B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2028

The college is still new but might become popular in the future.
Placements: This is from the 2024 batch of the Computer Science Engineering course. No one from this course has received placements yet because the college is only four years old. The first batch will graduate this year, so placements are yet to come. Almost every student from my course has done an internship.
Infrastructure: The facilities in my department are limited. There is Wi-Fi in the academic building, a library, and classrooms with AC, but the lab is yet to be established. The hostel provides basic facilities such as water purifiers, decent rooms, and a chair for each student. A mess is available, but the food quality is average. Carrom and table tennis are available in the hostel, but there are no medical facilities.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified to teach this course; many have completed M. Tech and have teaching experience. The course is relevant according to the Jharkhand University of Technology and can make students industry-ready, depending on how engaged they are. Semester exams are not very difficult. The passing criteria is 21 marks in the external exam, with a total of 35 marks.
Other: I chose this course because I am curious about technology and have a strong interest in coding. I wish there were more practical sessions rather than just verbal lectures, and smart boards in classrooms would improve learning. Most students belong to categories other than EWS and General. Fests are rare, happening only once a year or less. The campus is surrounded by agricultural fields and a small village.

Only come here if you have no other option in hand. It is a budget-friendly college.
Placements: The percentage of students getting placement in my course is very low, something like 10-20% of my branch got the placement. The highest was 9 LPA and the lowest was 3 LPA - don't know the exact name, but it's a private company. 80-90% of students got internships. The top role offered is chief engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are the worst in my college haven't been in a workshop since admission. Labs? What are those? I have never heard of them. Classrooms and library are average, neither good nor bad, and the ACs in the seminar hall are not in working condition. Wi-Fi is good, the auditorium hall is in the best condition, but the whole college is like a family, celebrating every festival. The hostel is not clean, the bathroom is cleaned once a week, food quality is good as I am still alive after eating for a year, and not even a first aid kit.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They solve many problems in academic or non-academic areas, are well-qualified, and knowledgeable in their field. They lack in numbers absolutely not, the level of the course curriculum is not relevant to the industry level. Semester exams are easy to moderate. The pass percentage is 33%.
Other: Mechanical engineering is one of the best fields, which touches almost every area. I chose it because I want to learn about machines and make a flying vehicle myself, if we have a few more facilities and a quality workshop. We could have done better in academic and practical experience. Events are good, festivals are average to good. The campus crowd is very small. The connectivity can do better. Campus surroundings are neat and clean, and there is a good civic sense. There is no scholarship from the college. You have to apply to Ekalyan for a scholarship. Extracurricular activities are often available. This is a 3rd tier college.

The college is still new but has potential to grow in the future.
Placements: This college is established in 2022, so no B. Tech students have graduated yet. Therefore, no official placement results or notices have been released so far. Since placements are usually conducted for final-year students, the college has not published any official records yet. Once the first batch reaches the final year and completes graduation, the institute is expected to initiate the placement process and release official placement information.
Infrastructure: The college campus is relatively small, covering around 10 acres, but it is quite beautiful. The campus has one academic building, two boys’ hostels (Hostel A and Hostel B), and one girls’ hostel. The classrooms are good, and academic facilities are generally satisfactory. In Hostel A, the rooms are average, but the washrooms are very dirty and are not cleaned frequently.
Faculty: Most of the teachers in this college are GATE-qualified. The teaching quality is average. The course curriculum is relevant, and the syllabus is based on the New Education Policy (NEP). It aims to make students industry-ready. This college is under JUT (Jharkhand University of Technology). The semester exams are not very difficult, the question level ranges from moderate to hard. The pass percentage is 33 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I want to become an engineer, and there are many opportunities after completing it. I think subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning should be added in the first and second years. Startup idea pitching events are conducted frequently in the college. There is also the E-Kalyan scholarship available for OBC/SC/ST students.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the hostel management and college faculty.
Placements: The placement rate is very low because it is a new college located in a rural area. Some students from the Mechanical department get placed in private companies with a salary of Rs. 20,000 per month, but there is no information about other branches. I hope by the 3rd year, we get placement opportunities from better companies.
Infrastructure: Hostel food is average, and cleanliness is very poor, happening only 2–3 times a month. Washroom gates are broken, and the hostel warden is careless.
Faculty: Faculty is not very cooperative. They ask students to complete the syllabus on their own and do not focus on student performance. Students have different capabilities, but they are not supported. For example, a friend of mine presented a startup idea that teachers liked, and his team was selected for the next level and won Rs. 50,000 to start their project, but the principal kept the money. There is a shortage of teachers, and the teaching faculty is not committed to their work. They often skip parts of the syllabus, sometimes covering 80 pages of PDF in a 30-minute class.

All the facilities are good here.
Placements: So basically, our college is newly established. The 2022-26 Batch is the first one that is appearing for placement, and in Electrical Engineering, it is quite good. 60-70% have been placed, and the rest of the students will also be placed in the upcoming days. Top recruitment companies like Jindal Saw Limited, Usha Martin, NBC Bearing, Electroplasts Limited, Bharat Gears, etc., recruit.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good in my college, as it was newly built in 2022, and is modern. Wi-fi is all over the academic building. Labs are set up like electrical engineering labs are established. The library is well-maintained, with all kinds of books present. Hostels are new and well-maintained, with modern facilities.
Faculty: Well, we have a college which is governed by the Government of Jharkhand, so all the professors were government employees, they have a good knowledge of the course and know how to teach the students. So basically, they are helpful, knowledgeable and kind-hearted. The course is relevant as it gives industry-ready exposure, where we do an internship every year, which is helpful for industrial experience. The semester is quite tough as we are in the new education policy, so students have to work hard to make marks in the exam. The passing percentage is 33%.

This is considered the best college under government-funded and PPP mode and halls
Placements: It is a newly established college, so there aren’t many ideas yet. But some companies visit on a regular basis. Almost 90% of the students have applied for and qualified for internships, mostly with Jharkhand-based companies. There is also a hackathon.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi availability and laboratories for the respective departments, along with well-structured classrooms for each specific branch. There is also a library with a good number of books and many more resources. There is a hostel facility and a better mess, but not a canteen. There are also many medical facilities, as well as sports and games.
Faculty: According to seniors’ guidance and suggestions, the faculty are well-qualified and knowledgeable. These courses are relevant for industry placements. According to seniors’ suggestions, it is easy to pass the semester exams. A 5 CGPA is required for passing, and a 7 CGPA is considered good for placement.
Other: I chose this college because I am interested in Computer Science and Robotics, and there are many digital coding clubs, like hackathons and halls. There are also lots of clubs and activities held on special occasions.

Hi,
With an 88.4% in Class 12, your CRL rank of 188402, and an EWS rank of 30668, securing a seat in B.Tech CSE at GEC Palamu might be difficult, as CSE typically has higher cutoffs. However, for the EEE branch, you have a better chance, especially with the EWS category, as it may have slightly lower
