B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2024

Good experience, good faculty for core branches and good placement records.
Placements: Around 95% of students were placed in good companies like Amazon, NSE, Oracle, Samsung, Intel, etc. with an average package of 15–16 LPA. The highest package offered was 44 LPA by Amazon. Meanwhile, the lowest package offered to 6 LPAs by L&T was the management post. Currently, the institute has tie-ups with NIO and Persistent Technologies, which offer internship programs to students.
Infrastructure: The hostel's condition is decent. Wi-Fi, due to being BSNL, fluctuates a lot but is decent whenever required. But if the network goes down, it takes a lot of time to bring it up. This makes it difficult for the students to sometimes complete their assignments.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, at least in the core branches. There is not much knowledge about non-core branches. The curriculum is well defined and is suited for competitive exams. Pass percentage every year is 90%+. So overall, all semesters are difficult; even just 3rd year maybe a bit challenging due to tight schedule of curriculum .
Other: I had gotten a respectable 98.75 percentile in JEE during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, I am a native of Goa. So, due to pandemic factors, I decided to take admission at NIT Goa. I was getting CSE in NIT Goa so I decided it was better to take the best possible branch if I was going to stay in Goa itself. I would like a dedicated high-end lab in our college, at least for the core branches, where they could explore high-end technologies. The environment is very good. The climate is very good. The campus is very close to a major city. The institute provides internships at the National Institute of Oceanography as summer interns to academically excellent students. The curriculum is a bit strict so it's sometimes difficult to do part-time freelancing.

Dissatisfied with the infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: It's not so much a college problem as the hiring freeze that's going on nowadays. The placement rate in computer science and engineering is good regardless. Most of the students get placed. Many students have completed their internships at big companies like Reliance and universities like IIT Madras.
Infrastructure: The temporary campus was not that good but now we are shifting to the new campus. By the looks of it, it is going to be much better. The meal is not that good but the food doesn't taste so bad. Things are going to improve as we shift to the new campus starting this semester.
Faculty: The teachers are quite knowledgeable and the teaching quality is good. However, the course curriculum tends to get a little old. The semester exams are not that difficult and the pass percentage is very high. Not many people get a failing grade. Courses are easy to pass.

It is the best place for a nature lover and currently small campus but the big one will come soon.
Placements: In CSE, ECE, and EEE branches, almost everyone was placed. Since it was the first time for the mechanical and civil branches in placements, their record was not good. The highest salary package was 44 LPA bagged by Rohit Kartik in Amazon. The lowest salary package offered is around 3 LPA - 4 LPA. The top recruiting company is Samsung which did mass hiring with more than 15 students getting salary packages of 16 LPA - 20 LPA. Only 2 students got internships at Samsung. Few others have applied for off-campus internships. The top roles are T&P head, T&P coordinator, etc.
Infrastructure: In our college, all facilities needed for the CSE branch are available. Wi-Fi is enabled in both the college and hostel. The classrooms have air-conditioners. Library is quite good. The hostel has 3 bedrooms, we have indoor games facilities like chess, TT, and carrom. There is a big ground near hostel called infinity ground. Mess food is average and the canteen food is good. Medical facilities are average. There are events organised on regular basis like Zumba, marathon, martial arts, Yoga, etc.
Faculty: The best part of college is the teaching part. The teachers are well qualified and the classroom interaction is great. Since there are just 30-35 members in a class, the teacher can follow individual interactions and track the progress of each student. They are very friendly. The course curriculum is followed very strictly. But, to be industry-ready, extra skills like DSA has to be done by the student on their own. Exams are easy for students who follow the class regularly but most of us do last night's preparation.
Other: Since there are fewer students, we all know each other. Senior junior interaction is great. I chose this course since everything revolves around technology today. This industry is only growing. The knowledge of this field can open up many opportunities in the future. There is an annual event called Savyaas and inter-branch event Natarang conducted on campus.

It provides almost 100% placements in the CSE course with the highest salary package of 20 LPA.
Placements: For the academic year 2020-21, about 22 students from the CSE department were eligible for placement out of 28, and others do higher education. All 22 eligible students got placed. The highest salary package offered in our course is 20 LPA. The average salary package offered in all branches is 7.61 LPA, which is very good in 2019 -20. From the previous 2 years, the CSE department had 100% placements. The lowest package salary package offered in all branches is 3.5 LPA. The average salary package offered in our course is 12 LPA, and the lowest salary package offered in our course is 5 LPA. Students got a salary package of 20 LPA this year from Goldman Sachs. Some companies like Samsung, Siemens, JSW, Reliance, Nokia, and Infosys visit our college for placements.
Infrastructure: Our own campus will be ready until June of 2022. Faculty members are trying to make the campus good. The government has allocated 300 acres of land for the new campus. We are currently on the temporary campus. There is Wi-Fi even on the temporary campus. The quality of food served is average. We have fields to play most of the sports. But there is no swimming pool or gym on the temporary campus.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are very helpful and supportive. If we can ask them a doubt many times, still we will not get angry. Most of the teachers used to support us in this pandemic by understanding network problems. They cover the full portion. Exams are a little hard as the end semester is of 100 marks and the mid exams is of 50 marks. Teachers motivate us to try new projects so that we can get ready for industries. Mostly, all students pass if they can study like 1 hour daily apart from listening class.
Other: I have chosen this course because I wanted to join the CSE course. The college is in Goa, so it is a lot of fun. A branch is of 40 students only, so teachers pay more attention. We have a robotic club, and you can get a scholarship also. If your income is above 1 lac and lower than 5 lacs, then you just have to pay Rs. 22,000 for 1 semester. If your family income is less than 1 lacs, then you are fee will be less than Rs. 5,000 per semester. Our college organises a lot of fests. I wish it was offline, and the new campus was built fastly. If you want to know more about the robotic club or anything, then go to the NIT Goa website.

