B.E. in Electrical Engineering - Batch of 2026
5.0
The journey of dreams starts from here, GCEK.
Placements: Government College of Engineering Karad, often named as GCE, Karad. The placement percentage in GCE, Karad, will be 100% with a legacy of years. Not only for IT companies but also for core. Top recruiters' companies such as Tata Power, Adani Power, Mercedes-Benz, Reliance Industries, Godrej and Eaton provide a package of 9 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the main college building is of rock and old infrastructure. In the main building, there are three core departments, namely Mechanical, Electrical and Civil. The IT department has its separate building as well as the E&TC and MCA. The faculty will provide the practical knowledge with the theoretical concepts.
Faculty: Faculty from my department are very punctual as well as strict.75% attendance is mandatory for the Students. For our batch, there is an old method of exam such as Class test 1, Class test 2 and End semester exam. For new batches, there is the NEP method, and there is a change in syllabus. For them, the exam will be a mid-semester exam and an end-of-semester exam.

I am not interested in my college.
Placements: The average package of the college is 5.5 to 6 LPA. This college is good for core branches like Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil. In the IT sector, companies like TCS, Renishaw, President, Pratiti, and Softlink visit the campus. I don’t have much information about internships, but in IT, you need to find good internships on your own. In my class, two second-year students got selected for an EATON internship in Data Science. The lowest package is 3.5 to 4 LPA.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is not good and has less bandwidth. Labs have old PCs. Some don’t turn on, and others are broken. The classrooms are okay. The library is not very good and gets too crowded during exam season. In the digital library, almost all the PCs are either broken or don’t turn on.
Faculty: Don’t expect too much from faculty. Some of them are not very knowledgeable in their subjects and don’t cover the syllabus on time. It’s very rare to find a good teacher, but some are good at teaching and behave well with students. The curriculum is good, but in my opinion, it doesn’t fully prepare students for the industry. Exams are not very difficult, and the passing criteria are 40%.
Other: I chose this course to become an IT engineer. I would like to see improvements in the curriculum. Also, there is so much partiality among students when it comes to clubs and club activities.

Good college with decent placement rate. Good infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: About 80 to 90% students get placed. The highest package is 11 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA. Softlink, thoughtwork, President technologies, Pratiti, Renishaw recruited. 60% students get an internship with PPO offer with average package of around 6 LPA. Roles like Intern, Project Head, Software Developed are offered.
Infrastructure: Advanced labs, good Wi-Fi connection. Suitable classrooms with all facilities. Best hostel infrastructure with good mess and special TV and sports rooms. E-library for the students with integrated book stock and reference materials, and link of the courses like NPTEL.
Faculty: Highly qualified teachers, supportive staff. NEP syllabus is integrated with different departments and many industry-based courses like AIML, AIOT, EV. Total 60 marks ESE exam with 24 marks for passing. 20 marks for internal and 20 marks for mid term exam.

It's worth to take admission.
Placements: Particularly for the IT branch, this year 80% of placements are done. The highest package is 11 LPA, the average is 4 LPA, and the lowest is 3.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies include Precient, Persistent, Renishaw, and some through pool campuses, etc. Around 50% of students get internships in various companies, including Persistent and Renishaw. Roles offered include Graduate Trainee, QA Analyst, Software Engineer, React Developer, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility with 2GB is provided until 12 PM. Labs, classrooms, and the library are also available. The hostel facilities are quite good. The mess and canteen are average. The medical facilities are not sufficient, but sports and games, including both indoor and outdoor activities, are available. There are also various clubs related to space, environment, etc.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and qualified, though many are on a contract basis. The teaching is quite good. The course curriculum is relevant and makes students industry-ready. Exams are fairly average and not very difficult. The pass percentage for each subject is 40 out of 100%.
Other: I take the IT course due to the boom in the IT field in 2022–23. Learning coding and building logical thinking is the best part of IT. A better coding environment is needed. Events like Avishkar and fests like Antarang are organized. The campus crowd is around 1500–1600. The campus is one of the best and supports scholarships like Siemens, Cummins, Mahadbt, and Youth. Zonal and other extracurricular activities are also available.

Review of Government College of Engineering, Karad.
Placements: Most of us are well placed now. I was placed at Visa Steel Ltd in Odisha and companies like TCS, ONGC, Vedanta, Infosys, Ultratech, Jaypee, HZL and Wipro typically accept average students with 65 percent score. This occurs every year due to the abundant internship opportunities available at this college. Additionally, you can obtain free internships through the college based on merit. There are also chances to secure internships with top and reputable companies in India, such as NTPC, BHEL, BSNL, and Reliance.
Infrastructure: After attending the semester-end exams, students can only pass if they have earned at least 50 (username_1) or 45 (including 50% internals) points. Thus, by completing the coursework and earning 26 credits from the 1st and 2nd semesters, students can get promoted to the 5th semester; similarly, 52 credits from the 1st to 4th semesters are required for promotion to the 7th semester. The college used to have a hostel on-site, but that building has now been transformed into an administrative block. Currently, there are no hostel facilities, although there is a college canteen inside the campus.
Faculty: The student-to-faculty ratio is quite good. Exams are relatively easy; all you need to do is purchase some Twenty 20 guides to secure good marks in the examinations. It's important to attend your classes, as this fosters better coordination with your teachers. There is no hostel facility, as the college is situated in a prime location in Jabalpur, surrounded by numerous coaching classes and hotels.
Other: I chose the B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering department because it aligns with my goals and aids in achieving my aspirations.

