Maharashtra MTech 2025: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra, conducts the MHTCET MTech 2025 counselling. The admission counselling was held from September 8 to 15. Students can check the MHT CET seat matrix on the official website. The Maharashtra CET counselling was conducted in four rounds. After each counselling round, candidates must report to the allotted institute to confirm their admission. If there are any vacant seats in the government or government-aided or unaided institutes, the respective institutes notifiy regarding the seat vacancy on the official website or in advertisement. The final seat acceptance is based on document verification. Selected candidates must pay fee to confirm their admission. What is Maharashtra MTech Admission?

Maharashtra MTech counselling is an admission allotment process for postgraduate programmes. The counselling process is conducted by the Government of Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell. Candidates with valid GATE scores can participate in DTE Maharashtra counselling round. It is done in three to four rounds called CAP, based on total number of seats available. Maharashtra MTech application form releases online at DTE Maharashtra website. Candidates can fill their form using process mentioned below -

Maharashtra MTech Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria for Maharashtra Candidature Candidate and All India Candidature Candidate are listed below. 

  • Candidate must be an Indian National.
  • Candidates must have passed Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks for candidates from Maharashtra State's Backward Class categories, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category).
  • Non-zero GATE scores are valid for the current academic year.
  • Sponsored candidates must have a minimum of two years of work experience in a registered company that is approved by the government.

Maharashtra MTech Admission Process

Maharashtra MTech admission is done through Centralised Admission Process, CAP. CAP includes three rounds of counselling. Check details below-

  • Candidates need to apply for Centralised Admission Process (CAP) online on official website. It will only be open to those who have submitted application form.
  • To verify documents, applicants must visit local Facilitation Centre (FC) after completing application form. They must present original documents for verification and confirmation of application form. All original documents supporting claims made by candidate must be produced.
  • Maharashtra MTech Admission Merit List is released by the admissions board based on application form and scores submitted. GATE scores are also considered for admission process.
  • Candidates can raise objection in provisional merit list. Final merit list will be released after submission and evaluations of objections.
  • Category-wise seat matrix will be released for each category
  • Before each counselling round, candidates have to perform choice filling and locking.
  • Provsional allotment will be done as per submissions.

Filling of Empty Seats

If there are any seats remaining at institute, admission process will be completed by institutes in following way:

  • Notice of open seats on institute website as well as advertising in newspaper.
  • Invite registered candidates to submit applications.
  • Merit list for these candidates is prepared by institute and released on university website and displayed on institute notice board.
  • Complete admission process by following government admission rules.

Candidates must carry original documents with them for scrutiny and verification at assigned facilitation centre. Here are list of documents

  • HSC/Diploma
  • Graduation Examination Mark Sheet
  • GATE score card
  • Certificate of Indian Nationality
  • Domicile Certificate of candidate/father/mother (if applicable)
  • Certificate from the employer that candidate’s father/mother, who is an employee of the Central Government/ Government of India undertaking, is posted in Maharashtra currently (if applicable)
  • Certificate from the employer that the candidate’s father/mother is an employee of  Maharashtra State Government/ Maharashtra State Government undertaking (if applicable)
  • Certificate stating that candidate belongs to the Maharashtra Karnataka border area  (if applicable)
  • Certificate stating that the mother tongue of the candidate is Marathi  (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable)
  • Eligibility Certificate for Economically Weaker Section (if applicable)

Maharashtra MTech Seat Acceptance Fee

The seat acceptance fee must be paid by the candidate when reporting for the first time. This fee will be considered a processing fee that is not refundable. The seat acceptance fee must be paid only online using his or her own login. Following original document verification and confirmation that the applicant satisfies all eligibility requirements, the allocated institute will confirm the candidate's seat. The candidate will get an online confirmation of admission from the institute's admissions officer.
