabled. Most of the students are localites, so weekends are lonely if you are from outstation and opt to stay back. The overall campus is built on a huge area with a lot of open space and greenery.
Faculty: The faculty members are of all kinds, from the very annoying ones to the interesting ones. Especially in the first year of the course, you will have to gear up to learn stuff on your own and cope up with studies when so many extra curricular activities are going on. There are knowledgeable assistants in the labs. The curriculum is outdated (as in 2017), and needs to upgrade if it still wants to let the students graduate with the required industry knowledge.
Other: There would be many instances where one will get to explore and experience various new things during the 4-year course. No doubt there would be challenges, but with the right person, group, and attitude, all works well. Like any other college, all kinds of good as well as bad addictions would be knocking your door.
