It is one of the best colleges of pharmacy in North India.
Placements: Placements are so good in our college. You just need to secure above 75% in your degree then you are eligible for sitting in the placements of every company. In our college, students got salary packages from 1.5 LPA to 6 LPA which is considered very good in this field. Some of the top recruiting companies are Cipla, Sun Pharmaceuticals, and Dr. Reddy laboratories. In the previous year, some of the students got good salary packages and in case of an internship, you can get a letter from your college, and then you can easily do your internship from any company, factory, or plant. In the course, you can go through some good quality education, research, and development.
Infrastructure: In our college, the facilities are good and infrastructure is also good but it is outdated. The reason is it is an old college established in 2005 so little bit compromise with the buildings. The classrooms are very much spacious. The labs are also spacious but the instruments that are used are outdated or they cannot work properly. The library is huge in size and you can find journals and books related to pharmacy and research easily. Wi-Fi is available in the college. The hostels are quite nice with good rooms, nice facilities and the food is like home-cooked food at a very less price. The hostel fee is also very low and you can easily afford it. There is also the availability of other facilities like medical facilities. In sports there is a huge playground and students play cricket in the evening.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are well qualified. Every professor is a Ph.D. holder and they are very kind and helpful in every situation. Quality of teaching is so high that you can relate that from 40 students, 30 students qualified GPAT exam easily. In the course, you study pharmaceutics, pharma engineering, and industrial pharmacy. These types of subjects give you a brief about how things work in industries so the course makes you relevant for getting a good job in the industry and the rest depends on your studies. Semester exams are tough but if you can cover the whole syllabus one day before the exam, you can easily pass without any worry. There is no percentage system. There is a CGP system. If you take O, A, B, C, and D grades in the subject, you are considered pass in the exam.
Other: There is so much scope in the field of pharmacy. It is the fastest-growing sector in India, so in the future, there will be many opportunities. This is the best thing I liked about B.Pharma course. I think if PCI add some more industry-related subjects to the course, it will be good, and assignment should be less as they are much burden. Rohru is 100 km from Shimla in the past. The connectivity is not that good but now it's good but in winter when there is snowfall, the Hatkoti or Rohru roads get closed. There is no crowd in the college only approximately 200 students study in the college. There is peace around the campus. Fests are organised but not so much. There are so many scholarships for girls and boys below the poverty line and EWS students. Extracurriculars are ongoing in the semester creating so many opportunities.
Does Government College of Pharmacy, Rohru provide good placement facilities?