A truly best college. Faculty was also good, and placements are the best.
Placements: In the current year, 75% of students were placed from the Electronics and Telecommunication engineering branch. The highest package is 12 LPA, the lowest package is 4 LPA, and the average package is 6 LPA. TCS, Hella, Bharat Electronics Limited, Burns, Siemens Energy, Aeron, etc. are the top companies hiring students from the Electronics and Telecommunication engineering branch. 65% of students got internships from the ENTC course in the above top companies. Companies hire ENTC students as junior engineers, senior engineers, etc.
Infrastructure: In the Electronics and Telecommunication engineering department, all the facilities are provided, such as unlimited Wi-Fi, proper labs with all required materials, and fresh classrooms. Also, the hostel is good and provides great facilities and things such as furniture, fans, lights, washing machines, etc. The mess food is also good.
Faculty: In the Electronics and Telecommunication engineering branch, teachers are helpful, highly qualified, and experienced. The teaching quality is truly good. The curriculum is also good and makes students ready for the industry and placements. Semester exams are of mid-level difficulty, but students get the highest marks because of the teaching.

Overall review of GCEK. Average faculty, good placements in past years, and average campus.
Placements: In the electrical engineering department, the total placement percentage is 100. The highest package offered in this specific course is 8 lakh, and the lowest is 3.5 lakh per annum. The companies like Tata, Godrej, Fiat and other big IT companies visit here during the placement.
Infrastructure: The capacity of the class is nearly 100, where students are provided with a blackboard and a smartboard. Also, there are various labs for performing practicals for different subjects. Also, students were provided with Wi-Fi facilities with their own ID and password. The college has a digital library and a reading room from where students get access to books.
Faculty: The teachers are experienced and helpful. Always motivates the students for developing and working on their skills. Usually mostly teachers use Marathi language during teaching and also the students use Marathi language to interact with the teachers. From the first semester, teachers and the faculty work on the skill development of the students. According to NEP, there are a total three exams. The first semester exam is a little bit easy.
Other: I chose this course because, firstly, it is a government college and the opportunities provided by the college to the student is good. The best thing about the college is its placement and training cell. The college hosts annual fest every year and there are also various kind of clubs and groups like arts and crafts, innovation, sports, etc.

Okay faculty, decent placement, okay hostel and mess, few good events, and local crowd.
Placements: As a 2nd-year student, I can speak from the experiences of my seniors about placements and internships. The average package is around 7 LPA for the IT branch and the placement percentage is around 90%. Companies like Capgemini, Sarvaha Systems, Pratiti, TCS, Infosys, etc. visit the college for recruitment. Internships are offered by companies like Nvidia, TCS, Reliance, etc. Roles offered are Software Engineer, Programmer, Web developer, app developer, database manager, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available throughout the campus; its fast but limited; the campus is not huge but moderate; the canteen is lackluster; the library is great; a huge number of books are made available to students; the labs are well-equipped but PCs need to be upgraded; the classrooms are school-like with wooden benches full of dust; and faculty members use blackboards more than the tiny projector/monitor setup to read PPT's. Hostel rooms are spacious, well ventilated and have electricity; drinking water is available all the time; mess food is okay; sports events are a huge deal here, with GC being a matter of pride .
Faculty: All the teachers are very well versed in their subjects but only a few can teach well. In engineering, you will have to study anyway so it doesn't matter much. The curriculum is relevant but feels a bit outdated still, but they prepares us enough face-to-face interviews and campus drives. Following NEP, there are 2 exams per semester: 1 mid-semester exam of 20 marks based on half the syllabus and then the end-semester exam on the full syllabus of 60 marks 10 marks are for teacher assessments of students.
Other: I had a great deal of interest in tech from my very childhood and I wanted to explore this domain more, so I chose this course, The best things is that you learn a lot about computer hardware and software, like multiple programming languages, making projects, etc. I wish there was less mathematics in the course but I guess its not that big of a deal. There are not a whole lot of events and not on a huge scale but there are events like annual day, trade day, Bollywood day, science fairs, talk shows, etc. On a semi-regular basis, campus doesn't offer a lot to explore, but IT department encourages extracurricular activities like GC dance, club participation, sports, etc.
