An improved course curriculum could help the students improve their skills.
Placements: As of now, no such student has been placed by the college, i.e through on-campus hiring. Companies have not visited this college for placements. There is no such training and placement cell in action at our college. Students themselves have to go to walk-in drives or off-campus hiring and secure their placements from there. The college does not help much in terms of placements. Very few students have been placed till now, that too via off-campus hiring or exams. I haven't witnessed any company that offered jobs in our college.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is too good of my college. Many facilities have been made available for the students. We have an efficient space for assembly or public announcements. Spacious classrooms are also available. Along with this, smartboards are also available as teaching aids for students. Library is also good, and students can go there to study. Network connection is little poor. No direct hostel and mess facilities are available from the college. Students have to arrange it for themselves at their own expense. Sports are held in my college every year.
Faculty: The teaching quality is good. Teachers are helpful in solving lecture doubts or any such academic problem that usually arises. The course curriculum is good, but there are many subjects that are skipped for our batch, which I feel should be explained in college. All the subjects won't help the students in enhancing their knowledge. It does not make students entirely industry-ready. Semester exams are not that difficult if students manage to write correct and efficient content in their written exams. The pass percentage is around 40 percent.
Other: Scholarships are available for students. They can register if they are eligible. All the events, college gatherings, sports, games, and extracurricular activities are held every year in my college. The campus surroundings are friendly, so I like it. The course would have been better if it included more interesting subjects.

Good infrastructure, but not fit for providing placements for students.
Placements: No companies are coming to our college right now to provide placements to students. There are no recruiting companies tied to our college. Around 10 to 20 percent of students get internships from some companies that visit the college, but very few get selected based on their tests. The companies are not very well-recognized.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is good. Many facilities are available for students. There is a slight problem with network connectivity inside the classrooms. Outside the college building, the network is available. Classrooms and a library are also available. Labs are not very efficient because the PCs generally do not work properly. Decent medical facilities are available in the college. Sports and games are also organized.
Faculty: Faculty members are good. Teachers help solve doubts, and their teaching quality is also good. The course curriculum is not fully relevant, but I find some subjects very interesting. The course could make students industry-ready if there were more practical sessions. The college mostly sticks to theoretical knowledge. Semester exams are easy to pass. The pass percentage for each subject within a semester is around 40 percent.
Other: Events, college gatherings, and extracurricular activities take place in our college every year. Scholarships are also available for students who meet the eligibility criteria. The campus surroundings are somewhat good. I wish I could gain more practical experience through sessions instead of attending long, never-ending lectures at my college.

The college should tie up with companies to help students with placements.
Placements: Placements are not available as such because, till date, no company has approached our college to offer placements. The training and placement cell is yet to be established, and it will take some time to become active. Some students get internships based on small tests conducted by organizations that visit our college. Roughly 10–20% of students get internships. The organizations that visit our college are not very well recognized.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good, and facilities for my branch are also available. The classrooms are good and spacious, and there is a library as well. Hostel and mess facilities are not directly provided by the college. We have to find hostels, PGs, and mess facilities ourselves. There is no canteen on campus. Basic medical facilities are available in the college. Sports and games are organized every year.
Faculty: Faculty is also good overall. Teachers are qualified and knowledgeable. They help students when they face difficulties in their studies. The teaching quality is appreciable. The course curriculum is somewhat relevant, but there are many subjects that are not important for us. It does not make students immediately industry-ready engineers. Semester exams are difficult to pass. The pass percentage is 40%.
Other: I wanted to explore the Mechatronics branch and pursue an engineering course. Scholarships are available for eligible college students who meet certain criteria. Events and college gatherings are organized every year by the Gymkhana Committee. They also conduct extracurricular activities and sports events every year. The campus surroundings are good.

Good college in Konkan region, with cheap tuition fees & near home, but no placements from college.
Placements: Literally, 0% of students got placed through our college. Talking about off-campus placements, the average package offered for my course is 6–8 LPA. The top companies could be Microsoft, Google, TCS, Capgemini, and Infosys. No one from our batch got an internship. Top roles could be Software Engineer, AI Engineer, Data Scientist, and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: As we are the second batch of our college, we got a small, single building for academic activities. Currently, the new building has been inaugurated. There is no Wi-Fi for students. Classrooms have smart boards. There is a library in the new building. There is no college mess or canteen.
Faculty: In the first year, we faced a lot of difficulties with teaching because there were no permanent faculty members at that time. However, after the second year, we got some good faculty members who were really knowledgeable and helpful. The curriculum is pretty relevant but lacks practical knowledge. That is what it lacks to make students industry-ready. The semester exams can be considered moderate to hard. To pass a subject, students need to score a minimum of 20 marks.
Other: I chose this course because I am fond of technology and software development. The best thing about this course is that it is rich in computer science basics, with an added edge of AI and Data Science concepts. The course should be more practically oriented. Events are celebrated enthusiastically in college. There is a moderate crowd on campus. Ratnagiri Railway Station is just 5 km away, which helps with connectivity. The campus is small because it is shared by three colleges. Scholarships are offered through MahaDBT. Very few extracurricular activities are organized by the college for students.

Overall, a good college with decent academics and college life.
Placements: The college was established in 2021, so the placement record is still developing. Placement opportunities are available, but they are not as extensive as those in other engineering colleges. However, internship opportunities are provided through industry collaborations, training programs, and student initiatives.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good for a relatively new government college. Classrooms, labs, library facilities, Wi-Fi services, & campus amenities are well maintained. This provides a comfortable learning environment. The location is also peaceful, with fewer distractions, which is beneficial for studies.
Faculty: Faculty members are supportive and friendly. They are quite helpful and willing to assist students with their queries. The course curriculum is also relevant and provides an all-round learning experience. Exams are conducted in a fair and organized manner, with internal and external assessments.

Reviewing my college and sharing experience.
Placements: My background is Civil and Infrastructure, but majorly today jobs are available in the civil sector and very few in infrastructure. As our college is established just 5 years ago, there is no placement cell set up in college, and due to this, there is no placement offered to students.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of GCOER is nice and beautiful from the outside. As it has department-wise separate buildings, but it is still under construction. There is a lack of network with no Wi-Fi. Classrooms are full of ventilation, and the library also provides various course books, but no hostel and mess are provided.
Faculty: The passing percentage is a minimum of 40 percent, and the teachers or faculty are also well-qualified. Our HOD is also very nice and cooperative by nature. The course curriculum is not as relevant as demanded, though somewhere it makes students industry-ready. Semesters are tough.
Other: This is something unique compared to just doing Civil Engineering.
