The college provides best infrastructure for students.
Placements: 20 percent students were placed. The highest salary offered was 12 Lacs per annum, an average of 2 Lacs per annum, the lowest 1 Lacs per annum. Siemens, Crompton are top recruiting companies. 70 percent students got an internship, some from Crompton, electricity department etc.
Infrastructure: Each course has a separate department. Wi-Fi is free throughout the campus. Classrooms are engaged in respected departments. The library has a separate infrastructure. There are 5 boys hostels and 2 for girls. A gymkhana is available for sports activity along with a ground for outdoor games.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and dedicated to the betterment of the students. The teachers are very qualified and have knowledge of their respected subjects. The students are trained well to face future interviews and to get jobs. Students are encouraged to approach to teachers anytime in case of queries.
Other: I was very much interested in engineering. I chose electrical and electronic because I was very much into all the electronics stuff. The college has several events throughout the semester. Intercollege event is also held in which all the colleges participate.

A college which offer great memories. A campus worth studying.
Placements: Placements in GEC are decent. Companies like Bosch and others have frequently visited the campus for placements. Talking out the criteria for placements, students need to have an academic score of more than 60% in all semesters without any backlogs. The salary packages offered are decent enough. Internship opportunities are offered in those same companies, which also helps students to get placed in final placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of GEC is old, but it is maintained very well. The campus is spread over more than 1000 acres. Each department has its own separate blocks for classrooms, workshop, and labs. There are separate buildings for the accounts section where the fee payment transactions can be done and an academic section where they operate academic works. We even have our own power substation.
Faculty: Engineering course is offered in streams such as electrical and electronics, electronics and telecommunications, mechanical, computer, IT, civil and also mining engineering. Most of the senior faculty members are well qualified while newly introduced contract faculty are no less. Each department has its own teaching and non-teaching faculty.
Other: Major events are conducted in GEC. Goa's most popular college event is Tandav; it is an interdepartmental event. We also conduct Spectrum, which is a technical event. Another famous event named TedxGEC is also organised here. Each department also organises its own inaugural event. We have a canteen, two restaurants and lots of places to hang out. We also have a great playground.

GEC is good for the overall development, and it teaches you a lot more than just engineering.
Placements: Sesa, Accenture, Cognizant, Nestle, Zoovari, Marine Elec, Buoyancy, Tech Mahindra, etc., companies visit the college. Placements were not much good compared to previous two years. But having said so, the placement office works hard to increase the placements. In recent years, a few more core companies related to mechanical have visited the campus to offer placements.
Infrastructure: The campus is sprawling over 150 acres. Currently, it houses IIT Goa which should give aspirants a clear idea of the area on hand. The classrooms are decent and so the laboratories. It has one of the biggest libraries in Goa in terms of books. The college also has 3 auditoriums and a gymkhana. The football ground is huge.
Faculty: The faculty are well qualified. The staff in the mechanical workshop are extremely helpful and so the faculty members in the laboratories. The curriculum is the same as prescribed by Goa University and has been revised recently. There is an unrelenting focus on attendance by some faculty members, whereas many faculty members are accommodative of attendance for deserving and genuine students.
Other: Goa's biggest inter-collegiate cultural event called Happenings is hosted by GEC, in which colleges from within and outside Goa participate. It has seen national award-winning singers such as Jonita Gandhi. The world famous DJ Lost Stories, DJ Vanish Sod have also performed in our college. The technical event called Spectrum has recently seen a Stand Up Giants Span Verma and Sorabh Pant performances for the first time. GEC has a fully functional and active TEDx branch as well.