Totally satisfied with the faculty of NIT, Goa and the placements of 2018 batch.
Placements: Around 95% of the students were placed, and the rest opted for higher studies. The highest package offered was 11.5 LPA, the average package offered was 7 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 4.5 LPA. Microsoft and Barclays were the top recruiting companies of computer science and engineering branch. We got internships on our own, but 1-2 companies came for internships. Smartprix and L&T came in the 3rd year for internships. Technical manager, software developer, software testing manager and R&D in Microsoft were the top roles offered for computer science branch.
Infrastructure: NIT, Goa has enough classrooms for its students. Every classroom has A/Cs according to the size of the classroom. Every branch in B.Tech and M.Tech has labs. The library has all the books a student can require. The number of books never fall short. Wi-Fi is available on the whole campus. Food quality is not up to the mark. Non-veg food is provided for 2 days in a week. 2 people have to stay in 1 small room, and 4-6 people in a hall. Medical facilities are quite good. A doctor and a nurse are available in the college hours. NIT, Goa, participates in all the sports in All India Inter-NIT Competitions.
Faculty: Professors were the best anyone could ask for. All are PhD holders from IITs and NITs and are highly qualified and knowledgeable. Maximum are associate professors. Their teaching quality is great. Some go beyond their limits to teach us. The course curriculum is relevant, and it makes the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose computer science because before taking admission, I looked at the curriculum, and it was interesting and future based. The best thing was cloud computing using Hadoop. I honestly want no improvement as the course is already providing its best for the students. NIT, Goa organises 2 annual fests known as Technical fest and Savyas fest. Campus crowd is not much high, and it is the best thing as every student and teacher knows each other, and it helps in better communication. SC and ST students get yearly scholarships of about 1.5 Lacs.

The well and decent college.
Placements: 75 to 80 percent of the total eligible students get placed every year.11 LPA is the highest package and 5 LPA is the average package. Intel, samsung, hp is the top recruiter in my college. Around 50 to 60 percent of the student get the internship in good companies.
Infrastructure: Our academic is well and good it is equipped with 24*7 Wi-Fi facilities. All classrooms are having A/CS, projectors. We have one library where almost every books are available. The hostel buildings are decent (not so good) with Wi-Fi connections during non college time. Mess food is not so tasty but you will get used to of it. We have one sports room where carrom, chess, table tennis etc. Are available.
Faculty: The teachers are highly skilled and qualified from good iits and nits and have a vast knowledge in their field. the teaching quality is good with full support. The teachers are fully supportive in any projects. The course curriculum is not as industry oriented.
Other: The computer Science department if this college is good, this course has wide range of application in every it companies. Something should be done to make the course industry oriented. Saavyas is the name of technical cum cultural fest of this college.

It is a decent college with good infrastructure and average facilities.
Placements: Around 90% of the students of the CSE branch got placed. Mostly the student is offered the role of a software developer or security engineer. The highest salary package offered is around 14 LPA, and it was offered by Samsung. The lowest salary package offered varied from 4-5 LPA. Samsung, Infosys, Siemens, etc., are the top recruiters of our college. Around 50% of the students got the internship from the college in nearby companies, and remaining do their internship on their own.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and labs in our college are well-equipped with air-conditioners and projector. Labs and classroom have high-speed internet facilities. We have a library with the availability of almost every good book. The hostel building is not that good, but have facilities like water purifier, Wi-Fi connection. The food served in the canteen is average not that tasty, but it is eatable. One medical room is there, which is open during college time only. Games like carrom, chess, table tennis, etc., are there in the sports room.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are highly skilled and qualified from good IITs, NITs, and have vast knowledge in their specific field. They give their full support in building projects related to their field. Teaching quality is decent with interactive PPT sessions. The course curriculum is not as expected; i.e., it is not that much industry oriented. One has to build the skills their own.
Other: The CSE department of this college is good as compared to other branches. This course has a wide range of applications in IT industries. The course would be better if it is industry oriented. Our college organises an annual tech plus cultural fest named Saavyas every year. There are some other events like inter-year cricket, football, etc.

Good faculty and great atmosphere for study.
Placements: From my branch app. 100% placement is there. The highest package goes upto 14 Lacs through on campus placement and higher front off campus placement avg salary is around 7 Lacs. Microsoft, amazon, samsung are the top recruiting companies from NIT Goa. The roles offered are as software devlopers in different companies.
Infrastructure: If you want 24X7 Wi-Fi NIT Goa is the best place to do so. The labs have up to date scientific instruments. Classrooms have smart boards and a great air conditioned rooms with speakers. The library is not too big but you can find all sorts of book there. The mess food is not so good but its healthy. As for the canteen it provides good food at low cost. The college gives free medical facilities. The new campus is under construction and will be constructed by.
Faculty: The faculty is best amongst all nits and iits. The teachers keep there knowledge up to date with recent discoveries. They give attention to each and every student in the class. They even provide coaching related to placements and make the students ready for industry.

Yes, for girl candidate at the rank of 53,000, you can get into the NITs. But, you have to be sure that the NIT in which you are getting in is better than other government colleges, because at this rank still, you have chances to get into other government colleges.

No chance in CSE in any NITS or IIITs. Your rank is too low in SC category. There is limited seats for SC in NIT and your rank is more above that. Even getting CSE with this rank is not at all possible.
