Satisfactory college with top faculty.

Placements: The recently passed students either appear for NEET PG or INI CET. Many of them succeed and pursue PG in different branches. Some also work as junior residents in the same college with an average salary of Rs. 80,000 per month.

Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are available, but the mess food quality is average. The mess charges are high at Rs. 4,000 per month. It is mandatory for hostel students to join the mess, which I think is unfair. Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food options are available, which is a positive aspect. Labs are well-equipped. The reading room and library have air conditioning. It has a good collection of books. Lecture halls are equipped with recliner chairs and smart boards. The cleanliness of the campus is also well-maintained.

Faculty: Faculty is top-notch.

Other: Events are organized regularly. Students receive a freshers' party, and events like Euphoria are also conducted. The review of the college is above average.

The college has the best infrastructure. The hospital is not famous.

Placements: In MBBS at GMC Kathha, there are no corporate placements like in engineering. After completing MBBS, all students must do a compulsory one-year internship. Most students then prepare for NEET PG and INI-CET. Some also join as junior residents in Andhra Pradesh. After 2–3 years of preparation, students crack NEET PG. After the internship, there is good scope.

Infrastructure: The college infrastructure is the best as it is a new college. We have a library with ACs, a gym, well-designed lecture halls, parking for vehicles, a good canteen, and Wi-Fi in each department. We have new hostels with good mess service. Each MBBS student is provided with a room. The hospital does not have as much infrastructure as the GMC Jammu-associated hospital. A new hospital has recently been built, which has good infrastructure.

Faculty: Good faculty, most of whom have studied at GMC Srinagar. Faculty is well qualified, overall good, and supportive. The MBBS curriculum follows NMC guidelines. Semester exams are moderately difficult. To pass a subject, a student has to score 50%.

Other: I chose the course because I am targeting to crack NEET and my family tells me to do it. Almost all events are held here, and every year, students go on a tour with the college. GMC Kathua does not have a playground, which is its negative point.

It is a good college with excellent infrastructure.

Placements: This college was specially designed for MBBS students, but nursing students were studying at our college. This was the new college in Jammu and Kashmir. Internships were not available. The MBBS degree was accomplished in 5.5 years.

Infrastructure: Our college provided excellent infrastructure. Our college buildings and hostels were new. All facilities were available. The college had three floors with different departments. Elevator and labs were available.

Faculty: In our college, teachers were strict but excellent. They guided students properly and taught them the basics of MBBS. The terminal papers were from what teachers taught us, but about 80% of students would fail in terminals.

Other: The MBBS course was a dream for many students. After MBBS and internships, students will become doctors. We had only one cadaver available at our college. At least three cadavers should be present. Our college organised many events. This college was under the control of Jammu University, so it strictly followed all its orders. Scholarships were available.

Highlights

National Exit Test (NExT) is a combined single-window exam for MBBS students to qualify for admission into postgraduate courses as well as to obtain the license to practice medicine in India.