It is an amazing experience. Faculty are cooperative. Placements are good in 2017.
Placements: Around 35% of the students from my batch got placed on the campus. The placement percentage of our batch was almost similar to our senior batch. Roles from software engineers to maintenance engineers were offered to the students. The highest package offered was 7.95 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 2.5 LPA. Vedanta, Wipro, Infosys, Cida De Goa, Oriental Containers, Jaquar Lighting, IBM, Indus Valley Partners were some of the companies that offered placements in our college. None of the students got an internship from the college. The college has a placement cell, but there is scope for further improvement.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is moderate. But, all the essentials are available. Especially, the laboratories are well-equipped. The library is great. A gym, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis and a huge football ground are available. Wi-Fi facility is available only in hostels. Quality of food in the canteen is decent. I didn't face any serious infrastructure related issues during my tenure.
Faculty: The teachers are very cooperative and very knowledgeable. Most of the senior faculty members have completed their PhD. They're easily approachable both online as well as offline. The industry exposure provided is not much good. Not many guest speakers are invited to the campus to interact with the students. The student to faculty ratio isn't that great. Maybe, two industrial visits are organised in a year. The course curriculum needs to be updated regularly. For our batch, most of the concepts in the curriculum were outdated, but it was updated for the subsequent batches.
Other: Happenings and Tandav events conducted in our college are famous at the state level. Spectrum is the national level technical event conducted in the college. Tuition fee waiver scheme is available. The college has a music club, quiz club and a photography club as well. The crowd is amazing, quite competitive and the students actively participate in the events.

Here, you will enjoy your college life, but be serious during the semester and study hard.
Placements: Placements in the college are pretty good for the students of electrical and electronics department. This year (2014-2018), around 4-5 companies visited the college to hire the students. Companies like Vedanta, Adage, and Visteon visited and offered the salary package of Rs. 30,000 per month. A minimum of 60% of students got placed in the college placements. Coca-Cola, Cipla, and Sanofi offered apprenticeship programme for students.
Infrastructure: The campus is on a hilly area and looks beautiful during the rainy season. Every department has their labs. Wi-Fi facility is not provided in classrooms of electrical and electronics department. Labs and classrooms are not in the same building. You'll find gymkhana in the college with four boys hostels and three girls hostel. You'll also find the canteen and various other shops like ice-cream parlour, stationery, print zone, corporation bank, etc., in the college.
Faculty: Personally, I find that the teachers of electrical and electronics department are very much helpful. They are somewhat worried about your attendance and will always poke you to attend their lecture. Some teachers use the projector whenever required, and they also arrange some field trips.
Other: The campus holds around 2,500 students from all seven branches. In an odd semester, an inter-branch event named Tandav is organised in the college. In even semester, the national level fest named Happenings followed by the technical event named Spectrum are organised in the college.

Most sought out college, yet poor placements.
Placements: When it comes to placements in my branch, only 5 to 6 students got placed in the campus placements. Mostly, IT sector companies visit the campus for placements, and some were of electronics background. Similar conditions were present during the last few years. However, our head of department and placement officers are trying their best to improve placement figures every year. The highest salary that was offered for my batch was around five lacs per annum, and the average was 2.5 LPA. Companies like Infosys, Vedanta, and Indus Valley were a few that visited the campus for placements, and most of which offered the roles of programmer or customer service representative. Most of the students were successful in obtaining internships in reputed companies like L&T, Siemens, and Crompton Greaves. However, most of them didn't get any stipend. The students from our college believe that experience is more important rather than any stipend. There is a placement cell in my college which is somewhat successful in providing jobs for CSE and IT engineering students from our college. According to my opinion, it should emphasise more on giving placements to the students of electrical and electronics branch as the placements for this branch in my college are very poor as compared to other branches.
Infrastructure: The college provides Wi-Fi services to the students in the library, department buildings, and laboratories. Classrooms are decent, having all the required facilities like projector point, adequate tube lights, fans, and benches, but I wouldn't call it posh. Our college has one of the best libraries than any of the college libraries in Goa having close to 50,000 books. Most of the books required for the engineering courses are available. Every year, new books are constantly being added. It also provides book bank facilities to needy students. It is a top-class library. Our college also has a cricket and football team. Every year, lots of inter-college and inter-branch sports activities are held. There is a vast playground in the college. There is also an indoor stadium and gymnasium. Our college doesn't have any medical facilities. Speaking of labs, I would say that there is lots of work to be done on it. The equipment is either outdated or not functioning properly. Most of the computers are infected by virus. The college canteen is unhygienic. The FDA should raid the entire canteen, and I am sure that the canteen would be shut down the very next day. As a result of which the students prefer to eat in another private cafe located in the college which is good. Hostels in my college are currently being renovated. Rooms are available on a sharing basis, and that is three in a room. Renovation is still under process.
Faculty: Our college has a bunch of highly qualified PhD holders as faculty members. Most of them are polite and would readily solve the students' problems. However, junior faculty members, mostly who are on contract are very rude and lack teaching skills, and it is probably due to the lack of experience. Faculty members explain the concepts, and sessional exams are conducted after two months. The final-end semester exams are conducted at the end of the semesters. Teaching is done with the help of projectors. We have a healthy student to faculty ratio. Industrial exposure was only provided during the internship. The course curriculum is not sufficient and is very old.
Other: The inter-college cultural event named Happenings is organised on the campus. It's a very large scale event which is famous all over the state and neighbourhood states. Students from many different colleges take part in it. Another technical event named Spectrum also takes place here. Popularity remains the same as that of Happenings. An inter-branch event named Renaissance formally is conducted, and Tandav is also an exciting event. The campus is very huge and surrounded by lush green forest. The state government provides scholarships to the needy students. The college fee is less compared to other colleges in the state. The fee is at the most Rs. 20,000 per semester, and if family income is less than three lacs per annum, then the fee will be Rs. 12,000. Getting admission in this college is strictly by merit in Goa Entrance Test (GCET), and donation is not at all accepted. So, this college is the most sought college in Goa and getting a seat is very difficult. The seats never remain vacant.

The teachers are qualified and also the non teaching faculty is very helpful.
Placements: The placements of some branches like etc., COMPUTER, INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, is good. In electrical the placements are very less. This college is having the best and most no of placements in Goa. 11 and 13 students were placed successfully in 2016 and 2017 respectively.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is not that good. Talking about labs and classrooms, they are well-equipped but so old fashioned and aged. Wi-Fi quality is nice in campus including hostel. Sports and games are also good to some extent. Every year students are selected for different sports for college teams.
Faculty: Faculty is both qualified and helpful however they are using those old methods of teaching. But still the teaching quality is better and the portion is completed within the stipulated time. The teacher student ratio is around 6:70. I haven't visited or experienced any industry work here but I heard this college is better in industrial works etc.
Other: There are many events organised during the year like happenings, spectrum, tandav etc. The campus is too large and remains less crowded.

Goa College of Engineering is for fun and chill out life.
Placements: Batch: 2017-2021 Placed students in passed out batch senior to my batch: 09 Percent of students placed: 13% Top recruiting companies: Infosys, TCS, Microsoft, etc. Top roles: Full freedom to express your views. The highest package: 12 LPA. The lowest package: 3 LPA. Average package: 3 LPA. Internship was done by all students in sub stations of Goa, Siemens, Cipla, Optal Vision, Bosch, etc.
Infrastructure: The college gives every sort of facilities it can give. Wi-Fi is there, and that also of very high-speed. Library is very big with huge amount of books. More than 20 lakh books are there. Classrooms are very big, spacious, sufficient light is there, and no flaws are there with perfect ventilation. Hostel facilities are not that good. Wi-Fi is there, water is there but overall score is not good. Quality of food is average. Canteen is there, food arena is there. Food quality is good in food arena. Medical facilities are not there, we have to go in private hospitals. Sports and games facilities are present but not excellent. They are of average level.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, they are qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also very good. They support students in every possible way. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant. It’s a little back to date. However, the flaw is that they just teach all theoretical knowledge and not practical knowledge. It does not make students industry ready.
Other: I like electrical and electronics branch since I am interested in electrical stuff. Best thing is that this course is not backdated. Electrical stuff is used in our day to day life and it can never become absolute. I would like to make my course more practical than being theoretical. There are many events, extracurricular activities, scholarships available in the campus. This campus is fun loving and chill out. Best college life is there in this college.
